ITouch 4 iSO problems.

I would like to start by saying I could not think of a better board to post this question on nor could I think of a better title..
For Christmas I received a new iTouch 4 and it was great, It continued being great until around the 7th of January (Give o take a few days) when for no reason what so ever it shut down and would not power up or charge; the only way I could get my new iTouch to power on was to boot it in recovery mode which i assumed had solved the problem but alas, the problem resurfaced once again a few days later so I returned the iTouch and had it replaced...
Once i received my new iTouch I thought ok great A brand new iTouch all my problems are solved but now (roughly 1 1/2 month after receiving the new...new iTouch) The same problem has occurred. I rebooted my iTouch and used the recovery feature on iTunes to get my iTouch to work again but to be honest I can not see this being a normal function of the iTouch and for me 150-200 pounds is a lot of money to spend on what seems to be a technical fault...
What I would love to know is if anyone can tell me why my iTouch is having these spazz-attacks or how to stop them?
P.S I am also having a problem with my sound, application sound is not being effected by my side volume buttons (and yes I have it set to be Volume control and not ringtone volume control but I have tried both settings). So in the end do I just have a cursed iTouch or what...I do not want to have to send back ANOTHER iTouch but I will if this is not normal..(**** if I have to send it back again they should send me a 32 Gb to say sorry lol [That was a joke])

thanks for the responses...i have ensured that my pc is not in sleep mode when the itouch is plugged in. In fact, i notice that the time changes the second i connect it to the pc. This does not occur on my other pc with XP, os it appears to be an issue solely with Vista...

ITouch EQ Problem - Anyone experienced the same?

I received my iTouch last Tuesday and this is my first ipod. Put around a 100 cds on it and then set the EQ to Bass Boost. I like my bass high!
On bass heavy tracks and some drum heavy tracks I experienced very distorted sound (like an underwater "rumble"). Turn the EQ to R&B, Dance and Pop and the same thing. Turn the EQ off and everything is ok! Unfortunately the sound is then too "thin" for my ears.
Took the unit back to the Apple store in London's Regent Street and the assistants agreed with me and swapped the unit over (minus the engraving)! Tried the second one and exactly the same sound problem. Returned to the store again and armed with the source CD's the guys in the shop opened another iTouch and burnt the CD's to a mac book and then transferred them to the new itouch - same problem. They then transferred the songs to a "normal" iPod and the sound was perfect.
Anyone else experienced this and does anyone know what may cause this problem - software / firmware?
I received a full refund but this is such an amazing piece of technology that I would like to get an iTouch without this problem

I read somewhere recently that the new ipods do have a different sound chip than the previous generation. From personal experience, i only use the bass boost on tracks with abnormaly low bass. Once again personal preference. If it was a manual eq say on your home stereo, and you set the bass all the way up, chances are you would hear distorted bass from your speakers as the track you were listening to already had alot of bass. Correct? If I'm listening to a country song and I have the eq setting with enhanced bass, it sounds fine. If I switch to rap, it distorts. I know from experience to change the eq based on what I'm listening to. This has been true for all of my ipods prior to the touch also. I don't really blame apple. That is why there is a variety of eq's provided. I wouldn't hold my breath for a software update as I think it is more user preference. Forget what name is assigned to the eq and give them all a listen. If none are good enough, you may need to choose another product. Hope this helps a little .

ISO problem for 808 pureview

For the last 22 months, I have been using 808 pureview & the thing I love the most is it's 41 mega pixel camera.
Everything was fine until my phone's WIfi module failed to work. I gave the phone for repair & now what I got back is a sodding piece of **bleep**. Now it's better to call the phone 808 **bleep**view.
Now whenever I take photos....a lot of light is being added to it. I think the problem is with ISO. ISO is not adjusting properly in automatic & scenes mode. Creative mode looks completly **bleep**ed up now.
Can you tell me what is the problem or how can I resolve this problem??

Sometimes repairments are not done correctly or harm other components. Did you consider to bring it back for repair? If you have run the Nokia Software Recovery Tool on a Windows computer, you did everything you can do (officially).

New itouch battery problem?

I just got my itouch replaced a little over a week ago and I noticed that in a matter of minutes, the battery level went down to 84% after fully charging it last night. Is this a problem? Shall I bring it to the apple store for replacement?

Itouch - itunes problem - please help !

I have the latest firmware on my 2nd gen itouch and its not jailbroken .
yet when i put on music , movies or anything , it goes like its loading the the songs or whatever but as soon as it freezes . It gets to the sync screen at the top of itunes but freezes and if i unhook it , no new songs or movies . but if i plug the itouch back into itunes , it syncs and all's well .does anyone else have this problem ? thanks alot !

How many things was it updating? If it was a lot then it might freeze for just a little and complete the update. If it is just a little bit of things, then you're iTunes may not be up to date or you might have to restore your iPod and see if that works.

Macbook pro retina windows 7 iso problem

Im on a macbook pro retina and have been trying to install windows 7 on it through bootcamp for the past 3 hours and no matter what image of Windows 7 I download from the internet it never fits bootcamp's requirements. I've gotten all the possible problems, from not being a 64 bits file to not even being windows 7 or later file. What on earth am I supposed to do?

Another iTouch Internet Problem

I can connect to the Internet somewhat, but my iTouch doesn't complete the connection to its close. The URL indicator opens to the website but halts about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way. The "circle thingy" goes around & around as though it's working, but the progress bar holds at a certain level (1/2 or 3/4) of the way. The website seeminly opens, however you can't move to another site by clicking-on to a link on the webpage. The other direct internet connect sites like weather or maps which require internet access also do not complete, the circle thingy just keeps going around & around forever without completing the connection. I've re-set, synced, and the problems continues. No problems with playing my music, but internet connections aren't working properly.

Have you tried resetting the network settings? Settings> General> Reset> Reset Network Settings.

Ipod itouch connection problems

WRT54GS v1; firmware 4.71.1
itouch connects wirelessly and is assigned ip address, subnet mask and dns servers as expected. router shows itouch in DHCP clients table.
when i attempt to access web i get 'cannot connect to server' error.
other wireless laptops and hardwired pc's connect and access inet fine.
itouch connects and accesses web flawlessly at local coffee shop
45 minutes on support line with apple yielded no answers - the best they can offer is that it is the router.
help!

FOUND THE PROBLEM!!!!
it seems the itouch cannot handle multiple DNS servers. it turns out my internet provider's (cablevision) first listed DNS server was down. the itouch does not look at alternates. once i discovered that by pinging it, i changed the order of DNS servers on my router putting one of the active DNS servers first.
after that, worked like a charm!!!

Itouch screen problems in Iphone

My iphone fall down, and my itouch screeen doesn´t work any more. I can receive phone calls but the screen doesn´t respond. I already tried to reset it, but it dind´t work. the itouch screen it`s locked. Could you please help me?. THe warranty covers this kinds of problems?. Thanks.

I would suggest sending it to a third-party repair (Google iPhone screen repair) source that fixes iPhones. That will not be covered by warranty even if the phone is unlocked.

Install iso problem

I hope someone can help me with a problem I've been having. The beginners installation wiki has a warning that reads:
"Warning: A bug has been noted in the install ISO, in which the name your interface has during installation differs from the one it will have upon reboot. See FS#33923 for more details.
Use the command ip link (shows interface names) after rebooting into your installed system to find out if you are affected by this. If so, you will have to redo the configuration described below with the correct interface name."
That is exactly what happens to me. eth0 is changed during reboot to enp0s3. But the suggested fix doesn't work. I've tried (plus many other things) systemctl enable [email protected]
with no luck.
I'm installing arch under virtual vbox under windows.

I'll have to read the recent changes to that page - I don't think there is a *bug*, there are just two different ways of handling interface names. This should be noted in the guide, but unless there is more too it, then calling it a bug that some people may be 'affect by' is needlessly scary.
This should happen to *everyone*, this is not a bug that you've been hit with.
Just the same though, you do want a solution. `systemctl enable [email protected]` should not work, as you don't have an eth0. You say you've tried many other things; what were these things?
What you should do:
1) use `systemctl enable dhcpcd.service` for an interface-agnostic service, or
2) Set your interface to be named eth0 following this
I like the second option, but this is purely personal preference.

ITouch battery problem!

Hello!
Is anyone having issues with their 1G iTouch's battery life?? Mine is about ~6months old and it seems to be sucking the battery juice even when I'm NOT using it.
I shut OFF the Wifi and the My Location feature. It goes on stanby within a few minutes (it's still on the default time when I purchased it)! The iTouch is shut OFF when NOT in use!
The only things that'll drain the battery are:
1. Anything that uses Wifi!
2. App Games/applications - I use sparingly now though Mahjong is still addictive!
3. Movies - rarely watch the movies now, better to watch on LCD monitor or TV!
4. Music - obviously I use this feature but less now since I use my nano!
That's it!
Weather in New England has started to get cold and I know the temperature affects battery life. This can't be the (main) culprit!
I check up and charge up the iTouch ~3 days without using it! What gives?!
Any suggestions for improved battery life?!

With your first point....
I thought that it wasn't possible to diminish battery life by charging your iPod battery too much and that it makes no difference how full your battery is when you use it, just so long as you don't let it diminish completely.
My old mp3 player did have diminished battery life from overcharging but I think the iPod Touch and other recent ipod versions don't have that problem.

My iPod does strangely run out of battery if I leave it plugged into my computer overnight, but it doesn't affect the battery life.
I have no idea why your battery is running out so quickly but like daching said, exposure to magnets can affect battery life of any electronic device like computers and iPods and this might be the problem

ITouch pausing problem

As of recently my iTouch pauses randomly in between songs. Doesn't skip to next song, just pauses for a second then continues with song.

Try this different procedures;
Turn your iPod completely off (press and hold the sleep button). Then try listening to a song.
If it doesn't help, try restoring your iPod and then re-sync all your content to it.

Itouch remote problem

I have a Itouch that i have downloaded the apple remote on to it to control my itunes library. When i open the remote app i can see all my playlist and artist on the screen put whben i select a playlist or any artist it doesn't show any songs. I have a iPad that works fine with the remote amp. If i select any songs on the ipad or on the itunes it will show feedback on the Itouch and i can do next, prev song and select apple TV or airport express setup. I have seen this happen on a couple different Itouch recently on different networks and both using MAC and windows 7 computers just wondering if there is a way to fix this problem.

ITouch Login Problem, Forgot Password

My itouch has been humming away fine and last night it forgot the password to my ActionTec Router. I have tried inputting it many times, with no luck including the Network Reset. I am assuming as its been a while that the password is the WEP ID. Are there any other options for a password ? Tried all my normal ones. Never been able to get my iPad to sync with the Wifi (Wrong Password or it forgets it)

The name of the password file isn't random.
The SID is case sensitive, and the password file in Unix has no extension!
So if the filename is wrong, the passwordfile will not be used.
This filename looks wrong, at least the .ora bit should be removed.

ISO PROBLEM CREATING MESSAGE SAVED APP

New update Iso7 created a app called (messages saved ) It is consuming space on all my devices. Go into general-usage-see all apps and usage. I have app now called message saved. I can't delete it. I do not keep many messages. I always delete them. How does this happen. It consumes 800 MB. I really need to clean it off. Looks like update is needed

So have been playing with this problem saved messages in usage.
I restored all settings and content on my iPhone 5 so I have a out of box iPhone with iCloud singed in. I go to messages usage 700kb. So I send a video message to my group of friends, the app usage went to 5.5mb. So I go back to Messages app, tapped and held the video > tap more> delete all, from the top left corner. Checked my usage its 1.3mb still up not sure how to clear all message data usage.
By swiping the message conversation does not delete any of the content, you have to go in to the conversation and delete all to get your space back. If you have already deleted the conversation I am not sure how you can delete message content without a restore of phone. I did see there is software to remove the message content not sure if it works. I did do a back up before I started to remove the 6gb of message usage. In iTunes preferences > devices> right click> show in finder> expand folder and i removed some of the data that was there from messages app. Backup wouldn't work once I removed some of the message documents.
To sum this up. Sharing Photos and video with friends use photo sharing rather that messages, plus your photo and video will be as clear as if they were taken with your phone. Don't forget don't delete conversation but delete content in the conversation.
