ITMS error "network connection was refused"

Whenever I click the search button to the right of certain songs in my itunes library to send me to their page in the music store, I get an error pop up saying "Network Connection was refused". But I can still enter the music store using the main link in itunes. These songs also won't retrieve their Album art (especially the Comic relief tracks) when I select the option in the menu once they are in my library. This problem only seems to occur with a hand full of songs.
Any ideas on how to fix this would be most appreciated.
Thanks

I got it to work.
You have to uninstall iTunes and Quicktime and iPod updater.
Then install iTunes 6.0.1 and download the standalone Qucktime. And then download then iPod updater. Then install Quicktime and the updater.

  • Network Connection Was Refused - PLEASE help me this time...

To be perfectly honest, I'm quite irritated. I want answers. And if there is no answer, I want someone to tell me such. I've posted three times before, twice on someone else's topic, and once on my own. This is my last ditch effort. PLEASE help me. I really enjoy the use of your product, and I don't want to give up on it.
Many people are having issues with their network connection. I know I'm not the only one. Some diagnostics say the connection to iTunes works, but for some reason still won't open the music store. In my case, it says it isn't.
I went to my parents' house this holiday and stole their broadband high speed internet connection, hoping that the new connection might make iTunes work. Nope. So now I'm fresh out of ideas.
Here is the information I posted on an earlier post below. PLEASE help me answer my question. I'm really missing my iTunes. It's been a long time since I've had it, and there are a bunch of songs I plan to download if I am able to get it back. Thank you so much!
I downloaded the newest version of iTunes, without realizing that there were so many problems with it. The installation went off without a hitch, and it was able to open up my library. However, whenever I try to access the music store, the message "iTunes could not connect to the Music Store. The network connection was refused. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again" appeared. I tried redownloading it, but that didn't solve the problem. I got frustrated, and finally was able to download 7.01. That didn't work either. So I downloaded the older version that I used to have. The same error message appeared. NOW I'm mad, because I can't even get the older version back. I want my older version back... I never had a problem with your products before, but right now I'm slowly losing faith. PLEASE help me.
I can't run a diagnostics on my network connection anymore, but I had posted my first diagnostics on the old post, referencing back to when I was still trying to fix the newest version. I'll post the diagnostics below the post.
I have a wireless connection, since I live in an apartment complex right now. I didn't have the same connection type when I first downloaded iTunes a year or more ago, but I was able to work iTunes under this connection before I uploaded.
Please help me. I want my music store back.

Since I updated to the newest version of iTunes I have had this error message:
"iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. The network connection was refused. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network correction is active, then try again."
Is this most likely a problem with the functioning of my Norton Internet Security 2007 with the new iTunes software?

Here is the Diagnostic information, in case this helps anyone understand me better. I genuinely appreciate any feedback or suggestions.

  • ITunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. Network Connection was refuse

I'm getting this error which I'm sure that many people are familiar with. "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. Network Connection was refused" It was working perfectly fine on 9.1 even with my Norton security on. I upgraded to 9.2 and all of a sudden getting this message. I tried:
    - Completely removing and reinstalling iTunes.
    - Tried the Terminal solution
    - Removed Norton suite
    - Checked proxy settings
    - Added application to firewall settings to allow incoming connections.
    - Ran disk Utility to repair permissions
Still no luck. Any other suggestions that I could try to resolve this pain in a** issue?

Also tried connecting via Ethernet. Still no luck.

  • Store sign in error "network connection was lost"

I'm trying to sign into my iTunes account and it keeps telling me: "We could not complete your iTunes store request. The network connection was lost."
But I am still connected to my network and able to get on the internet. I have rebooted my Macbook and I am still getting the same errors
I am running MB Pro, Snow Leopard 10.6.7, and iTunes 10.5.2.
I get this error if I try to sign in or out of my iTunes account.

Yeah, I also reset the router and cable modem but that didn't do anything. It's so frustrating, everything that Apple does is so intuative and usually so user friendly but iTunes has been one big headache for me from the beginning, between me, my wife, 2 daughters and son, we have 3 iPhones and 5 iTouches, and I have the house iTunes account, and a work one, my wife has a work and my daughters have ones at their stepmothers house also, now trying to keep these all synced is a nightmare!! All I want is to be able to plug in whatever I have an update the software of drop daughter A's Cody Simpson CD on daughter B's iTouch... but since it's synced with her mother's computer she's out of luck, and that *****.

  • Indesign CS3 error: "Network connection was lost..."

    Hi
Anybody out there experiencing this error message when working in Indesign on Snow leopard? "Network connection was lost..."
Funny thing is the machine is not connected to a server or internet.
The indesign doc had been fine, saved it, closed it, reopened it and exported a pdf. When I went to re-open it, the error came.
Now, I read online that there have been issues with renaming docs, or folders, possibly with relocating them. Someone else suggested it may be a registry problem.
This problem is NOT fixed by trashing preferences or by repairing permissions or disk.
    Thanks!

    Hello Studio Guy,
I was just searching the forums to see if anyone else was experiencing the 'network connection was lost' issue from InDesign CS3 and came across your note.
Did you manage to find a solution for this?
We work on a network on PCs using Vista and we are getting this error message regularly and have no idea why.
Like you say this problem is NOT fixed by trashing preferences or by repairing permissions or disk.
    Did you find a solution?
    cheers,
    A

  • Couldn't connect. "Network Connection was Refused"

I've seen the "Network Connection has Timed Out" but I'm getting "Refused." Any suffestions?

I have the same problem, I need some help also.

  • I can't connect to itunes via my computer - the error I am receiving is: Itunes cannot connect to the store.  The network connection was refused.  I am on the internet and I know that is working.  Please help.

I can't connec to itunes but my internet is working fine

SO we rule out Winsock provider issue.
Can you try these entries in command prompt (Run as Administrator for Win7/Vista) one at a time?
    ipconfig /release
    then
    ipconfig /renew
    restart computer
    ipconfig /flushdns
totally shut down computer then restart.
    netsh winsock reset all
    restart computer
Now test your iTunes again. If that does not work, uninstall your Antivirus program and test again.

  • Itunes could not connect to store, the network connection was refused.

Safari doesn't work either because it "could not connect to server" but the wierd thing is that Mozilla Firefox works.
    Could someone help me out??
    Thanks

For all who are still fighting this problem. I figured out why it stopped for me... Web Proxy was set (turned on) for the local machine (127.0.0.1).
I had installed and subsequently removed the trial version of KidsGoGoGo, a parental control application for MAC. I had tried everyone elses suggestions for fixing this iTunes Store connection problem - all to no avail. I last tried the OpenDNS solution which also did nothing... Although I may stick with it to see if it truly speeds up name resolution. Changing my DNS entries reminded me that one of the steps in configuring KidsGoGoGo was to set up web proxy to point to the local machine (127.0.0.1). I looked at the settings there, and realized it was still set. I removed the check for web proxy... and now all is well.'
    Hope this helps someone else.
    Regards,
    Michael

  • Hi, I am trying to update an iPhone 4 from iOS 4.3.3 to iOS 7.0.4, and every time I try to update it comes up with an error message saying that there was a problem because the network connection was reset. Is there any way I can get past this and update?

    The full message said:
There was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone "Judy's iPhone 4". The network connection was reset.
Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later.
I am trying to update the iPhone for my grandmother, Judy, as I am leaving for Paris on Wednesday night and we want to have Facetime installed on her iPhone before then, so we can stay in contact with each other. It is the simplest way for this to happen but the program simply will not allow me to update her iPhone.
Is there any way to get past this error and update her iPhone? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
