ITouch 3.0 Help!

Will there be a new iPod Touch or just new software??

Today's launch is just software. There have been "reliable" rumors that an upgraded Touch is coming sometime in the Fall. As with all rumors, it's not official until Apple says so. That being said, Apple appears to be on one-year update schedule now and it is quite likely that they will announce new Touches and iPods in time for Christmas.

OK, as always I waited before downloading a new OS and I'm sure glad I did. On the APP store I sorted comments by most critical...and WHOA...what is Apple doing? No support for Logic 9, MS Office? Is Apple only trying to reach the iphone/iTouch crowd? HELP! I was going to buy a new Mac pro & two 27" monitors but until I see some real problem addressing by Apple...I'll keep what I have and see how everything pans out. If anyone has any comments to ally my fears, I welcome them. I've been a devoted Mac user since 1993. 7500; G4; G5; and my latest Mac Pro...Where do I go? Again...HELP!

    Hi there,
If you look through ALL the reviews, they are mainly good. I feel that Lion is an excellent upgrade, although not essential.
There have been some issues with MS Office, but right now, it is up to Microsoft to issue a Lion compatible update, which will come in time. Saying this, MS Office has been working fine on my mac, it seems to be an isolated issue.
Logic 9 seems like a strange issue. Again, an update looks to be coming soon, with Lion support.
I do not feel that apple only focusing on the iPhone and iPad user base. There are many features carried along, but the machine can still be used for pro tools and use just as well. It still is a fantastic, reliable, fast, easy to use OS, which I have had very few problems with. Some additions you may not use, but they don't get in the way. You will love the new Exposé, Mission Control, as it is great for pro users who have many windows open at once, and the new spaces. You may however, never use Launchpad, but you don't have to, just drag it away from the dock!
I really reccomend buying a mac with Lion, although if you are worried about bugs, wait a few months for the issues to be ironed out, and updates to be given. Because the update is so very cheap, I really think you can hardly go wrong. Try it out with your current mac, and if you like it, go ahead and buy your new ones.
Lion is fantastic, albeit maybe rushed.
    Any other queries, just ask,
    Nathan

My itouch won't turn on. All that shows is the apple icon and then the screen goes blue to white. Is there a way to fix this or is my itouch unfixable? HELP ME!!!

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Here are some suggestions, copied from Update and restore error messages on iPhone and iPod touch
    Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
    When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.
    Error 1600, 1601, 1602
Follow the steps listed above for Error 1604. This error may also be resolved by disabling, deactivating, or uninstalling third-party security, antivirus, and firewall software. See steps in this article for details on troubleshooting security software.

  • Power / Wall adapter may have screwed my Itouch 64gb..HELP!!

    Hello all!
I just bought an iTouch 64gb..and last night I thought I´d charge it using a power adapter, plugging it to the wall...after 5 seconds I noticed it wasn´t charging, so I unplugged it, but then the sad news : it died..It just didnt turn on..then I thought : usb cable and PC...nope...it just didn´t wake up...I tried to reboot it holding the home and the top button...it didn´t work...CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME!?!?! I´M DESPERATE

This is easily remedied, if you have a little extra time.
First, make sure your Touch is fully charged; you can do this with an Apple compliant or branded charger, or until it recharges after a sync. (Leaving the adapter in overnight can actually leech charge from your Touch, so beware.) Next, just to make sure, press the power and circular button on your Touch until it resets.
If it doesn't reset, then I suggest you visit your local Apple Store (if you're near one). Explain the situation to the guys at the Genius Bar, and if your unit is defective, they'll likely replace it with a new one on the spot - or maybe by mail if your model isn't in stock.

  • Where is the "recently purchased" option gone on iTouch? Please help me...

I recently updated my iTouch iPod & can't locate the option "recently purchased'. Option was great since you don't need to go through Artist after Artist. Can you please help me? Many thankssssssss

If it is hidden from the other profile, it is not in the correct Applications folder. Your Mail should be in your Hard drive -> Applications folder, not your Hard drive -> Users -> yourname -> Applications folder.
If it is in the correct  applications folder, it probably was marked as a Parental Control application that is not visible in Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Accounts for the user in question that has it missing.

Perhaps you should try deleting your iPod's Photo Cache. Sometimes a bit random, but it has been known to work for a # number of users.  About the only suggestion I have though.  See this article for information on where to find your iPod's Photo Cache.

  • Apps not working on new itouch...help!!

hey everyone. yesterday, my parents bought me a new 2nd gen. itouch. everything was perfect for that day, but when i tried to use it this morning, the apps weren't working. let me explain. all the 'apps' that the itouch comes with, ex. photos, calender etc. worked fine, but when i tried to open up an app i had installed, say facebook, it would go to a blank screen for 5 seconds then go back to the screen with all the apps on it. if i try to open ANY app like that, it does the same thing. i have tried EVERYTHING......please help!!!!!!!

I have the 2nd Gen iPod Touch 8GB.
Just updated to iOS 4, and the apps won't even sync.
When restoring, iTunes says, "An error occurred while restoring this iPod (-402636802)."
Then when attempting to install apps, it says, "The application "APP NAME" was not installed on the iPod because an unknown error occurred (0xE003FFE)."

  • TS3694 No sound and ringer button not working. I cannot play music but when I put my Iphone 4 on the dock it plays music. This happens when I updated my phone to IOS 6.1.3..The phone doesnt have any carriers we only used this just like Itouch. Please help

Please help. Since I updated my Iphone4 to ISO 6.1.3...The ringer button not working, can't play any music (but ok with the dock), headphone sound is muffled. What can I do? I tried restoring and downgrading but it won't let me.

    Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out to the community.
Please help. Since I updated my Iphone4 to ISO 6.1.3...The ringer button not working, can't play any music (but ok with the dock), headphone sound is muffled. What can I do? I tried restoring and downgrading but it won't let me.
It appears like you may have a hardware issue with your ringer button and internal speaker that came to light after the update. If you have already restored your iPhone back to factory settings using iTunes, you may need to have your phone serviced.
Some potential good news... Check your headphone jack for lint. There may be enough to cause a muffled connection. You can try to blow it out with compressed air or very carefully pulling out any solid objects that may affect the connection.
    Best of luck!

  • ITouch 2G bluetooth help

I have an iPod Touch 2nd Generation with firmware 3.0. I have tried to use my bluetooth headphones (Philips SHB6100), without success. I have paired the two devices together but I can't find an option to enable the use of them. There is no icon next to the volume bar or anything. It maybe to do with the model of the headphones. I really need help on this one please.

When you enter the pairing code (0000) and it is accepted, tap the blue "connect" button at the top right of the page. You should see a solid blue or white bluetooth symbol just left of your battery symbol. That's all there is to do.
If you see a "not connected" next to the headphone name on the iPhone's, bluetooth page, you may have to tap the blue arrow at the right, tap "forget this device" and attempt to pair and connect again.
When using the iPod with the headphones, the volume slider at the bottom of the now playing page is replaced by the name of the headphones with a bluetooth symbol at the right. CVolum,e is controlled using the headphone's volume controls.

  • Why can't recovery the itouch? Please help!

When i try to recovery my itouch, suddenly the itouch swith off itself. Than i try to recovery again but can't successful and show : " This device isn't eligible for the requested build"

This device is not eligible for the requested build: Also sometimes displayed as an "error 3194." If you receive this alert, update to the latest version of iTunes. Third-party security software or router security settings can also cause this issue. To resolve this, follow Troubleshooting security software issues.
Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to performunauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. First you must uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer, then edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from the hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect.  For steps to edit the Hosts file and allow iTunes to communicate with the update server, see iTunes: Troubleshooting iTunes Store on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you do not uninstall the unauthorized modification software prior to editing the hosts file, that software may automatically modify the hosts file again on restart. Also, using an older or modified .ipsw file can cause this issue. Try moving the current .ipsw file, or try restoring in a new user to ensure that iTunes downloads a new .ipsw.

  • ITouch Screen Flickers - HELP!

I have an iPod Touch second generation that was working perfectly fine until about two months ago. Suddenly, and out of nowhere, it began to flicker white lines horizontally across the screen. At first it was simply annoying, but soon it got to the point where I couldn't use my iPod while it was doing this. I learned that if I turned it off for an hour or so it would stop, but a couple of hours later it would start again. Then the screen began to white out completely and it stays like this for hours. I have to leave it off for at least 24 hours for it to fix itself and even then it will white out again a couple of hours using it. This has become more than a simple annoyance. I still have the warranty on my iPod until September so if I have to take it in to get it fixed/replaced I will, but I thought I would try to find an answer online first. Please Help!

Take it or send it to Apple for service. You are still under warranty, so do get it fixed.

  • MC iTouch model vs MD iTouch model? Help.

I have 2 4th gen iTouches, both 8gb. One is black and one is white, and I have a question about the model numbers. They are both different, and I'll show you what I mean below.
    Black
    Model: MC540LL/A
    White
    Model: MD057LL/A
So, since the white iPod touch has a higher model number, will it run faster? Does it have any newer hardware on the inside?

No. They're the exact same model with different case colors; the large model number difference is due to different original release dates.
