It won't let me sync due to "not enough memory"

So I got a new laptop & home shared everything.
When I plugged my iPhone to my new iTunes, it asked me if I wanted to merge or replace the info on my phone. I was panicing because I didn't want to erase my pictures and contacts so I said merge thinking I could select the things I wanted to merge.
Now that I want to sync the music & erase some of the things I had before, it won't let me.
It'll say theres not enough room.
I've already tried everything that the support section instructed at the apple website.
Does anyone know how to change it so I could just erase the old music & put my new stuff?
I''ll appreciate any help.

- Transfer iTunes purchases to the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
- For other music you need a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
- After all the stuff is on your computer, connect the iPod to yur computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up.
- Restore the iPod from that backup.

I followed the advice of another user, cleared my payment information and re-entered my credit card info and this took care of it, I was immediately able to download new purchases. Apparently they called and got this info from someone at Apple, there is some sort of "bug".  worked for me...hope it helps you out too!!

  • Can't sync photos because "not enough memory is available"

    Hi there!
    I updated my iPhone 3GS 32GB to iOS4 yesterday.
When it came to syncing my Apertue Photo Library, it comes up with the same error message all the time after optimizing a handful of picture for the device:
The iPhone "*** iPhone" cannot be synced.
There is not enough memory available.
Though I have over 10 GB free memory.
I have used the iPhone as an external USB drive with "iPhone Explorer", and I used most of the 10GBs then, but deleted all the files. First, I thought they weren't deleted properly, but that isn't the case.
Oh and I can sync movies, music etc. The problem only occurs to my pictures...

    Are you Mac or PC?
On the PC I read to go to the *Device Manager*, then highlight the Computer and then in the Action Menu click *Scan for Hardware Changes*
This seemed to fix the problem for me. I also restored the system. Not sure what order since I was just trying everything!
    Good Luck

  • Cannot Migrate VM due to "not enough memory"

I have two hosts in a cluster and they are listed in my VMM. I'm trying to perform a migration from VMM but I keep getting the stupid error below. I tried setting the "host reserve" to 0GB of memory and I still get the error. The error pops up
for both VM's even though they both have plenty of memory. I do not understand why this thing seems to think that there is not enough memory available.
"Not enough memory available due to the host reserve at level: Warning Reserve Level. Total memory at this reserve level for use by existing and new virtual machines is 0 MB. At the time of evaluation, the remaining memory was 0 MB and the amount requested
by this virtual machine was 820 MB. "

    Hi Vincent,
which version of SCVMM are you running? Which OS is running on your hosts?
Have you applied the most recent updates for
    Hyper-V and
    Failovercluster ?
    Also you should apply
    UR 2 vor SCVMM 2012 R2 or
    UR 6 for SCVMM 2012 SP1
    Greetings

  • I have 8.8gb left on my phone yet itunes won't update due to "not enough memory"

What's up?  I haven't downloaded any big programme nor uploaded massive music libraries.  Suddenly, I'm not able to sync due to a lack of memory.  What could be causing this?

I checked a support article that gives instructions to reset the sync history by going through the "edit" tab.  It looks like preferences has been moved to the "iTunes" tab.  But when I access devices through the iTune tab there is no option to reset the sync history.  I think this is an option that has been removed in the new ITunes.

  • I have itunes 10.5.8 and cannot update it any futher, i just installed iOS 6 on my iphone and now it won't let me sync to my itunes because it says i need the new version...is there anything i can do to avoid upgrading my entire mac os

i have itunes 10.6.1 and can't update itunes any further because im using mac os 10.5.8...the problem is that i just updated my iphone 4 to the new i OS6 and it won't let me sync to itunes without updating to itunes 10.7....help please??

Not for free, no.  Well I guess there is.  Don't sync your phone.  We don't, but then we only use it for talking and taking photos which you can transfer using even a pretty old computer.

You need iTunes on the computer. There is no iTunes for your phone. See:

    1. iOS- Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong passcode

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

  • So I just updated to the newest update that was available for safari and iTunes but now it won't let me go on the Internet using safari and  it also won't let me sync my songs ,,,,,it takes forever to back up my iPad AND my iPod so what can I do ?

If you're on windows try the following:
This worked for me an hour ago and has allowed me to sync ok. Still haven't tried downloading the new version 5 to the phone yet as I'm still backing up photos etc just in case.
    1. Quit itunes
    2. Start an elevated command prompt (Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> right click Command Prompt -> Run as Administrator)
    3. Once in the command prompt type the following 3 words starting where your cursor is flashing: netsh winsock reset
    4. press ENTER
    5. Reboot your machine
    6. Restart itunes & connect device to sync
    7. Good luck

  • ICal won't sync to mobile me, iPhone, or iPad.  On my iMac I went to preferences, mobile me, set it to sync, and even did a sync-now.  It syncd everything else, contacts etc, but not iCal.  Went to calendar preferences and it won't let me sync at the bott

Contacts etc sync fine.  Went to calendar preferences and it won't let me sync cuz it says:  Your mobileme suscr info is not correct or you did not turn on sync in mobile me prefs  - well, my mobile me subscription must be ok, I'm in and out of it easily enough, checked the acct fields, and my other stuff is working fine.  I did go to mobile me prefs and it is all set to sync, calendar is checked, it says the last sync was 15 min ago.  Ak!  What is up?  I did just upgrade the mobile me calendar.  Is that my problem?

    djb53 wrote:
Can take some time.... how much time?
There's no simple answer to that. My calendar goes back to 2004 and is moderately busy; it took around an hour. It's possible that you've hit a slow period on the server - it happens.
In order for it to work, your calendars should show on the MobileMe site, they should be listed under your MobileMe login name in the calendar list in iCal (calendars listed under 'On My Mac' will not sync) and your MM account details have to be entered in iCal Preferences>Accounts (this should have happened by itself).
If it's not working please see the page I linked to.

I just updated my iTunes to the new software. When I plugged it into my computer and it said I need to reset my iPod. I did this and everything on my iPod deleted. Now, it won't let me sync my music or apps back onto my iPod. What do I do?

It doesn't say anything. It runs through the sync process like normal and tells me all of the songs that it's synking. But then when it says I can disconnect it, nothing actually synked.

Syncing music via iTunes is only one way: from iTunes to your iPod.  If you need to copy the music from your iPod back to your PC, see this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different ways to do this.
