ITalk Sync - transferring iTalk recordings to your computer
I just thought I'd say that if anyone has a problem with iTalk Sync connecting to their ipod touch, as I did, I've just solved it. I deleted the application on my computer and downloaded another one, and it now works.

If your ipod is set to automatically sync, the purchased content should sync back to itunes automatically the next time you plug it in. If you are set to manual sync, when you plug your ipod in, you should be able to right click on your ipod and select transfter purchases or something similar. You are not able to re-download content purchased from itunes. It is your responsibility to make a backup of the content once you purchase it. Good Luck!

I sync my iphone with my office computer, but what I really would like to do is syncing only the calendars (because my secretary uses them to set up new apppointments), but syncing all the rest on my home computer. Is it possible without losing apps or music?
Although not recommended, yes.
Disable automatic syncing when the iPhone is connected with iTunes on each computer.
The only item you will have selected for syncing with iTunes on your computer at work will be Calendars, which is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes. Nothing else will be selected under the various tabs for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes on your computer at work. You will get a warning message that your iPhone is associated with another iTunes library on a different computer which you can ignore when syncing calendars/calendar events only with iTunes on your computer at work. -

iTunes on tmy new computer shows none of my data and I fear if I sync my iPod with the computer all will be deleted on the iPod.
I still have everything in iTunes on the old computer.Just move your iTunes library to you new computer. You can transfer iTunes purchases to you new computer from your iPod by:

I have two first Gen Apple TV's and a new MAC Book Pro. I have about 600GB of music and 40GB of photos located on an external hard drive (Western Digital). In the past, I have not run into any issues when syncing music or photos. Recently, I get an error message "iTunes cannot sync to the AppleTV because of a problem you your computer. The required file cannot be found." I noticed this after I added a few folders to my photo folder, which the AppleTV is pointed to for accessing and syncing my photos. I went to the AppleTV to look to see if the new folders were in the photos, but they were not listed and obviously not syncing from the hard drive to the AppleTV.
For trouble shooting, I disconnected my upstairs AppleTV from iTunes, then reconnected, pointed the AppleTV to the applicable music and phots folders on my external hard drive. The music synced fine, but the photos did not sync. I got the same error message.
Does anyone have any advice to what the issue may be??
I read some posts similar to mine and the referenced deleting the iPhoto file cache. I did not try this as I do not use iPhoto as the source for my photos syncing to my AppleTV's.
Thanks - Scott1508Looks like my WD Hard Drive may have an issue. I pointed the Apple TV to the photos folder on my other WD Hard Drive, which is formatted for MAC and it synced the photos fine. I had never had an issue with the first WD Hard Drive, but it was never formatted for MAC.
Not sure if this could be the issue???
I am considering getting an Apple Time Capsule (2 TB) for my back up, but also need a second back up for all my music and photos.
Does anyone have advice on moving to the Time Capsule as my main back up and keeping a WD as the secondary back up?? -
It appears that sync'ingis pretty much one way, from the desktop to the device. If you create a folder on the desktop that is synced through iTunes with the iPhone, that folder appears as an Album in Pictures on the device. But on the device you cannot add photos to that synced Album, so there is no way to use the desktop-based Album as an evolving target for new pictures on the phone, unless you do all the additions on the desktop software.
This really isn't "syncing".
Further, if you create a new Album on the iPhone, it doesn't appear in the sync'ed folders on the desktop.
The configuration for this discussion is iTunes 11 on Windows PC, iPhone 4S, and Windows Photo Gallery for picture editing on the PC.
I'd like to have Albums and PC-based Picture Folders truly sync'ed. Am I missing something or is this truly an iTunes Photo Sync'ing deficiency?The camera roll is not part of the sync process at all.
You should be importing these photos to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera. Youc an organize them on your computer and sync the to the iphone if you wish.
The photos sync from the computer to the iphone is one way.
The iphone mirrors the selected content of the computer to which it is synced. -
Since uninstalling / reinstalling iTunes I am not able to sync iPhotos with my Apple TV with the following warning message stating that this is due to a 'problem on your computer. The disk could not be read from or written to'. Please help!

The ! sign before the song means that the actual song is no longer on your computer and/or iTunes library.

What iOS version are you on ? If 5+ then as I said, you can do it directly on the iPad via Settings > General > Software Update.
If you are on iOS 4 then you will need to connect to your computer's iTunes and transfer purchases and do a backup - updating to iOS 5+ from 4 or below will backup up the iPad, wipe the iPad, install iOS 5.1, and restore your backup and iTunes media content (if you don't transfer purchases and backup then that content will no longer be on the iPad after the update).
