Itouch 4th gen white screen after replacement

after changing cracked screen on a itouch 4th gen white screen is displayed

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. However, they may refuse to even look at tit since you worked on the iPod yourself. It could be that you broke a ribbon cable of did some other damage when replacing the screen, the screen was defective or there was other damage besides the screen, like the logic board.

  • IPod 4th Gen has white screen after replacement, and restore

Okay. Here's the problem. A while ago, I dropped my iPod, and it's screen cracked. I've been living with it ever since perfectly, but just with a cracked screen. Now, I ordered a new screen, and I begin to replace it. I knew how, and like an easy job, I did it pretty quick compared to others. After both ribbon cables where in, I pressed the lock button, and my iPod had a white screen. I was a little worried about that, so, I tried to reattach the screen. Now it was just black, after even using the home and lock button restart method. Eventually I got it back up and to the white screen by draining the battery and recharging, and there I was again, stuck. I looked at some forums on the internet to try to see if anyone had my problem. After clicking on the first link, it turns out, alot of people had this problem as well as me. The solution they said was pressing the home button and lock button for about 10 or so seconds, and then it goes to the apple screen and is all better again. I tried it, and my home button broke. Great. So, now I had to use the little button that the home button was pressing down to try the solution. Tried it, and, nothing. Still the blank, plain, white screen. Looked some more and saw that pressing the home and lock buttons along with the volume up button worked for some people too. Tried it, worked just as good as the previous one. Nothing. I even tried some person's idea of doing home, then volume up, then lock, in different timed stages. Nothing. I also saw people begging for them not to restore their iPods and begging for a solution. I was fine with a restore, I just had games that I played on my iPhone as well. So, I went with it, and restored it, without any backups, just going to factory mode. Afterwards I heard my iPod make the iOS "plugged in" sound, and anxiously tried the lock button. Still had the white screen. STILL. Now, I'm here, begging for a solution like others, with an iPod that won't function properly. Can someone please help me?

No nothing like that happened, I'm sure, but I actually spent the day looking for a fix. Luckily, I had the idea of taping the spring down because I though the screen didn't touch it. Turns out I was right, but however, I found out that the screen I ordered was broken in a way, because it still had the white screen after the taping. Just to make sure, I tried the other screen to clarify if the taping worked or not. I did the home and lock button restart, and up popped the apple logo. So, that means that the screen I got from the seller was either a rip-off, or was just broken somehow in process of making, or delivering in some matter. Unfortunately, I think I can't ship it back unless for alot of money because the person I got it from comes from China. I live in the USA. So that's gonna be a matter to work with myself. Thank you for trying to help.

  • White screen after replacing LCD display myself. Help needed!

I tried replacing the cracked LCD display, the fuctions on the iPod is still working but after replacing the LCD display it turns out to be white. I search the internet for solution but can't find any instead the possible problem. I found forums stating it could be the 'GPU chip' is fried on the logic board. I tried the cracked LCD on another iPod Touch 2nd Gen and found out that you could still see the outline of the lockscreen and time but when I tried on the original iPod Touch 2nd Gen it's just white, the same goes for the new LCD display. It's there any possible way to replace just that part without resetting the iPod Touch to its factory settings and how much would it cost?

  • Why I'm still getting a white screen after Replacing the screen on my iPhone

i just replaced the screen on my iPhone 4 but after I finished , im getting a white screen all the time

Did you replace the screen yourself? If so, then opening the device voids any post-warranty support from Apple, and from the forum. You will need to Google for help, since according to Apple, the iPhone does not have any user serviceable parts.

Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs and then restore va iTunes:
    For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
    If necessary:
    Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
    and
    RecBoot tip
RecBoot may have problems on 64X windows, then try:
Tenorshare ReiBoot – Enter & Exit iPhone, iPad, iPod Recovery Mode with a Single Click
    For MAC or PC
    The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
    Installs blootware on PC too

  • IPAD 3 white screen after replacing digitizer

Had a cracked screen on my ipad but LCD was working perfectly. Bought a new digitizer and replaced broken digitizer.  Did not remove lcd.  Now when I turn on the screen is white.  I tried plugging in old broken screen but it is white also.
I made sure both digitizes were correctly plugged in.
I tired holding down power and home to reset. It resets but no apple logo.  Just white.
Did I damage the LCD while repairing?  Should I try another screen first?

Since iOS devices are not considered user serviceable it's a bit of a crap shoot doing anything like this eithe by yourself or some shop.
Have you looked through any of the guides at www.ifixit.com?  Is it possibly just a bad connector?
What about the digitizer itself?  Since there is no Apple authorized repair services, centers nor technicians for iOS devices, there are no legitimate or authorized suppliers of new replacement parts.  All parts available for purchase are used or recycled by 3rd party companies or gray/black market stuff, so are you sure the digitizer itself is good?

  • White screen after friend replaced screen. Any help?

One of my friends replaced their broken screen on their iTouch 4th gen and it didnt work. It was handed over to me and when I opened the case the LCD cable was disconnected so I put it back in place and now it has a white screen. I Already tried a hard reset, with and without the volume button. I also let it die and charged it and still there. On a side note when it needed to be plugged in while holing the lock button the connect charger screen showed up fine, once released it got fuzzy white then faded to white completly. It also i discovered this moring, it has an alarm that goes off just fine. Any help would be MUCH appreciated. Mainly beacuse its not mine.

  • My Itouch 4th Gen. screen has cracked. Will having warranty make a difference for the repair price?

The bottom half of my itouch 4th Gen. has cracked. Everything is still working fine, it's just the screen that is damaged. I have a warranty for my itouch and i was wondering if the repair price would be any different. Also where do i take it for repair? Do i just drop by my local apple store, and give it to them to repair it? How long will it take for repair? or will they just replace it?

No. Warranty covers workmanship and material only. In order to cover damage you need insurance.

  • ITouch 4th gen. wont turn on at all, after already being used.

So i am 15 and i got my brand new 32g iTouch 4th gen for Christmas. Iv had past iPod's so i already knew how to add songs, and what not. My songs are already on the iPod and everything has been working great. I was just on the internet showing my mom this storage bin on kmart, after that i closed down the internet, and pressed the lock button at the top. I then wanted to show her this picture on my lock screen, so i went to turn it on/unlock it, and nothing worked! I tried pressing the lock button, and the home button. I also tried holding each. I also tried connecting it to my computer to see if it would work. It did not. Its stuck on a black screen. Please help!

Ok i fixed it!! I texted my best friend Ivan. (: You hold down both the lock and home button. As soon as the apple pops up, let go. (or else your data will be erased) then, i let it do its own thing for about 30 seconds and it turned on! yay!(:
