Item Recipe

We are implementing oracle inventory r12 in cement industry. Is this scenario possible in inventory?
Different raw materials are extracted and mixed together to make one that is clinker.
A+B+C=D

Dear Friend
To understand more about problem, please eloborate further more, so that, I can give the exact solution.
In Inventory, you can make use of Items like FG/Semi finished/Intermediate/Raw....etc. hence it is possible to maintain using those items in your inventory.

• PhotoSharing Websites

So i am a new Mac user, and am use to being able to upload many pictures at a time to photosharing websites (I use clubphoto). So I have a MacBook and as far as I can tell, a lot of the websites I have tried aren't supported by my new computer, and therefore I can't use some of the software they have available for batch uploading.
Because of this I have to use the "choose file" function and individually upload all of my photos that I want to share with friends. This takes FOREVER trying to use the "3 methods" others have discussed in these forums (not being able to use the finder because it doen't carry over my naming conventions from my albums in iphoto).
I have been exporting ablums to my desktop and then indivudally uploading each photo to the photosharing website.
There has got to be an easier way?? Any Advice on 1. an easier way to upload photos to an external website, or 2. advice on different applications to use besides iphoto? For an ex-PC user, I can't belevie how frusterating it is to learn iphoto.
(BTW: I don't know what OS I have on my MAC but I just bought one of the MacBooks just before thanksgiving, so i'm assuming its the latest and greatest)

I believe that the ease of uploading to external websites depends upon the websites. As you've learned, some sites are less supportive of Macs. There are many free photo-sharing websites, so maybe shop around for one that is better suited for you.
One that I know of and use is Kodakgallery.com. They have a nifty little app you can download called Ofoto which allows you to upload lots of photos from iPhoto at once. When you share your Kodakgallery albums, others can view online and order prints at a local photo developer (if they want).
Photobucket.com normally will let you upload 5 photos at a time. It also allows for small video clips. And it gives your images URLs so you can link them to webpages. Now it offers an app called Flock which they claim helps you batch upload to their site as well as others. Flock has a Mac version. I have not tried it, but it seems worth looking into.
MyFamily.com is a neat site that lets you share photos, news items, recipes, and other fun stuff with any member of your myfamily site. It allows you to upload 10 photos at a time. Their batch uploading app is only for Windows.
I've seen recommendations here for Twango.com. It's worth looking at, although I can't tell you if they have batch uploading for Mac.
Your Mac will tell you which version of the OS it has. Click on the Apple menu and choose "About this Mac" and a box will pop up with that information.
Yes, there is a learning curve for PC users switching to iPhoto. Hang in there, watch the video tutorials: http://www.apple.com/ilife/tutorials/iphoto/
and browse the forums. Once you get the basics down it gets much easier.

• AMIS recipe for Dynamic Regions or Tabbed/Stacked Item Groups

HI all.
I'm using jdev 10.2 and JheadStart 9.0.4. (10g) for JDeveloper 9.0.3. I'm trying out this recipe and having a problem hiding the content of the inactive tabs. This causes my jsp to display all the regions at the same time. What could be causing this? thanks

• Follow-up question on BOM production and consumption of same item

Awhile back, I asked the question about whether it made sense to have a BOM structured to simultaneously produce and consume an item. BOM that needs to produce and consume same component
Thanks for the help and it does what I thought it should. We have a local difference of opinion on the consumption of primary components, though. To attempt to ensure that we account for the bleed-off of materials into a vacuum system, we set up a BOM like this
Material A    498.379
Material B    332.253
Material C     14.914
Material D     22.371
Material E     64.317
Material F    103.570
Material F -35.804 (This is the quantity vacuumed away, treated as by-product.)
to cover a recipe card structured like this
Material A    481.150
Material B    320.775
Material C     14.400
Material D     21.600
Material E     62.100
Material F     100.00
The difference of opinion is whether to recognize the reclaimed material (Material F) at all on the BOM, with a minority saying that we will not consume (and therefore not order) enough of materials A through E. They say that "you have to put the same amount of good ingredients in as you produce because it's a closed loop system".
So the other approach would be a BOM like this
Material A    534.252
Material B    357.852
Material C     15.840
Material D     23.760
Material E     68.310
The material reclaimed (Material F) is sourced not only from this particular vacuum system, but from other vacuum systems outside the blending operation.
It seems to me that the first approach is correct, because we recognize consumption and production of the reclaimed item, and proportionately increase the component items to recognize that more are needed than will go out as good product. Even the reclaim becomes reclaim. The amounts vacuumed off seem to be consistent at 3.57%.
Which approach is correct?

Thank you for the reply. The reclaimed material can be as much as 11% of the total material made. Last year, over one million kilograms were worked back into the product as reclaim, and the metals are somewhat expensive (not like precious metals, but they are not trivial, either).
Accuracy versus precision is always something to consider, but I think it's important enough to follow, especially because it is sourced from several processes. The sourcing from the other sources means that the reclaimed material from those sources has already been reported as production of the primary product which consumes the virgin materials, so I think it should be re-introduced into the flow as a separate item (Material F)
The primary argument I want to settle is the business about how we won't order enough component materials if we use the BOM that shows simultaneous production and consumption. I think under the approach in which we ignore the reclaim, we will consume more components from the backflush location than we physically use and would then order too much material because of using a BOM that pulls only virgin materials.

• Master Recipe without material

Dear PP Gurus,
I have one query.
I want to create master recipe without material, i have created the same.
Now while creating process order it is giving error,
BOM for material 500000010 does not contain any valid items
Message no. CO636
please guide
thanks in advance
kailash thakkar

Hi Kailash,
What is mean by
I want to create master recipe without material, i have created the same.
What's the reason behind it.
Regarding error CO636,
- Check your BOM of that 500000010 might be components are missing over here.
or
- might be From to To lot size of BOM is not match with your Process order qty.
or
- Also check Valid From to To Date of your BOM.

• How to add/delete items in right click context menu when opening a new link FF17 osx... 6 instances of open link in new identity profile have appeared

The menu items appeared without any idea why, they had not been there before. I have macbook with os 10.6.8 I had been trying to get pdf to work in firefox, so had followed a recipe suggesting enabling the pdf reader part of firefox. Required making 2 adjustments to the about:config. One disabling the browser.preferences.incontent and would changing default of pdfjs. Pdf still won't display, but don't know if what I did is related. Now I am trying to just find out how the menu gets modified at all, and whether I can do so as a user.

A little research revealed addons can add items to context menu, in this case multifox adds option to open tab in new profile for multiple gmail etc logins. I had updated addons earlier, think that triggered it. So now I know why and what it does. The problem is why 6 times listed (instead of just one)... it also varies, sometimes the context menu will have one instance... and have seen as many as 9. Not sure why it varies, but would still also like to know how to modify context menu. Could just be a bug in multifox with FF17 I suppose. I will disable multifox and see if problem goes away.

• I am looking an app to organized recipes and home decor info that I can use offline. Any suggestion?

I am looking for offline apps for the iPad mini that will let me access my information when I am out shopping.
I want to organize my recipes and home decor information in a very portable way so when I unexpectedly come across interesting items I can
- in the case of food, see what other ingredients I need to make a recipe
- in the case of home decor, have measurements and colours to evaluate the fit
I downloaded springpad but my recipes are on their server.
I downloaded Home Design I cannot see how I can add photos and ha curate colour swatches.
Does anyone know of a good app?
Thanks

I did as much research as I could before downloading Springpad and Home Design but was not able to adequately assess these apps to see that they do not meet my needs.
I would like to hear if someone has successfully found and used an offline app.
I may just end up using Pages.

• Pass a value to an item renderer button

I have a datagrid. One of the columns has a value of "@recipe", with is a string that's a URL.
I need to replace this with a link button that goes to this url.
So I created an Item Renderer:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<mx:Canvas xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml">
<mx:Script>
<![CDATA[
private var linkToGoTo:String = XML(data).@recipe
private function goRecipe(event:MouseEvent):void {
trace("Link="+linkToGoTo);
]]>
</mx:Script>
<mx:LinkButton id="related" label="Related Recipe" click="goRecipe(event)" />
</mx:Canvas>
Problem is that I am not getting my XML value. If I did this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<mx:Canvas xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml">
<mx:Script>
<![CDATA[
private function goRecipe(event:MouseEvent):void {
trace(event.currentTarget.label);
]]>
</mx:Script>
<mx:LinkButton id="related" label="{XML(data).@recipe}" click="goRecipe(event)" />
</mx:Canvas>
This works, but of course I do not want the label to be this long URL. How would I do this?

OK, I got it to work like this, not sure if it's the best way:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<mx:Canvas xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml">
<mx:Script>
<![CDATA[
private var relatedRecipe:String
override public function set data(value:Object):void
if(value != null)
super.data = value;
relatedRecipe = value.@recipe
if (relatedRecipe.length>1) {
trace("recipe="+relatedRecipe);
related.visible = true;
} else {
related.visible = false;
private function goRecipe(event:MouseEvent):void {
var linkToGoTo:URLRequest = new URLRequest(relatedRecipe);
navigateToURL(linkToGoTo, "_blank");
]]>
</mx:Script>
<mx:LinkButton id="related" label="Related Recipe" click="goRecipe(event)" textDecoration="underline" fontSize="10" styleName="recipeLinkButton" />
</mx:Canvas>

a new screen appears with a table control..
i m struggling to find how the data in that table control is being populated..
can some1 hlp me with how the line items in the table control are linked to BOM
or any BOM table like KALC etc..?

Hi,
The table control isrendered by the Function module CALCULATION_SHEET
from the function group CO09.
Check the Screen 4000 here.
You are getting the data usig the Routine:

• List recipe (tx. c201) in lsmw using recording method

Hi.
I'm trying to upload master data for recipe list (tx c201), and I'm not so sure which method I should use, i tried with an standard object but it works with idocs and i supposed to configure a lot of stuffs (ibounds, ports, etc), and using recording... how can i handle controls tables when the number of items it's variable?.
Reading through the sdn i realized that it's good to work with two files, one with master data and the second one with detail or item data. Actually i used that method to upload data in lsmw but using a standard direct input program and works pretty good..., but using a recording I don't know how to handle this.
Thanks in advance,
Regards.

Get your test data from functional folks then do the recording based on that. After done with the recording you may delete the existing values(which are used for recording). This is because, for example say you are having the data in an EXCEL sheet and for a particular customer one of the fields is empty. In this case, the DB will be updated with the value provided in the recording.

• ASCP Table name for Recipe 'Preference' field

I have separate Planning and Production recipes for the same item. ASCP is required to plan using planning recipes - and batches would be created manually refererring ASCP output using production recipes (there is business reason for this).
All planning recipes have validity rules with Preference = 1 and production recipes have Preference = 10. As per metalink, ASCP would collect both recipes and try to plan using the Planning recipe. But, if required, it may use the production recipe in a constrained plan. I do not want that to happen ever. To ensure this I want to end date / delete the production recipes in the planning server. But I can not find any field corresponding to Preference in MSC_BOMS and MSC_BOM_COMPONENTS. What is the table name where this preference is saved? Also what impact will this have on open OPM batches - which uses the production recipe?

Hi GeertN,
Thanks once again for the prompt response.
I had seen those two fields (Effectivity_date and disable_date) - but they do not contain the validity rule end date. For example, I have a recipe which is end dated for 5 organizations in source and valid for 1 org. In msc_process_effectivity there is only one row for that bill_sequence_id - and that corresponds to the org for which the recipe is valid. Does that mean the collection process does not collect recipes with end dated validity rules?
Also, I had tried "update MSC_PROCESS_EFFECTIVITY set disable_date = sysdate where... " - but with that MBP seems to have hung (running for 3 hours - when it normally finishes in 40 mins).
Regards.

• Creation of BOM with Items whose qty is not fixed derived from a formula.

Bom need to be created for a finished product whose Item quantities are ot fixed. The scenario is explained below.
Raw milk(cow and buffalo) is a Raw Material recd from Vendors in litres.It is converted to
kg as 1L = 1.027Kg.Finished Header material is Toned milk with Fat 3%
and SNF 8.5%.UOM for FG is in Litre only.
Fat and SNF(Protien)% is measured at incoming stage and recorded and Fat
content will vary from 3 to 6.5% and SNF content will vary from 7 to 9%.
Based on the measured Fat and SNF% value the required Fat and SNF% is
calculated for the Finished Header Material.For each measured value
target Fat% and SNF% will vary.
Then again after calculating the requuired Fat and SNF%,If excess Fat
and SNF found in the raw milk they are extracted. If Fat and SNF
contents are less than the target value additional Fat/SNF will be
added.For extraction and addition they follow certain percentage.
Can pls let us know how to create a BOM for such scenario. I am at Customer
place for implementation.I have given the calculation method below.
Formula used:
1)Available (Fat or SNF) % in 1027Kg = Available (Fat or SNF) % per Kg * Input Milk Qty in Kg(1027)
2)Required (Fat or SNF) % in 1027Kg = Target (Fat or SNF) % per Kg * Input Milk Qty in Kg(1027)
3)Excess/Less (Fat or SNF)% in 1027Kg = Available (Fat or SNF)% in 1027 Kg - Req (Fat or SNF) % for 1027Kg
4)Addition Fat to be added or Extracted = Excess or Less Fat % in 1027Kg * 72%
5)Additional SNF to be added or Extracted = Excess or Less SNF% in 1027 * 95%
Note: 1) In The above formula Available Fat% per Kg of Raw milk may vary from 3 to 6.5%
Note: 2) In The above tformula Available SNF% per Kg of Raw milk may vary from 7 to 9%.

Hi
U need to use master recipes for this kind of scenario(PP-PI)
First Create char like SNF , FAT ect what ever u want to use in formulas
Then assign these char to Batch class (023) and assign to your ROH , HALB, FERT in Classification view
Create BOM for u r FERT and later Master recipe
In Master recipe u can use material calculations using in put char values like % FAT ect
Then u r BOM Comp qty will change automatically as per the % FAT in Raw milk
In this way u can map the req in SAP. I hope this info will be useful

• DMS in Master Recipe

Hello,
I want to link a Document through DMS in the Master Recipe so that I could then access it through the Process Order...
Is there another way, rather than Process Instructions and PRTs, to add the Document?
Thanks for your help!

Hi,
In standard SAp you cannot attach documents in recipe.
The only way is to attach documents in material master or in the BOM header and item levels.
