ITines 9.2 will not allow sorting songs in playlists

Using iTunes 9.2 and OS 10.5.8, none of the playlists allow sorting. That column has only the one arrow for reversing the alphabetic order of songs. I created a new user and the issue is the same. Shuttle is off for both users' settings.
Using iTunes 9.1.1 in OS 10.4.11 on this came computer, no problem.

Fields? Is that the same as column headings? I have Name, Time, Artist, Album, Size, and Bit Rate. When I click a heading, the songs arrange in accordance with the heading category: click Time makes the shortest song at top; click Artist puts artists named beginning with A at the top. All of that works fine. The problem is that the option to drag songs to arrange their playing order is missing, gone, not there.
As I mentioned before, this is a problem with my original user and with a new user called "test" that I made. In "test", when I first launched iTunes, I got the license agreement, "Do you want iTunes to search for all your stuff", etc. After going through that, I added three songs to the library, and made a new playlist. It has no option to drag the songs to arrange a different playing order.
On this same computer, I also have OS 10.4.11 installed with iTunes 9.1.1. That iTunes works perfectly. Just now, I renamed ~/Library/Music/iTunes
to iTunes-9.2, and then launched iTunes 9.1.1. Then I added three songs to the library, and made a new playlist. It sorts fine. Should I toss iTunes 9.2 and download a new one (for PPC Leopard)? If so, from what address?

My IPod nano 6 connects to my library but will not receive new music and playlists

My ipod 6th generation will not receive new songs and playlists from my library on my PC. My ipod shows up in the itunes library when I connect it. It syncs when it is plugged in to computer but the sync is very short. I changed to a new computer back in September 2013. My old one crashed. I have synced my ipad 2 and my iPhone 4S to itunes library on the new computer. All these devices show up in the "manage my devices" list except my ipod 6th generation. There is no "add device" to this itunes account, only an option to deauthorize the computer, the iPhone or the ipad.
The ipod downloaded songs that I added to my computer library on my new computer, but will not add new purchased songs nor library playlists.
My computer is shared with my husband. His user account on the same computer shows up in my "manage devices" section of my itunes account. He doesn't use it. I thought I had to add my itunes on his part of the computer because his is the "main user".
I'm not sure what to do. Should I take my computer, iPhone, ipad and nano to an appointment at the Genius Bar at the Apple Store? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I kept working at this after posting. On the sync page for the ipod on itunes library I chose to remove the iPods association with my old computer. It erased all the old content from the old computer and then put all my checked songs from the new computer on my iPod nano.

I updated my itunes and ipod and everything. I've had my ipod for a year now and have never had a problem like this. I drag my songs from my music folder onto my ipod itunes area and it says it's putting it on my ipod but when it finishes the song(s) are nowhere to be found. I have like 2500 songs on my ipod and numerous videos so it's not like I've never done this before. It only happened when I updated to the new iTunes so I figured I'd uninstall it and put back the old itunes I had which was iTunes6.0.5 and I get this error now when I try and open it:

I installed itunes 06 and now it will not allow me to put my purchased songs on my ipod. I get the notice that my computer is not authorized. Yet, each time I try to authorize it, I receive the notice that authorization was successful and there is only one computer authorized. I never had this problem before I installed itunes '06. My Photos app works the same on iOS 5 as it did on iOS 4 i.e. I can have a different track for each album. When I select a track for a photo album I then start the slideshow so that it shows the first couple of photos with the track playing - I'm not sure it's necessary to start the slideshow but I always do and it remembers that track for that album.

Have you tried syncing the iPhone to your computer and restoring from the backup to see if you can get your other songs back? If you purchased the new album with your Apple ID, you should be able to download it to your computer to sync.

Hey! I had the same problem you did just today when I was trying to get my second iPhone to sync. What you need to do with music or anything extra that you doing you have to creat a second playlist or picture or anything that you would like to use, so that you can add to the second device that you are going to be using. I am not sure if that will help but it helped me out a lot!! Good luck!

I never heard of that problem before. I I can suggest is the stand fixes:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

Ipod Mini will not allow me to add any songs.

Ok so i have a Ipod Mini.. It worked PERFECT until my last update. My itunes is fully updated (1.4.1). I was about to drag my new songs to my Itune Playlist, and it wouldnt let me. As soon as i would let the song drop in the play list this would come out "file:/C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/admin/Shared/T,does not seem to be a valid podcast url. Pleasecheck that you have entered the correct URL and try again." I am not sure what my podcast URL was..And i dont really know where i can view my podcast url so i can fix it ..

After you click "no" to that message, use one of the suggestions here to get the music from your iPod back to iTunes.

There's also another method I've seen posted. I've successfully tested this across several different Windows PCs.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
However it appears that no playlists or any other info such as ratings/last played etc will transfer.
If this is important to you, you may want to use other options.
There's Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer.
Once you are sure that the music is safely back in iTunes (and not before), you can click "yes" to that message, associate the iPod with your new iTunes installation and start using the iPod and iTunes as normal.

HT1491 My iPad only shows one song from a whole album I purchased on iTunes from my Macbook. iTunes only shows the album as purchased but will not allow me to download to iPad.

Thanks for the reply! I am using the same username for my Macbook and iPad but had to update my Apple ID to a current email. After I did that I updated my iPad to the current system and then my iTunes stopped recognizing my purchases. It wasn't until JUST NOW that my original Apple ID would allow my password to delete itself from the iPad. So the issue seems solved now. User error.
