Itinerant onsite working - managing mail accounts

Hi
Hope you've had a good weekend... thanks for stopping by.
I have a fair number of different email accounts... [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]
The thing I crave is that when I pitch up at the offices of one-client.com for a day's work on-site the other email accounts just don't appear at all in Apple Mail. At the moment when Mail boots up I immediately take the accounts offline and select only the inbox of the one I want to see and click the little arrow against "inbox" to close up the list, then I connect to the LAN... it all feels a bit of a chore (though I suppose it's not really). *Question: Is there a way to set up a one-click way of doing this... staring me in the face perhaps?*
I've considered creating User accounts on my Mac to achieve this and the idea doesn't appeal... when I'm not on-site, but working at home I want to see all the accounts all the time.... it's a question of discretion... one-client.com's business is nothing to do with the others and vice-versa...
Thanks for ideas/pointers.
Cheers

And here is the solution !
System Preferences > .Mac > delete account informations (ID and password)
(Now that we had to migrate to iCloud, .Mac is no use any more !
A pity that « migration ».  Shame on you Apple !  What about all those materials working fine… till end of June; do we have to trash all of them ?  For me, it 6 machines : 2 iMacs, 2 iPhones and 2 iTouch !

  • Why can't I set-up my work e-mail account?

I am having trouble setting up my work e-mail account (Outlook 2003)? I have downloaded mail 2003 for Outlook 2003 (someone recommended this app) and tried enterprise setup but I keep getting the error message "unable to verify account information".  I am able to get my personal e-mail without difficulty. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Are you sure you are using the correct settings for you work email - correct mail servers, etc? It might be helpful to ask your tech department at work for the specific information you need for your account.

  • Managed mail accounts on mobile homes randomly recreating with %@@host...

    Hi
I use WGM to setup mail on mobile accounts for our users, but I get this weird issue where a new mail account suddenly is created with %@ourhostname.com. I cant find a pattern to when, and who this happens to. I myself have a Mac Pro, and a laptop with the same setup. When I got in to work today, the %@ account had been created on my desktopsystem, but not on the laptop. We haven't had any downtime to our OD Master, or any network problems. The logs doesn't really say anything on either server or client.
    Anyone seen this before?

  • Using Mail to monitor my work e-mail account

My employer has its own e-mail server and it uses XP/Outlook. I want all of my work e-mail to show up in my Mac Mail account. (I have my MacBook Pro connected to the internet at all times.)
I went through the File/Add Account thing. I then got the followoing message:
"The server error encountered was: The connection to the server "mail.[my employer's name].com" on port 995 timed out."
    Here are my questions:
    1. Regarding the message, is that a problem with my employer's server or something I did?
    2. When I compose a message in Mail, how can I choose whether it is sent from my personal Mail account or my employer's account?
    3. When I reply to a message, is it automatically sent from the same account it came into?

    > 1. Regarding the message, is that a problem with my employer's
    server or something I did?
Most likely, you haven’t set up the account correctly. Are you sure it provides POP access and uses SSL, which is how you appear to have configured it?
    2. When I compose a message in Mail, how can I choose whether it
is sent from my personal Mail account or my employer's account?
This is explained in Mail Help’s “Setting the account your email is sent from” article.
    3. When I reply to a message, is it automatically sent from the
    same account it came into?
This is explained in Mail Help’s “How is the "From" address determined in a new message or a reply?” article.

  • Sync says it is working, but Mail account is not imported to iPhone

So I this problem with syncing my basic mail account with my iPhone. It is an IMAP mail server account and it works fine on my Macbook. I have the setting in iTunes showing that the sync should include the one mail account on the Macbook (it is checked off).. When I performa sync, it says that it is syncing and I do no get any error messages.. but once done, the account does not show up on my iPhone.
I have had to add the account manually to iPhone in the meantime. But my mobile me account is not working as I would expect and I think it comes down to the sync not happening correctly in the first place.
Any idea what could be causing this issue with me not syncing properly?

What is the issue with the MobileMe account?
Try the Advanced option on the Info tab which allows you to replace email accounts on the iPhone with email accounts from your MacBook.
If that does not work try Resetting the Sync History from the iSync applications preference window, as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TA23030

  • Delete E-Mail Accounts Without Removing Them from All Computers

I lost a hard drive on my MacBook Pro and had to re-insall Yosemite and all of my apps and data. I started setting up my e-mail using Apple Mail on my laptop, adding accounts to it. As I added accounts, apparently iCloud decided to add them to my Apple Mail on my work computer, an iMac running Yosemite. I do share my iCloud account between the two machines, but in the past, I didn't share e-mail accounts, except for my .me account and my work e-mail account. Now, I have all of my personal e-mail accounts on my iMac, which I do not want.
When I go to delete an account in Mail, it shoots me over to the Internet Accounts pane in System Preferences. If I start to delete the account, I get the following message:
"Do you want to remove the Mail account “[email protected]” from all your computers using iCloud Keychain or turn it off on only this Mac?
Removing from all computers using iCloud Keychain will remove it from this Mac and “Name of My MacBook Pro”."
I want to remove the account from my work computer, but I do NOT want it deleted from my MacBook Pro.
How do I get around this? I'm assuming something is set up in iCloud to cause this and I want it stopped.

Okay then, you need to make sure that your phone isn't able to delete your emails from the server by accessing your email account settings and looking for the correct setting. As I don't have a CenturyLink email account I'm unable to point you to the correct setting I'm afraid. You might be able to change your email account to an IMAP account which might be a better option for you.
In the meantime, you can still read your emails on the phone and delete them later using your PC which is how I manage one of my email accounts (POP3). My other IMAP accounts always keep a copy of my mail on the server.

I set up my work e-mail account on my iphone 4S.  When I try to send an e-mail message from my phone, an error message occurs "Cannot Send Mail" - "recipient was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying".  What does this mean and how do I correct it?

  • Autocomplete by mail account

Okay, I may be asking for too much. I have four e-mail accounts set up on my Mac Mail. I love the autocomplete feature, but would like the autocomplete list to be executed by mail account. What I mean is that I sometimes send a mail (using autocomplete for the To: field) and then realize I sent it from the wrong e-mail account (I have my accounts set up to use only the respective server to send mail). For example, I want work-related mails to go out only from my work e-mail account, not my Gmail which is my personal e-mail account. But, if I am reading my Gmail (on Mac Mail of course) and send a mail to a work colleague, it autocompletes the e-mail address although I have never sent a mail to my colleague previously from the Gmail account. And it's only after I send it, I go Oops!
That is, Mail autocompletes the To: field regardless of from which account mail has been sent to that recipient. If Mail stores the autocomplete list by account, it would  not autocomplete in such a case and that would alert me that I am in the wrong account. I know I could double-check each time I send a mail whether I am doing it from the correct account, but then that is what automation is for.
Not sure if I have made my problem clear. Thanks for any help on a possible solution. Btw, I am using Mac Mail 6.1 and OS 10.8.2 on a Macbook Pro, if that helps. Also, only some of my recipients are in my Address book.
    Thanks.

Your problem is that messages do not have an associated account
If you look at Mail.app's dictionary you'll see there's no account property for a message.
Your options are to consider the account of its associated mailbox:
if name of account of mailbox of eachMessage is "Exchange" then
    or look at the recipients:
if to recipients of eachMessage contains "[email protected]" then

  • Work Management Service Application

does anyone have a step by step guide on how to create from scratch a work management service application, i have deleted mine due to issues with task syncs i think it was the configuration of this application that was causing this issue,
    any help welcome.
    Cheers

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to create Work Management Service Application.
The following Service Applications must be provisioned before you can deploy the Work Management Service Application:
    Search
    User Profile
In addition to this, the Work Management service account must have some further permissions configured:
Full Control on the User Profile Service Application
    Grant Access To Process Identity
To Create Work Management Service Application, Navigate to Application Management in SharePoint central administration, select Manage Service Application link. In Service applications page, create new Work Management Service Application, and specify the
    details.
After re-create a new Work Management Service Application, we need to:
Create a new Application Pool, but use the same account as for the Application Pool hosting your My Sites/Social or Portal.
    Run a crawl
Incremental, continuous or full crawl should suffice.

Just to be sure I'm understanding correctly, if you send an e-mail from a working e-mail account to your .Mac account, you get an "undelivered mail" message back on the sending account? This suggests to me that the account you're trying to access doesn't actually exist. Are you sure you're typing the user name (the part before the @) correctly?

  • New Mail Account Setup

I just setup a new work e-mail account on Mail on my iMac. For some reason it is not appearing on my iPhone even after I check the box 'Replace information of this iPhone - Mail Account' under the 'Advanced' Option in the 'Info' tab in iTunes.
Am I doing something wrong? I don't remember having to physically set up my MobileMe account on my iPhone. Everything seemed to just sync.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

MobileMe syncs over the air but you will need to sync your work account through iTunes.
Connect your iPhone, make sure "Sync selected mail accounts from" is ticked in the Mail Accounts section of the Info tab and that "Mail" is selected in the drop down box and then sync. How the mail-box on your phone now operates alongside the mailbox on your Mac depends on which protocol you are using to connect to your work e-mail account (IMAP or POP) or if it is an exchange server account with push enabled. If it's not exchange, you might find IMAP more useful as it will ensure all mailboxes are kept in sync. POP is really an old protocol designed when people only used one mail client. If you need any further assistance, I am happy to help.

  • Can't manage the mail accounts in Mail App

The Windows 8.1 has a build-in mail app-Windows Live Mail. I set up my email accounts at the first time I run it without any issues. However, I can't find any way to manage these accounts. The interface doesn't look like the traditional mail app in Windows 7 which has a ribbon on the top. There is no ribbon, no function key for the account management. The windows 8.1 manual instructs to use the function key in the ribbon. How can I bring the ribbon show up or any way to manage the email accounts?
    Thanks.
