  • Macbook pro won't print in colour

I have a HP Photsmart printer hooked up to my macbook pro which won't print in colour. I have printed a diagnostic page which has colour so the issue is not the printer.
I have tried printing different files ie from word, pdf docs, safari etc with no luck. In the print pop-up box I have output selected as COLOR and in system preferences > print & fax I can't find any options that seem relevant. I assume there is something very simple I have missed but I am flummoxed. Any help greatly appreciated.
    thanks.

sorted. was a driver issue, in settings>print fax>options and supplies under driver tab - i had it auto selecting. just hit the pull down menu, selected other and picked my printer from the options.
    hey presto.

  • Laserjet 200 won't print in colour

I have had the printer for just over a year and it has worked perfectly.
I have just replace three of the cartridges as they had run out and it will not only print in back and white (or 50 shade of grey).
All the cartridges are full and I can't work out how to get it to print in colour again.
    Any help very much appreciated.

    Hi @DavidRhodes ,
I see that you are having issues printing in color after replacing 3 toners. I would like to help you.
Try and print a hardware self test on the printer to find out if it is a hardware or software issue.
On the printer, go to Setup, Reports Menu, Supplies Status or Demo Page.
Did the self tests print in color?
If it is a hardware issue, please try the steps in this document. Troubleshooting Print Quality Issues.
Are you using Genuine HP Toner?
If the issue is software related, please try the following steps:
Repair the Disk Permissions on the Mac:
    Close all applications.
On the Apple menu bar, click Go, click Applications and then click Utilities.
    Double-click Disk Utility.
Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left.
Click Verify and then Repair Disk Permissions.
    Restart the computer..
    Reset the Printing System:
Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.
Click the Apple icon and then click System Preferences.
    Click Printers & Scanners.
Right-click (or Ctrl +click) in the left white side panel, then click Reset printing system.
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type the correct Name and Password.
Click OK to reset the printing system.
Then click the + sign to add the driver, highlight the printer. (you might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name) Then click on the Add button.
    Try printing in color again.
If you need further assistance, just let me know.
    Have a nice day!

  • Deskjet ink advantage 4625 won't print in colour with my macbook air

Hi , My printer does not print in color  with my macbook air (OS X). pls help...

    Hi,
If you have Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, 10.8 or 10.9, I afraid the printer is not compatible with your Mac and therefore the printing is black ink only:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01856359&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=61237&task=...
Although it is not officially supported, you may be able to get it working using 3rd party solutions as HPIJS as an example..
Be sure to install any of the 3 required downloads and follow the Printer Set Up Instructions:

  • Adobe PDF won't print non-working time colour in MS Project

Adobe PDF won't print the colour chosen for non-working times in MS Project.  I have tried changing the colour, changing the style, moving non-working time in front of tasks and have fiddled with the printer properties, all to no avail.  It ignores whatever style I have for non-working time and makes a blank space, although it will take gridline changes . . . . please help!

Thank you for providing the suggestion and the Cleanup tools, however they did not help.
I ran each version of the cleanup tool, and for each I had it clean up Reader and Acrobat (i.e. 4 separate cleanup operations).  I then rebooted the machine, and installed Reader 11.0.3.
Still had the same behavior:  Reader will not print.  I tried printing to a second printer (that is attached via USB)...and it did not work either.  I also tried printing to a Cute PDF Writer print driver...and that did not work either.  In each case, no print data made it to the Windows print queue (as demonstrated by watching the queue while printing.)  No error was raised, but no print data was transmitted.
I then uninstalled Reader 11.0.3, rebooted, and re-installed Reader 9:  printing works fine now.
There is definitely something in Reader 10 and Reader 11 that breaks printing in some environments.    (As you alluded to...I have seen a number of postings online about printing problems in Reader.)
    More details about my environment:
    Windows 7 Professional N (Version 6.1, Build 7601: Service Pack 1)
    VMWare virtual machine
Two virtual CPUs (each: Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67 GHz, 2673 Mhz, 1 core, 1 Logicial Processor)
    Hardware Abstraction Layer:  6.1.7601.17514
RAM:  3096 (allocated to virtual machine)
    Bridged networking
    VMware host:
    Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit 6.1.7601, Service Pack 1
    18 Gig RAM
    Intel Core i7 CPU 920 @2.67 GHz
    VMWare Workstation 9.0.2 build-1031769
(but problem existed on older version of VMWare Workstation 7.x as well)

  • Printing in colour on hp 14

I bought an HP Chromebook 14 for myself in Dec '14. I have a HP printer that has the ePrint function but it won't print in colour.
I have seen a previous post with a similar issue. The fix was to click on 'print using google cloud print dialogue' at the bottom left when the print window opened. This is ridiculous as it's not like I'm using my system dialogue because that already is google cloud print. It makes zero sense why there are two pathways to print via the same dialogue. Despite my ideas about this, I did try it.
I have done this and it has allowed me to print in colour. However, the option via this pathway of printing in landscape no longer exists. I reached a point where I could print portrait in colour but not landscape. I could print landscape using the original print window because the option was there but even though I had selected colour it would be in black and white. The 'print using google cloud print dialogue' is clearly the default setting. So, when I print using the print window and select landscape and in colour, the 'print using google cloud print dialogue' overrides to black and white but does not change the orientation because that option doesn't exist. Hence allowing me to print in landscape.
I believe I have an understanding as to why the above happens (but it shouldn't) but I do not know how to get around it.
However, from about 2 weeks ago, the 'print using google cloud print dialogue' button has dissappeared. Now I can only print in black and white, period.
It would be greatly appreciated if someone could help me sort this out. I would eventually like to be able to print in colour for both portrait and landscape.
    Thank you.

    Hi @elisafalconer
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I understand that you are unable to print in color from your HP Chromebook to your HP printer.
I have included a link to the Google Forums to a thread titled HP printer won’t print color using HP Chromebox. I don’t know if you have the same printer as mentioned in the thread, but there are some valid trouble shooting steps to try.

  • Canon IP7250 - Color won't print - Please help

I have a Canon IP7250, two day ago, my printer showed me error C000. I resolved this error, but now my printer won't printing in colour. Black working properly. I tried many times to cleaning a toner in mainteace. When I go to "print head alignment" then shows error 2500. ? In nozzle check black colour is excellent but no other colors on paper.
    Please, help me.
    Thanks.

Again, the username/password, would either be your logon username/password or your "root" username/password if you have enabled it.
Another option would be to update your CUPS software. Multi-functional printers are usually "tricky" to get full-featured drivers for. It's possible that a newer version for this particular printer may exist with an update.
Still another option (and possibly a better one) would be to download and install the latest Gutenprint printer drivers. These were formally known as Gimp-Print drivers. (ref: http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php3)

  • Adobe Reader XI - How do I print in colour?

    Hi,
I know it seems like a really silly and easy question however my program won't print in colour.  I do not have the grayscale button checked and I cannot see any other setting that can affect the colour output.
I have Windows 8.1 laptop and it comes with a different version of Reader and this prints fine in colour.  However since I loaded Reader XI this has set itself up as the default PDF program and doesn't print in colour.
Could someone advise me further please?
    Thanks

    Hi Jersey Canary,
Are you still facing this issue.
Take screen shot of the print dialog box and attach with the reply.
Also check if you have dual option for printing like screen shot attached with this reply then always try click on conventional printing.
    Regards,
    Ajlan Huda.

  • All in one printer won't print black ink - colour only

My all in one printer won't print in black right now - colour only - even though the black ink is new.  It will print a couple of black ink pages and then reverts to colour.  If I give it a rest it will print a couple more black pages and then again, in colour - I think something needs cleaning but I don't know what - any help is much appreciated!  Val

Please read this post then provide some details. What printer model? What operating system? Is the black cartridge an original HP or a third party or refill/renamufactured cartridge? (The symptom is typical of a poorly refilled cartrdige....)

  • PSC 1510 All in one printer - won't print even black and white when colour cartridge not recognised

My PSC 1510 All in one printer is flashing the "check printer cartrige icon" and both "Black" and "Colour" icons at the bottom left of the printer.
It won't print at all, even when I select grayscale (black and white). The help pages tell me that if I remove the colour cartridge the printer will switch to backup mode and I'll still be able to print in black and white (though not copy or scan). But this is not the case, and I can find no way of switching manually to backup mode. The help pages have no useful explanation of backup mode. I've also tried cleaning the cartridge (which I'm pretty sure isn't empty) but that makes no difference.
Can anyone help? I'd be very grateful.

gabri21 wrote: I have a very similar problem with my PSC1510 but only the colour cartridge light is blinking. I am also unable to find any useful information to set up printing in back up mode. Can anyone assist in resolving this problem for us?
With only one cartridge light blinking I would suspect the cartridge, they do rarely fail (much more often for reman cartridges, see here).  Clean the cartridge contascts as shown here.  If that fails and the cartridge is an original HP then check the warranty date as shown here.  If the cartridge is in warranty return it to your dealer for a warranty replacement.
The printer will automatically switch to backup mode if the black (or color in some printers) cartridge is removed.  I do not know if this works with the PSC 1510, some all-in-on devices insist on having both cartridges present.

  • CP1025nw won't print wirelessly; two copies of printer appear in the network!

My two Macs running Mountain Lion (10.8) won't print wirelessly to the HP CP1025nw. HP Setup Assistant can't find the printer after it's set up wirelessly. The computers see the printer wirelessly when I try to add it, but there are TWO copies of the printer, and they won't print. Sometimes they seem to think the printer is already in use, possibly because there are two copies.
The printer prints fine through USB, though.

Same issue here, the CP1025nw can't print multiple copies UNLESS the user is a local administrator; which in this domain environment is not allowed. So another solution must be found.
The common answer is to adjust the "mopier mode" however this driver does NOT allow for that to be changed. The universal drivers typically do have the mopier setting but I could not find any compatible colour universal 64bit drivers that would work with the CP1025nw.
Even tried finding something in group policy and/or printer permissions, still no luck.
    Please help!
    We're all in it together.

  • HP Envy 5530 won't print in color from Mac

My printer won't print anything in color from my Mac. I've tried printing from Word and from a PDF, and each time only black ink will show up. I've tried:Removing the black ink catridge and printing with just colorShaking the color ink cartridgeRemoving and putting back the color ink cartridgePrinting a test page (color doesn't work for this, either- nothing prints at all when I do this)Double and triple checking my print settings The only ink color that my computer says is "low" is yellow. I'm printing wirelessly, but because black ink prints fine, I'm willing to bet there's no connection problems. DO NOT try to sell me more ink; I am already upset with HP enough as it is. The last thing I want to do right now is buy more of its ineffective products. Please help me fix this problem.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 - Now won't print in Black Ink Only!

Hi! After previously owning the Hp Officejet 8500a pro and experiencing numerous issues related to the 'Black Only' printing! We then decided to scrap the HP Officejet 8500a and move on to a new printer! We did a LOT of research into the new printer and at the time of purchasing the 8600 around August 2012 last year, we found no online content of similar issues relating to the 8500.  We even contacted Live HP support to check if the 8600 would print in Black Ink Only with the colours cartridges levels at empty. The HP live chat representative informed us the printer WOULD indeed print in black only with all COLOUR cartridges installed and empty. Since we bought the new 8600, we have replaced just the Black setup cartridge with a Genuine HP Black 950xl. A few days ago all colours where at about 10% levels, apart from the yellow which then ran empty. We have been printing in Black Ink Only with the following message appearing, since the yellow ran out: "Yellow Cartridge out of ink, click continue to print in Black Ink only" As of this morning, the below message appeared with no option to print ink black only! "Depleted cartridges must be replaced to resume printing" The Yellow and now Magenta where out of ink, with no option but to purchase both cartridges, we replaced them and ran off 8 order sheets in Black Ink Only.  Both cartridges where replaced with Genuine HP. Directly after printing these 8 pages, the current Ink Levels are now: Magenta - 100% fullCyan - Has now ran out with a Red X (Annoying!!!)Yellow - Is showing a 10% Ink level with a brand new cartridge installed!!!Black - 40% full 1. Why am I no longer able to print in Black Ink Only with the empty colour cartridges installed?2. Why is the Yellow showing 10% full with a brand new ink cartridge installed full of ink? Does anyone have any advice on how to resolve this, I would very much appreciate some imput. Kind RegardsKev Challis

I know it won't print without a cartrige. I was trying to explain that this "problem" is one that needs to be prepared for in advance by not having empty cartriges installed. I am not trying to find a way around the way the printer is made to function. My printer came with the color cartriges that I plan on having for a long time because I rarely need to print anything in color. The link Jason posted clearly states that this printer, being a IIC, needs all cartriges installed in order for it to print. Here is the section:  For example, a driver color setting (by selecting "print in grayscale with the black cartridge only" in printing preferences) specifies printing using only black ink. In addition, many IPH printers can operate in "reserve mode," which allows the user to continue to print with just the black cartridge when the color cartridge is removed or not installed. In HP IIC systems, all supplies are required to be installed in the printer for the printer to function. (empahsis mine) Why it needs all supplies installed to function? I don't know and don't care. Why does it not print with empty color cartriges installed (the first question of the person that started this thread)? I don't know and it doesn't really matter. Have one set of color cartriges on reserve in case one of the ones you have runs out of ink. Don't want to hassle with this "problem"? Own another printer that is not an IIC inkjet printer.
