ITouch 4th gen. wont turn on at all, after already being used.

So i am 15 and i got my brand new 32g iTouch 4th gen for Christmas. Iv had past iPod's so i already knew how to add songs, and what not. My songs are already on the iPod and everything has been working great. I was just on the internet showing my mom this storage bin on kmart, after that i closed down the internet, and pressed the lock button at the top. I then wanted to show her this picture on my lock screen, so i went to turn it on/unlock it, and nothing worked! I tried pressing the lock button, and the home button. I also tried holding each. I also tried connecting it to my computer to see if it would work. It did not. Its stuck on a black screen. Please help!

Ok i fixed it!! I texted my best friend Ivan. (: You hold down both the lock and home button. As soon as the apple pops up, let go. (or else your data will be erased) then, i let it do its own thing for about 30 seconds and it turned on! yay!(:

just bought an itouch 4th gen and it wont turn off. i just updated it too. what should i do?

    Try:

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.

  • 4th gen wont turn on! please help.

I haven't had my ipod touch 4th gen on for about a week. I tried to turn it on and the charging screen showed up. After a few seconds it said it was turning on but then the screen went black and then the charging screen showed up again. I have tried different chargers and I tried to reset it by holding the home and power button. It doesn't show up on itunes when i have it plugged in. It has done this before and one day it just started working. Any suggestions?

okay i got this ipod nano off one of my friends. I plugged it into my own computer and the apple logo came onto the screen, then after a few seconds the main menu screen came on, but while doing this i accidently knocked the cord connecting my ipod to the computer, then my ipods screen went black and said "please eject before disonnecting " but as it slightly came out it was "disconnected" so i tried putting it back it but the ipod wouldnt turn on, only a blank black screen. I have tried all the steps from apple but none of them are working, please tell me whats wrong with the ipod and how i can fix it !!! i really need this ipod !!

  • Ipod Nano 4th Gen wont turn on.

My Ipod Nano 4th Generation will not turn on. I plug it into my computer and get nothing, i tried resetting it and that did nothing. I then plugged it back into my computer and i got an error message on Itunes saying that my Ipod was corrupt. I know can not get Itunes to recognize my Ipod, even for a 'corrupt' message. I have had my Ipod for over a year now and wondered if anyone els had had this problem and even better knew a way of fixing it. I cant afford a new Ipod and need one for work. If anyone could help me i would be very grateful. Thanks.

I have the same problem. I've had mine since Christmas and when I went to listen to it today the screen just shut down and it's unresponsive to anything. Even being plugged in to my computer. The only thing it does it make a clicking sound when I take it off hold.
I've also done the Five R's and none of them worked.

  • Itouch 4th gen wont start, apple shown on screen

Has anyone seen this?  is the itouch completely dead or is there something else we can try?
have tried resetting by holding power and front botton down for 10 seconds. itouch restarts but still shows the apple in the middle of the screen.
also tried usb cord to computer, but itunes does not see the itouch.  The itouch does charge so it sees the power from the usb cable.
when plugged in to charge, it beeps every few minutes as if it is already charged.
we've also let the battery completely run down, then charged again, but the apple still shows on the screen.

Ok i fixed it!! I texted my best friend Ivan. (: You hold down both the lock and home button. As soon as the apple pops up, let go. (or else your data will be erased) then, i let it do its own thing for about 30 seconds and it turned on! yay!(:

  • Ipod Touch 4th gen wont turn on, or install drivers properly...

I Have an Ipod I had recived from my cousin to try and fix. The Ipod does not turn on but the first time I plugged it in, the drivers installed correclty, but I could not restore it (error 1600) Then I tried DFU mode, that didnt work. So I then uninstalled the driver to try and re-install it, now it shows up as 'Apple Mobile Device (DFU Mode)' with a yellow exclamation mark and won't properly install the driver or show up in Itunes. Any ideas on getting the Ipod out of DFU and properly reinstalling the drivers? I've already tried re-installing Itunes for this. I have also tried every possible solution on this website for the 1600 error. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

How long did you hold the buttons? Keep holding them until the Apple logo comes on. May take up to 30-sec. As far as Apple changing you, if it's under a year old, them may do it for free.
