I keep getting an error message saying 1400 photos cannot be synced to my ipad (original) and to see itunes for more information but I cannot get help. It will only sync older events from iphoto to my ipad, please help. Do I need to do a restore? Also, iphoto crashes a lot when doing photo editing

Hi Simmm ~ I just purchased iphoto '11 (was using '09) on my imac. Iphoto has been crashing for a few months now, especially when I retouch any photos. I am hoping upgrading to a better version of iphoto will do the trick. I am going to buy the new ipad on Friday ~ so I would do a restore on my original ipad after that anyway so I can give it to my husband. I will let you know if this works ~ thanks SO much for your reply! Oh and ... if I do a restore, how do I get all my ipad apps back? Will they still be in itunes when I sync?

Only some of my photo's are syncing from iPhoto to my iPad, iPhone and Apple TV.
It may be my own fault due to learning Aperture and playing around with the locations of the Master Files.
The thing I don't understand is that when in iPhoto all thumbnails of all photo's are able to be enlarged / edited etc. When a thumbnail is clicked on there is no gray triangle with an exclamation mark indicating that the link to the original photo can't be found. I would have thought this was ok for syncing to take place.
When trying to sync through iTunes to my iPad for example (after some photo's have been synced) a window comes up saying "Some of your photos, including the photo “_MG_3820.jpg”, were not copied to the iPad “Mark Harlen’s iPad” because they cannot be displayed on your iPad".
I thought this may be due to lack of memory space but my Apple TV (which has the same issue but not the same warning window) has over over 100 free GB's so that can't be it.
When I did a test and re imported one photo that wasn't being synced to my other devices, that photo consequently was then synced so maybe it has something to do with the path through iPhoto to the original files.
Is there any way I can re establish these links with out having to create an entire new iPhoto library from the originals (I have a lot of albums and have done a lot of editing etc and don't and want to have to do it all again).

Thanks for the advice but it didn't seem to work
I've decided to try ditching iPhoto and orgainising, syncing my photo's to all devices from Aperture
I have so far imported over 1200 photo's (relocating and renaming the master files as well) and find that when syncing through iTunes only 209 photo's are listed. The Projects/Albums are there but some indicate that there are 0 photo's in them when I know other wise (at least according to whats happing in Aperture)
I'm starting to suspect it may be a computer problem
Any thoughts?

PS: Just after posting this I restarted my computer, went into iTunes and my Apple TV started to sync. It was now syncing 854 photo's not 209 as before.

Why wont videos sync from iphoto to my ipad mini?

I'm having trouble getting my videos to show up in the photo library on my ipad.
Some videos work, others dont appear at all, only a message stating that some items did not copy over.

Some of my pictures will not sync from iPhoto

I have an original iPad and an iMac (Early 2009) running Lion. All of my pictures won't sync from iPhoto to the iPad. I used to get an error message when I was running Leopard, before upgrading to IOS 5 on the iPad. I no longer get the error message, but some events just won't transfer. I seem to remember something about optimizing pictures??
Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks! I thought I had done that, but I was deleteing the wrong cache. It was important that I deleted the cache in the iPhoto directory, which I couldn't figure out how to access. I needed to use the "Show Package Contents" option on the dropdown menu of the "iPhoto Library" folder.
All is fixed and I have all my pictures on my iPad.

Can no longer sync photos from iPhoto to my iPad or iPhone

I can no longer sync from iTunes to my iPad or iPhone if I want to sync photos from iPhoto. I keep getting the following error:
"The iPad "XXXXXXXXXX" cannot be synced because it cannot be read from or written to."
If I choose not to sync photos everthing works fine.

I looked it up and it said delete the iphoto cache, which I did and I also turned of syncing photos.

I add the keyword 'sync' to any photos I want added to the iPhone/iPad.
Then, during the regular process of syncing the iPhone/iPad with my computer (mac), the photos with that keyword would be copied onto the iPhone, iPad.
I've been doing it this way ever since I was shown how to; ie after I got my iPhone 2 years ago. And every time the process worked - until the last few weeks. Suddenly it doesn't do it any more.

I get a message when syncing from iPhoto because a .mov file cannot be played on my iPad. What options do I have besides checking [] Do not warn me again?

That will be a way to get it to my iPad. I expect it will still fail to synchronize with my iPhoto.

Only iTunes purchased music can hava a cloud icon and then only if the music was purchased with the account listed in Settings>iTunes and App Store on the iPod.
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?

If yes, connect and select iPad in Mac Tunes, choose Photos tab (right panel, top), select album then click sync.
