ITMS URLs don't open anymore in iTunes 6...

After upgrading iTunes to v.6, all iTunes Music Store URLs don't work anymore. For example, I open www.apple.com, and there is iTMS link at the bottom of the page. I click on it and ... Apple.com is reloaded, that's all. If I click on the same link second time, Safari changes Apple.com to my default home page. And that's all...
I deleted both Safari and iTunes *.plist files, but still the same - Safari (2.0.1, build 412.5) doesn't or cannot open iTMS links in iTunes...

DOH!!!
Figured out the issue... I just went and monkeyed around with the preferences and found that somehow it got set to shuffle albums as opposed to songs.
I set it back to songs and it is now following the behavior I anticipated...
I am curious how the preference got adjusted...

Keynote works in Mavericks and also runs with Keynote 6.1 installed.
this routine usually sorts most problems with Keynote 5, complete all the steps in the correct order:
1 - Remove keynote, (use Appcleaner from Mac Update to do this, it is freeware)
2 - shut down the Mac
3 - Start up in safe mode by pressing the shift key immediately after the start chime and until the Apple symbol appears)   it will take longer to start up as the OS is being repaired
3 - When the Mac is fully booted, go to:   Applications > Utilities > Disk utility
       click the System hard drive in the list then first aid tab > Repair Disc
4 - Reboot normally
5 - re-install iWork and install updates for Keynote from: Apple Menu > Software update

My devices don't appear anymore on iTunes when I connect them

I have version 11.1.3.8 of iTunes.
Since I installed it, when I connect the devices to iTunes (iPod, iPad, iPhones), they are not visible anymore in iTunes.
I can see they are connected to the computer (I can access them) but why don't they appear in iTunes.
Finally, if I try to go to Files / devices / synchronise, "synchronise" is not accessible.

- Are you sure you updated the iPod? If you go to Settings>General>About>Version what is listed?
- If you have a 2G with iOS 5 then you would have had to jailbreak the iPOd and that can cause problems

TS1702 Keynote and pages don't open anymore

My Keynote wont open after I installed Keynote 1.7.1 after updating my OS. same for facebook and pages.

It seems to be better with the first solution. I will come back if it doesn't work. Thanks!

Word, Excel, ... don't open anymore. Who can help me?

Since this morning none of my Microsoft programms open.
The error message is the following:
Excel: (in German) "Das Programm konnte nicht gestartet werden, weil ein Fehler in einer Gemeinschaftsbibliothek aufgetreten ist: "*<Microsoft Excel><CarbonLib><CFMPriv_QD>" "
It try to translate: "The programme couldn't be startet because an error in the collective library appeared:"*<Microsoft Excel><CarbonLib><CFMPriv_QD>" "
Almost the same message appeared by trying to opening word. The only difference: the error startet with ")<Microsoft word>
and at powerpoint with "/<Microsoft Powerpoint
The only thing I remeber is that a closed all programmes yesterday night, started the download of the new updates, which pop-up time after time. Everything worked fine, except the security update. There appeared an "unknown error" and my mac put the unfinished update in the paperbasket and i should try a new software update to renew the security update. but there wasn't a new software update found. so I decided to go to bed and have a look this morning.
now this morning the described problem came up.
what does that mean and how can I fix it?
note: I wish I where but I am not very experience with computers outside the normal use, so please try to explain in a way for "dummies"

Repair disk from your Tiger DVD.
Repairing permissions from the Tiger or Leopard DVD
Boot up from your Tiger DVD while holding down the "c" key.
Select the language you wish to use, and then choose +"Disk Utility"+ from the menu bar.
Your HD should appear in a panel on the left hand side of the window which opens. Select it and then click on the +"repair disk"+ button in the right hand section of the window.
If Disk First aid is able to complete the repair now click on the +"Repair permissions"+ button.
Once this process has been completed *restart your computer.*

PPC appz don't open anymore?

Hi
Ever since I upgraded to 10.4.10 on my MacBook Intel some of the applications (namely PPC appz) open with script editor and say that they have elements that are not scriptable.
Is this something to do with Rosetta or has 10.4.10 stopped supporting PPC appz on Intel machines?
Anyway to fix it?

Reinstallation of the combo update didn't fix the problem unfortunately.

Safari don´t open anymore...

Hi there people!
As i've saw here, Safari has got problems in MAC OS 10.5.5, it's the turn for my Safari freak out!
When I open Safari, it doesn't open a window and the spinning ball appears! To close Safari, I must "force quit"...
Now, anyone can help me with that?

If you uninstalled Safari 4 with the uninstaller that came with it, as well as Safari 3.1.2, you need to reinstall Safari from scratch. To do that:
1. Repair Permissions.
2. Insert your Mac OS X install disc, navigate to the Optional Installs folder and open the Optional Installs.mpkg file.
3. Check the box to install Safari and run the installer.
4. Download and re-apply the 10.5.5 Combo Update; this will get you back to Safari 3.1.2.
5. Repair Permissions again.

After upgrade to 10.9.3 - Finder don't open

Hi All,
After I upgrade OSX to 10.9.3 my finder don't open anymore or sometimes the finder screen open and close in a loop.
I tried to clean all system cache, but anything happens :-(
I cannot restore any backup because the problem didn't permit me to enter in timemachine.
Someone see something like this or have any advise ??

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to collect information about the state of the computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the request of a stranger. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
4. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
5. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
6. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "syntax error," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with "Model Identifier." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

My Adobe BridgeCS6 don't open anymore. whats going on?

For weird things try resetting preferences. Hold down Ctrl (option mac) and start Bridge. Should get a reset window with 3 options.

Documents in Word for Mac 97-2004 don't open in Word for Mac 2011

I have some Word documents that have been created in Word 97-2004. I didn't have any trouble with opening them on my Mac until I updated Word for Mac to 2011. Now they don't open anymore and I get a message that the document type is blocked by Word for Mac
2011. How can I open these documents again?

Firefox lingers and don't open some sites

When I open Firefox he constantly tries to read the file "opstatic.dealplay.com" and tries constantly to connect with the file "firefox.dealplay.com". Some sites don't open anymore. What happening? can you help me?

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

You can then search online for suspicious '''Image Name''' and try uninstalling the external Windows program behind the suspicious name via Start menu or Windows '''Control Panel''' > '''Programs and Features''', or at least make settings changes in the external Windows program. If you have games etc. that opens a page in your default browser, you can try to set another browser you are not using as the default.

I try to open my app to download some game and don't open so is itunes.This is happen on my ipad 2.Please help me.

Try closing all apps via the taskbar and see if they work when you re-open them : from the home screen (i.e. not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

You need to transfer the music from your iPod on to your iTunes library on your PC, since that is where you are currently syncing and where you are signed into iTunes Match. It doesn't matter that you were previously syncing it with a Mac, and you won't need to reinstall iTunes on your PC. But you will have to use 3rd party software such as Touch Copy to transfer any music not purchased from the iTunes store from your iPod to your iTunes library. Here's another guide on this, which is shoter and you may find easier to follow: Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive. Also, if you're using iTunes 11, go to View>Show Sidebar. This will make it easier to follow along with these guides.

BUG : url with an anchor don't open the in-app browser

When you make to button to open a local url, it doesn't work if the url has an anchor tag.
Exemple :
HTMLResources/test.html -> open the file test.html with the in-app browser
HTMLResources/test.html#test -> don't open the in-app browser
It is a valid url, it should open it.

That's a good idea (leaving it plugged in all the time) aside from the fact that I'm cheap as heck. Being poor has something to do with it since I'm a grad student. When I'm not using my printer, can opener, toaster, etc. I unplug them or turn them off. Because of this, during the summer I'm able to have electric bills under 20 dollars a month for my apt. I used to even turn of my router every night when I wasn't using it but got fed up with resetting it every time. I also don't use air conditioning and live in KY (my asthmatic lungs react better to heat with humidity than dryness, and to save $). I know - I'm completely different than the norm, but I get by with my quirks. How much do you think it would cost me extra a year to leave my computer plugged in and "sleeping" every night?
If I go into itunes with the preferences, could I make it so itunes never looks for updates? Thanks again.
