Items copy from excel to PO, ME21N

This is regarding buying consumable ...No Material master record, Free text
Buyer has list of items [free text items] need to be procured. When he tries to copy from excel [approx 200] to PO line item screen only 10 items are getting copied ..
Can any one suggest please

You can collapse Item Header area and item detail area on PO screen . This way you can copy 30 line itms at a time

Tax code entry in sales order item conditions from excel template

Hi experts ,
I have a requirement , in which tax code in sales order item conditions should be determined from an excel template.
A Z transaction will fetch values from the template & create sales order in which tax code will be detrmined from the template only, irrespective of the value maintained in condition records.
Kindly suggest the way, how this can be implemented. Currently tax code field in item conditions of sales order is greyed out and hence cann't be maintained directly in sales order.
Is there any user exit which can take values from excel template & populate tax code in sales order, bypassing condition records?

Hi Vimal,
I don't understand why you want to read tax code from excel, bcoz what ever criteria you are trying to determine the tax code from excel sheet you can build a condition table and arrive at the appropriate tax code with condition technique.
Just think, if you some how achieve to get the tax code to pick up from the excel sheet, what will happen if you want to change the order after few days or create a subsequent document? the system will try to read the record from the condition records and may go for a toss.
My opinion is, suggest the user/business to use the condition technique and build your condition tables with all possible options and arrive at the tax rate and tax code.
If you still want to go ahead with bespoke develpoment, request you to further specify your requirment so that someone can help you.
I don't think it is the right idea to reinvent the wheel again.

Can't copy from Excel & Paste into Buzzword anymore?

When Buzzword was in Labs, we used it to copy tables from excel and paste them directly into the buzzword doc without any problems. Now when I copy/paste from excel, I am getting text-only versions of my tables (In Firefox 3.0.17) and weird one-cell tables for each data field in IE7.
Did Adobe remove this functionality?

I'm having the same issue as well...UNLESS it's a feature you have to PAY for in which case is sad.

PO prices and condition pricing date copied from previous PO using ME21N

We have defined a default for buyers with the TAB Price Adoption - "copying of conditions from last purchase order" set to Do Not Copy. We have assigned this default via parameter EVO to all of our buyers. When creating a purchase order using transaction ME21N and creating based upon previous purchase order all of the previous purchase order pricing and the condition pricing date is copied over. Isn't this what the parameter is supposed to prevent?
Any suggestions are appreciated.

No, copiing a complete PO is something different than creating a new PO where the price is usually taken from last PO if no price conditions are maintained in an info record.
You prevent only the second case with EVO parameter.

Copy from Excel

Is there a way to copy information from an Excel Spreadsheet and copy it into a table in a Live Cycle Designer form?

Just using a copy and paste would be perfect. How can I get that set up? Every time I try to paste the information, it just puts it all in one field, instead of the whole table.

Upload Sales order item from excel to SAP in VA01 thru frontend

I am a front end user.
SAP version 710.
we enter sales order thru frontend in VA01 in SAP. The data is stored in excel.
Currently the following is performed.
Open VA01. In transaction entry screen ,
Copy from Excel & Paste In SAP the following
SAPID of the Customer
PO No.
PO Date
Then copy and paste the line items from excel block by block i.e. depending on no. of line items seen in SAP per screen, copy that many lines from excel and Paste in SAP.
Then select next block and
SAVE the order.
In excel there are many orders of different customers.
I know litte bit of VBA.
Can this be automated somehow.

to automate the work in the SAP, it requires e.g. SAP GUI Scripting.
1. Please check whether your client is allowed to SAP GUI Scripting. (ALT / F12 -> Options -> Scripting -> Enable Scripting)
2. There should be only an indicator for Enable Scripting.
3.The other two indicators by Notify When ... should be inactive.
4.You would then be able to record a SAP GUI script. (ALT / F12 -> Script Recording and Playback... -> red dot)
5.Please record all that to what you have to do it manually for first record in Excel.
6.Stop recording (record and playback -> yellow dot)
7.Please then present the results here in the forum for your script.
8.Present us also your Excel sheet with some rows.

Copy/Paste more than 64K from Excel to Oracle Forms

We need to copy from Excel more than 64K of data into Oracle Forms 10g. After the copy/paste action. The data will be split and saved in the database. The data contains 6000 fields of each 14 characters.
What we tried: Create a Long field in forms (maximum size 64K) and process the data which is in this field. But by using PLSQL the maximum size is only 32K. So currently we can only copy and process 32K at a time.
Is there a way to process over 64K from an excelsheet via Oracle Forms 10g R2?
Can it be done via Java and how?
Is it possible to read the clipboard in parts of 30K blocks and paste it in the Long field block with multirecords?
Restrictions:
We are not allowed to do file upload and process it on the server side.

In the form, you can use Text Items that have datatype as long, so you can strore 64K.
I do not understand the problem with the PL/SQL, because you can pass 32Ko chunks as many as needed.

Copy and paste from Excel to Word, tabs get messed up intermittently

I use a couple templates I've developed for quoting and have trouble using them since I've switched to Windows 8.1, and Office 2013. I copy from Excel and paste into windows. When I first installed the new software it worked fine. Then
it started doing crazy things with the tabs. A column in Excel would be way wider in Word to the point my table would be off the screen. Then it got better. Then it got bad again. The problem seems to be intermittent. I just re-installed
Office. No change.
I saw one person's note about having the file you are copying to open or closed when copying from Excel. Tried that but no change. Any ideas? So two problems:
1. pasting doesn't work
2. the software seems unstable
Just discovered a work around. I think, since the problem does seem to come and go. The template was initially developed in Office 2010. It works fine in 2013, except for pasting apparently. When I recreated the template in 2013, it
seems to paste correctly - so far.

This is probably just like what you've discovered, these are old templates created in Office 2010, which might have compatibility issue.
Re-created them within Office 2013 should fix this.

Search and replace, contents from excel file

I have the list in the excel file which needs to replace. The script should read the excel then replace to the opened InDesign documents.
The excel(*.xls) file has two columns, first column has old nos. and the second column has the new numbers to replace.
Ex:
Column 1               Column 2

this is a very radical method, because:
1. you don't limit your changeGREP() to a specific table column (possibly the searched texts are found in other strings around the document and changed as well!)
2. you are in trouble if a certain value you want to change exists more than one time (not likely, but who knows?) and you want to change it in diffrent values per instance. That will fail.
If we deal with only ONE column of ONE table, to address issue 1 I would ask the user to select the column of the table and instead of:
app.documents.item(0).changeGrep();
I would use:
app.selection[0].changeGrep();
I don't hope issue 2 will apply in this case.

However, in the case of only one column of one table to change AND if the new excel file contains ALL entries in the exact order (both all old and all new values), you could change the contents of the column by copying from excel to InDesign. No script necessary. The formatting of the old cells will be retained.
You cannot do that by placing the new table to InDesign and copy/paste the new column to the old one, because the formatting of the copied column will be transferred as well (paste without formatting is not an option here).

Cannot Cut and Paste From Excel

I am trying to simply cut and paste from Excel into the Xcelsius spreadsheet. Even though the user manual indicates to copy from Excel and right click where you want to paste, the Paste and Paste Special functions are greyed out. It is almost like the cells are locked or protected somehow. I selected Formal Cells -> Protection and unlocked the cells but still nothing. Any ideas? Excel 2007

It seems your workbook was locked. Try the following... it might help you.
I know some of you out there have hit this problem in the past and now we have a workaround...
If you try to add/remove/modify a worksheet in the Xcelsius embedded Excel and you can't do it.
1. Start to unprotect the workbook:
Office 2007 (Ribbon menu in Xcelsius or Excel). Select Review > Protect Workbook > Protect Structure and Windows.
Office 2003 (menu only in Excel). Select Tools > Protection > Unprotect Workbook.
2. You will be prompted for a password.
3. This is the password (the O is an uppercase o):
fazOh1+u
4. Click OK and the spreadsheet should no longer be locked.
Let me know if still your problem exists.

Problems pasting from Excel 2008 to Numbers

I'm trying to make the switch from Excel to numbers and ran into the following problem.
If I cut a group of cells from Excel 2008 and try paste it into Numbers it does not work.
I can paste into another place in Excel, Stickies or OpenOffice, but not Numbers.
I can double click a cell in Numbers and paste all the copied into a single cell, but this is not what I want.
Is this a Numbers problem or Excel 2008. Since I can paste from Excel to programs other than Numbers, it seems like a Numbers problem
Anyone else have this problem.

Very weird! I don't think your table is too simple.
I tried a simple table and it failed.
In fact I can copy the table from Numbers and paste it into Excel 2008
But when I copy the same table from Excel and try to paste into Numbers, it fails.
I can however paste into stickies.

New line duplicated when import from Excel

An SQL server (2014) field of type nvarchar(MAX) is populated directly by pasting data copied from Excel.
In corresponding Excel cell there are several "\r\n" (CR/LF), but after pasting it seems like each "\r\n" is duplicated. How to paste and get the same number of "\r\n" as the originating cell value ?

Actually I used SSIS import (by starting the wizard from Management Studio: Right click Database and choosing Tasks/Import Data... which starts DTSWizard.
So the problem was actually showing up when using SSIS import...
On the other hand, when directly pasting the same data (by using something like Management Studio, right click Table and choosing "Edit Top 200 rows"), only the first line (the text before the first "\r\n") is kept and prepended by a
double quotation mark (") which is a loss of data and of course an even bigger issue.
And silly me, my statement was wrong again (and all the time).
I was fooled by C# (theStringFromDatabase.Split("\r\n".ToCharArray());) actually returned with the empty strings (lines) between the "real" lines, don't understand why though.

Account assignment for service item not copied from PR in PO

Hi,
We have a PR created for a service item from SRM. When we run ME59 it automatically creates the PO without issues by copying the account assignment details from the PR. The problem is as follows:
1. If we try to manually create a PO using ME21N from this PR, the account assignment is not getting copied from the PR but it throws the account assignment pop up screen where we manually have to enter the account assignment.
2. The client is using a Z transaction of ME59 which is copy of Me59 but with a few validations (nothing to do with Account assignment). This Z Tcode also fails to create the PO with the error 'no account assignment'. Indicating that the PR account assignment details are not getting copied.
Note: This is happening for all PR's irrespective of whether its created in SRM or created using ME51N.
Please let me know if someone has faced a similar issue

Option 1: Goto ME21N, In item Overview move to right side to 4th last column "Purchasing Doc." enter your PO number & press enter, PO will get copied if 1 item is there , otherwise if more than 1 item in PO then it will ask for which item Number you want to copy.
Option 2: Enter ME21N T.Code
Click u201CDocument Overview onu201D
Click u201CSelection Variantu201D and Select Purchase Orders and Enter your PO No. & execute
you will be able to view in document overview the PO No & Item No,
Select the PO you need to copy & Click u201CAdoptu201D and you will see all PO details related copy to new PO which you can save.
Option 3: Enter ME21N T.Code
Click u201CDocument Overview onu201D
Click u201CSelection Variantu201D and Select Purchase Orders and Enter your PO No. & execute
you will be able to view in document overview the PO No & Item No,
Now select 1st item and press Shift button(or you can also use Ctrl button on your keyboard for randomly selecting the line item) & with mouse select all line items and click 'Adopt' button (next to selection variant button).
All the 100 items will get copied in the New PO.
