ITMS previews won't play on iPad

When I launch the iTMS on my iPad, I can't get any music to preview. it flashes momentarily, then stops. Same thing with a movie. If I click the trailer image, the screen shifts momentarily to the video player, then shifts back to iTMS. I've tried rebooting the iPad, and using it both with and without headphones, no luck.
This is an iPad 2, running the latest iOS. I have no problems on my iPhone, which plays both audio and video fine, and other video (e.g., YouTube) and music (Music player) work fine. It's only the iTunes music store that's giving me problems.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.

I appreciate what you are both saying -- but it is not the music that is the problem. The video itself is NOT blocked - you can view it on a computer -- but when you try to view it on ipad/iphone the message says, "not available on this platform". Rental movies won't play on iPad

Every time I rent a movie from iTunes, it won't play on my iPad. Anyone have any ideas? There's nothing in the rental movie FAQ.

Mp4 from After Effects won't play on iPad Air

I have a series of mp4 vids - some are exported from Premiere, others, After Effects - CS6 Win7 x64.
They all play in iTunes, but the vids from AE won't play on the iPad. Even when I sync them the iPad identifies them as unplayable.
Any ideas what could cause this?

There's a million different things that could be wrong with your MP4 settings. You'll need to post all the compression parameters for anyone to assess the problem properly.
The easiest solution, and one which will give you better quality video anyway, is to use Adobe Media Encoder to do your compressions, rather than After Effects. It has iPad presets built right in, too.

the ones that are greyed out did not get downloaded all of the way. You need to delete or unsync them and redownload or resync them.

ITunes Movie won't Play on iPad

I have the iPad Wi-Fi + 3G 64GB
When Star Trek came out on DVD, I bought the Blu-ray 3-Disc copy that had a free Digital Copy download from iTunes.
This copy would play on my Apple TV, but not my iPhone... Now I have loaded it to my new iPad, and it won't play on it. It tells me it can't be played on this device.
Can anyone help me out here?

That's correct for me - It syncs just fine. I can even open the main movie menu on the ipad, see all the movie info, chapters, and everything. Just when I go to play it I get the error "This movie could not be played". I had a similar problem with Wall-E (bought directly from itunes store - not blu ray digital copy). But for whatever reason, that issue resolved itself. Princess and the Frog is locked down, though. I've tried resyncing, syncing manually versus automatically, etc. No Luck. This movie plays fine though itunes on my TV.
Any thoughts?

when u do a restore it deletes off everything on the device, including software. then it reinstalls the software from a new download package. this will ensure ur device isnt getting the same glitch in its system that ur current software has if that is the issue. when u restore from the backup u made AFTER uve done the 'restore ipad' that will put all of ur stuff back onto the ipad. i would suggest deleting off the youtube app b4 doing the back up and then readding it after the restore and restore from back up phases. if all of that doesnt work, youtube is the one with the problem and u should contact them.

Video clip previews won't play.

Videos won't play in Adobe Premiere Elements 10, but play fine in other programs on my computer. I've tried rendering it, installing a new hard drive for scratch disk, and saving the file in different locations. Once when I applied video merge to a clip, it played. I am editing videos blindly and can't take advantage of most of the features of the program. It's really frustrating. Any ideas?

What is the video card/graphics card that your computer with Premiere Elements 10 uses?
If it is NVIDIA GeForce, then you have the well known and documented Premiere Elements 10/NVIDIA GeForce issue which is remedied by rolling back
the driver version to about May 2013. Please review the following
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE10: NVIDIA Video Card Driver Roll Back
as well as the Announcement on this matter at the top of this forum.
Basically you will need to plug your information into the following NVIDIA fields to determine if there is a driver version for your card that is old enough to be used.
NVIDIA Driver Downloads - Advanced Search
If you are a Windows 8 or 8.1 64 bit user, you will probably find that old enough drivers do not exist for you. Then non NVIDIA GeForce card or Premiere Elements 11, 12, or 13.
Please review and consider if any of the above applies to you. If not, then we will explore alternative troubleshooting.

Adobe TV videos won't play on iPad

Hi all,
I'm posting this here as well as having updated another post on the Adobe TV forum - it looks like there's more activity here.
There are reports (mine among them) that the Adobe TV site doesn't work on some iOS devices. I have an iPad 2, and videos such as that on http://tv.adobe.com/watch/creative-cloud-for-web/adobe-dreamweaver-cc-overview/ don't render at all. No controls appear, no content in the iframe, just a blank black box. I actually haven't found any lately that do play.
Tried with both the Safari and Chrome browsers on my iPad (which is up-to-date with all apps).
Strangely enough, my iPhone 5 does display those videos I've checked.
I've submitted this through the feedback link on the Adobe TV site. This is actually the first time I've run across a problem on iOS that wasn't reproduceable across different devices.
Any ideas for a workaround or how I can provide more information to assist fixing this problem would be appreciated. Adobe TV really is excellent (or as Kelby would put it, "it rocks") on the iPad, so I hope this can be fixed soon.

kmpeterson, Thanks for highlighting it. I tried the same on my end and was not able to run any video from tv.Adobe.com using both Safari and Chrome.

Song Previews Won't Play

When I try to play any song preview in the iTunes Store it plays for only 5 to 15 seconds and stops. This even though I can tell from the player that the previews should be 1:30 long. Anyone else have this problem? How do I fix it?

One thing you can try is to enable the option to load the complete 30 second track preview before playback begins. To enable this option, open iTunes, and choose Preferences from Edit menu (Windows). Click the Store icon, make sure there's a check by "Load complete preview before playing," and then click OK.

Videos won't play on iPad 1st gen.

none of the tv shows I purchased from iTunes will play on my daughters 1st gen iPad anymore. Never had a problem until today. When app is opened, the screen is black but glowing slightly with the circulating "loading" icon in the center. Loads for a mere 3 seconds then goes completely black. I have done a reset (pressing home and power buttons simultaneously) twice and problem is not resolved. please help. Operating on OS 5.1.1 (highest OS on 1st generation).

Yes I did find a solution.
With the iPad connected to my computer, in iTunes, I synched the iPad.
Then told iTunes to do a Restore on the iPad.
It went through the process and the problem was fixed.
The iPad was restored from my last back up.
Problem solved.

Audio won't play on iPad without a visible button?

I'm having some similar issues as others asking audio questions. I have a fixed layout EPUB that has a few sound effects files. I wanted these to be hidden for surprise discovery by kids. I made empty boxes overlying the images on the page into buttons that play the sound if touched. (Example touch an animal and hear a sound). That works perfect in Ibooks in the Mac, but on iPad, I can only get the sound to play if there is a visible button to push.
Is having an invisible button for audio not possible iPad?
What if I turned the image itself into a button?
I also have a sound effect that is triggered by an animation and plays on page load. This does seem to work correctly.
Any help is appreciated!

You may be out of luck on Mac because an audio tag is used to play the media files and this media format may not be implemented yet on Mac.
You could try to copy the link and open the file in an external media player.
You can open the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer).
Paste the JavaScript code in the command line and press the Enter key to run the code.
That should show the URL of the media file

If there are multiple players then use this code and adjust the number [#]
<pre><nowiki>document.querySelectorAll("audio")[0].src</nowiki></pre>

Upgraded to Premiere Elements 11 from 9 - now video uploaded to Youtube won't play on iPad or iPhone

I just upgraded yesterday from Elements 9 to 11 (for Mac) -- and uploaded a "highlight video" from my daughter's Lacrosse match (just as I have done for the past several weeks) to Youtube.. When I try to view it on my iPad, it shows that the video cannot be played on the device. I had no problems uploading from Elements 9 -- and 11 touts that the uploading process is "even easier"..
Any suggestions?? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Movie created in iMovie won't play in IPad

I have a 45 minute video made on iMovie that plays on my iMac, MacBook and iPhone (haven't tried iTouch), but iTunes will not let me sync it to iPad because "it will not play". At first it was a .mov file, then I changed it to .mp4 and .mv4 (just by changing extension). I have it in my iMovie Media Browser but can't seem to get to that through iTunes. Any ideas?

After reading several other threads I want to clarify that I do not have the iMovie app on my iPad. I created the movie using iMovie on my MacBook and simply want to be able to watch the finished product on my iPad. The finished product has already been successfully viewed on an iMac, MacBook, iPhone and a 2-year-old iPod nano and has been converted to DVD using iDVD and played on TV screens.

Videos on homepage won't play on IPad 1

Videos on my MSN homepage will not play on my IPad 1. I have no problems with YouTube or tv apps. I've tried a reset, but that didn't fix the problems. Help!?

The videos had played on this IPad until about two weeks ago. I was wondering why they suddenly stopped working when I have not updated software. Do you know if Msn or Bing have changed anything within that time frame, or if something other than a reset would help?
