IT1000 Short text change in Specific language

Hello Folks,
When i change the short text in one language and delimit for IT1000.Its delimiting in other langague also.
Could please let me know how to avoid this problem of delimiting in other language also.

In standard SAP you can set the configuration to issue a message if the PR is different than the PO.
Examples
055   Purchase requisition &, item &, not released for ordering
056   Purchase requisition &, item &, has a different material number
057   Purchase requisition &, item &, has a different plant
058   Purchase requisition &, item &, has a different supplying plant
059   Purchase requisition &, item &, has different account assignment category
068   Requisition & item & has different purchasing group
076   Materials of requisition & item & alr. ordered in full
However, if there is no material master involved and the text is altered from PR to PO during PO creation, there is very little that can be done. You may be able to check this with some customer exit, but I do not normally use them. Hopefully someone with customer exit knowledge can advise you in that area.

Posiiton short text change does not flow to IT0001

Hi HCM gurus,
We have a scenario where the position short text and long text can change pretty frequently. In this scenario, the new descriotion is not flowing to PA20/30 screens
The position description that flows to PA20/30 screens seems to consider the 0001 begda as the date te be yused for reading hrp1000 infotype for this position.
Am sure we cannot over ride this, but what is the Best practise in this case so that the HR admins see the most current Position description in PA 30/20

and also run the rhinte20/30 reports.

Service short text

Hello,
We are having the following issue, hope you can help me.
We need to save the short text of a service in different languages English and Spanish, and we are login into SAP in both languages.
First we log in SAP in Spanish and execute a Z program that creates and changes services (the Z program uses a CALL TRANSACTION for transaction AC02). This is working fine but when we log on to SAP in English and execute the Z program,the transaction AC02 (in batch input mode) doesn't save the short text of the service in english as we expect, what happens is that the short text in the original language gets changed. Looking on the table ASMDT we see two entries for the service that we wanted to change. One empty with the field spras with an 'E', and one filled with the short text in english but with the spras field with a 'S'.
What could be happening ?

Dear Jesus,
The table ASMDT should actually hold values for multiple languages. I have seen in my system, it does hold values for multiple languages.
Check if you are passing language dynamically based on the logon language.
The key for table ASMDT is Activity Number along with Language Key which means that it should hold one record each for every language.

Material short text difference

Hi Gurus,
my client has created a Po having 2 line items with the same material no. (packing material)
the short text of the material is differ for the one line item.the confusion is how it will happens coz.. the material code is same for the both line items.it should be the same.
I checked in the item changes of the Po.. but no data is appearing regarding the short text changes
please help me how to find out the route cause of the issue..

Hi,
It is possible to change the Material Description while creating PO (ME21N), which will not get recorded as changes for that document. User might have changed during PO creation (in ME21N).
Or check whether 2nd line item has been added later in PO, in change mode and check Material master changes in MM04. It might also happen that before adding 2nd line item in PO, somebody would have chnaged material description in MM02.

Short text in material master

Hello,
When I enter a material in the sales order it throws the following error:
Material ABCD is not defined for sales org XXXX, dist ch. YY, language EN
Please check whether
A short text with the appropriate language exists in the material master record (a short text must be available in the language of either the customer or the sales org)
I have entered the correct material and have maintained the material in the correct sales org, dist. ch. The problem is due to this short text in material master.
The question is where is this short text in the material master?

Dear Shankar,
Please go to MM02 transaction enetr your material number then select the Basic data 1 view go in to that from here you click on Additional data Tab or Cntrl+F6 here you can maintaion the Language for that material under Discriptions tab.
Once again the check the material master is maintainig for sales org XXXX, dist ch. YY or not.

While changing country specific language in ESS 1.50 WDABAP EHP5.
I am able see to both English and country specific language in portal page, it was not changed fully.
Could anyone provide info to change my portal language as per country specific in EHP5.

NWBC< you need to use PFCG
1.     Go to transaction PFCG  Enter Role as u201CSAP_EMPLOYEE_ESS_WDA_1u201Dand then click on display icon Navigate to Roles tab.
2.     Navigate to u201CMenuu201D tab.
You can do so by changing sotr_edit too.

PO short text to be made un-editedable

Hi Experts
PO short text is to be made unedited.
Now, I am able to enter material description in short text in PO before adapting PR wherein the master description will be different than entered earlier. I want to block editing short text of PO before apapting PR and it should flow from master description only. Can any body help on this how to block entering manually in short text. Presently user can enter any description and then adapt PR, so that master description is not reflected in PO.

How to change the short text in a model service specification??

I've tried changing a model service specification using the transaction code ML11 but couldnt change the short text language from German to English.

One possibility is to Maintain the languages in the Additional data tab under description in the material master record for your Services . Please check wether both the languages are maintained or not . Please correct me if i am wrong .

Change PR item short text when created from Work Order

Hello,
Is there a way to edit the PR item short text when the PR is generated from a Work Order. When we open the PR, the item short text is grayed out.
We have created Material Master Number for Contract/ BPA items. When we input that particular material number under the components tab on the WO then release it ,it creates a PR. The Material Master description gets transfered to the PR.
Our issue is that the Material Master is to generic and we would like to change the description on the PR level.
Is this possible?

I think neither there is any way to change the Material Description in PR nor its a good SAP Practise as it is having lot of implecations of stocking , physical inventory , reconciliation etc .
If Item codes are generic suggest if u can use the PR or PO long text to enable the buyer for the procurement & supplier for supply the material as per long text specifications .

Language & Text changes are not saved

I'm trying to change the default language on my MacBook. I dragged the target language to the top of the list in Language & Text, closed System Preferences, and logged out. When I logged back in, English was still the default language and the sort order had not changed in Language & Text. I made the change again, closed System Preferences and reopened it. English was still the default language. The sort order had not changed.
I clicked the "Edit List..." button and deselected all but the two languages. When I closed and reopened System Preferences, all the original languages were displayed.
I can make changes in all the other preference panels and have the changes retained. Just not in Language & Text.

Try clearing your browser cache, and then take another look. The changes are most likely there.

How to display the 'language code' for language dependent 'Short text' ?

I am new to BW.
Can somebody help me with the following issue?
I have an attribute 'Material category description' and I chose short text exists and made it language dependent. I had loaded the master data successfully.
Now I want to know how to check the 'language code' for this material category description. When I display the data, will the language code display by defalult?
I had checked the text table using SE11
It displays the following fields over there.
/BIC/TS1_MCT_DS   [ /BIC/TS1(InfoObject name) ]
LANGU
TXTSH

I went to RSD1 -> info-object -> Master Data/text tab. It shows my language selections there (Short text selected, language time dependent etc.) with everything grayed out.
In SE16, I could display the data in the following format.
/BIC/ST_PRID                TXTSH                 TXTMD
P01                                   umbrella                 rainyday
P02                                  tent                         waterproof
etc.
I want to see the 'language code' as one of the columns in this table.
Can you help me do that?

How to change the Short text of a GUI Status .

Hi Guys ,
   Can any one guide me on how to change the short text of an already existing GUI Status .
I have already tried doing these :Opened the GUI Status in change mode and changed the short texts of the Application tool bar ,
                           Menu Bar ,
                           Function Keys ,
thinking that this will update in the Short text .. but that didnt happen ...
Below is what I need ...
Requirement :
GUI Status : Status_001 .
Short Text : New GUI Status .
Change the Short Text to " Changed GUI Status ' .

Do this...
go to SE80
Open the program.. open node GUI Status
Double click on the status you want to change
go to menu GOTO>ATTRIBUTES>STATUS
click on continue or simply enter
Here change the short text and continue or enter
activate it

Error at PO when copying Short Text Service from Model Serv Specification

Dear Gurus,
I maintained a couple of short text services (No Service Master, No Service Number) under a specific Model Service Specification. I maintained the Price(Condition Type = PRS) for these short text services. However, I'm hitting a problem when I'm copying these services over from this MSS to a PO. For those short text services at the MSS which I maintained the Price(Condition Type = PRS), when I copy them over at the PO, SAP will prompt me to put in a price (even though I have maintained the price at the MSS). However, even after entering a price and pressing enter, I get the following error -> Not possible to determine net value Message no. SE377. I cannot save the PO
Note*: For those short text services whereby I didnt maintain the Price(Condition Type = PRS), everything is fine when I copy it over and put in the price. I can save the PO
Please advise.

It has to do with your customising. Please test the same with using the standard pricing schema MS0000.
Please kindly refer to the below notes as well to solve your problem:

Hierarchy in selection screen shows Short Text, I want to change it to Med

It seems that the selection popup of Hier is using the Short Text of the Charc.
Can I change it to use Med Text?
I tried in the Query, it only changes the way the Hier is presented in the reort
and not in the selection screen.

Hi Edan,
You could select the type of text you want to display on selection screen by choosing the same under the Business Explorer tab of your Hierarchy infoObject.
Go to RSA1 -> infoObject -> find your hierarchy infoObject -> Display -> Business Explorer tab ->
Text type -> Medium-length text.
