Itouch closes out of music after one song

Problem: When I listen to one song the music application closes out and stops the music.
I currently use a first generation Itouch and have had it for about 2 years. I have tried the soft restart (Holding down the off button and sliding it to power down), and I have also tried the hard restart (hold off button and home button then turn it back on). Both of these haven't fixed anything. I haven't tried restoring it yet since the problem occured during vacation and I hate restoring and re-syncing everything.
I'm curious to know if restoring may actually help a problem like this or if the Itouch may as well be dead.

I think the original poster did try reset, according to how the manual describes it (holding the power and menu button at the same time). I tried it too, and it didn't work. I'm probably gonna delete the iPod and restore it.
Is it best to "erase all content and settings", then restore. Or should I just follow the restore procedure alone, since the manual says that "restore" deletes as well?

Apple TV quits playing music after one song

'm a new Apple TV owner. The first couple days were fine. I've updated the software.
When I select music to play from my Mac, it will play a song or two and then quit.
I have my HDMI directly to the TV; and I have an optical audio directly to my BOSE home theater system.
The Apple TV box LED blinks when this happens. I can restart the songs, but it only lasts about a song before it drops again.

Is the music in a playlist, is it by any chance set to skip when shuffled in iTunes. Is your music checked in iTunes.

Apple TV stops after one song

Hi All,
I recently bought my Apple TV (3rd gen) and have the most recent update (5.2). I also have the most up to date iTunes (11.0.1). The thing is that when I want to enter the library on my laptop (windows 7) Apple TV freezes after one song. It loads the next song but then stops. I still can go back in the menu, but the connection with the library is lost.
I also have a desktop computer (windows 7) running with a different iTunes library, and when i stream music from that library everything works fine. So my guess is that there is something wrong in the laptop (ACER Travelmate). I tried loads of things but they all do not seem to work:
- switched off windows firewall
- switched off IP/V6
- reinstalled the bonjour software
- reinstalled the itunes software
- I use a TP-link router with up to date firmware
Any ideas what might cause this problem? Is there maybe any other software that could be blocking my connection?

I have the same problem. I think it is disgusting that nobody at Apple has responded to your post. I see no evidence that Apple cares about this bug, which renders Airplay (on Apple TV) useless.

Playlists stop after one song

I am having a problem where my playlists stop playing after one song in Itunes. This does not happen in my IPOD lists just Itunes.
I ran the setup and repaired - same problem
Reinstalled - same problem.
Deleted playlists and created new ones - same problem.
Highlighting several songs and playing - prob remains.
Any help would be appreciated. If it is a settings issue, not sure why it doesn't affect the IPOD songs played through Itunes. Only the Itunes playlists stop playing.
Appreciate any help.

Airplay cuts out after one song

I am having a problem with airplay cutting out after each song when using Itunes. I tunes continues to play but tracks but is not transmitting via airplay.
configuration is as follows:
Airport time capsule is connected via wireless to airport express, airport express is connected to wireless internet router via cat 6 RJ45, Apple TV connected via wireless to airport express.
It is not physically possible to connect all devices together with cable.
Time capsule is set to extend network via wireless connection to airport express and both are configured for 5GHz.
I can connect my MAC Book Pro mid 2012 to either the Time capsule or airport express.
Aiport express is connected to a Sound sytem and apple TV is also connected to separate Sound System.
When playing tracks through ITunes and selecting both or either airport express or apple TV airplay cuts out. If I connect directly to my old internet router it also cuts out, indicating there is a possible problem with the WI-FI connection but each device has a perfect connection due to their proximity. If I connect my MAC Book Pro directly to the airport express in the same room and within 4 ft of each other airplay cuts out after one track so that does not indicate a signal error.
This problem has only started recently and did not happen on my windows PC and if I play directly from my IPad or Iphone the music streams perfectly but I can only stream to one device at a time.
Current configs:
Airport express Version 7.6.4
Time Capsule version 7.7.1
Itunes version 11.1.3 (8)
MAC Book Pro OS 10.8.5 mid 2012
Apple TV (latest update)
Obvious things I have done:
Checked for updates
Rebooted every device several times
Tried moving every device closer together (made no difference)
Re-rooted all light aircraft and switched off every thing that could possibly that transmits device in the house

I have this same problem.
I am using an Alienware Aurora desktop PC running Windows 8.1. My music library is stored on Synology Diskstation 1513+ NAS. The PC, Playmaker and NAS are all wired into a Netgraer D6300 router.
I have no problem playing iTunes through my PC speakers or headphones but when I use Airplay to play either through my Apple TV OR my Bang and Olufsen Playmaker (through to B&O speakers) the music stops after one track even though iTunes is still playing the next track in the playlist. If I stop and restart, or if I choose another track it plays through to the end and the problem starts again. If I play wirelessly from my iPhone through the Playmaker and the B&O speakers I have no problem. So it seems to be fairly and squarely an Airplay issue?
This was intermittently happening but is now happening all the time. GRRRRRR!

Newbie can't figure out how to play one song only.

So I just got up and running with my new iPod 80GB Video. I ripped 3 CDS of tunes to mp3's with iTunes and loaded them into the iPod and it plays but I can't figure out how to just play a single song, it always continues to the next song alphabetically. I've looked in the online manuals and couldn't find where you set "single" instead of "play all". I'm in Songs menu, not Artists or Albums. Please help.

The iPod isn't designed to work like this, and I think the only workaround is to create a playlist with one song in it.

My playlist stops playing after one song.

My playlists have all the songs checked on my computer. Today my iPhone is playing only one song at a time on a playlist. When I try to click the "start" arrow to get the next tune playing, nothing happens. I have to log out of the playlist and then select it again. I've tried this with shuffle feature on and off - I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've looked at iTunes 11 on my Windows7 Pro computer and it is not giving me any clues. Hints are welcome and I'm an experienced computer user.

I don't believe you are doing anything wrong - I believe it's an Apple iTunes issue.
I'm having a similar problem with Itunes on my iMac. I'm playing iTunes on my iMac, to my Apple TV, and can't get iTunes to play more than one song at a time no matter what I try.
HOWEVER: When I play iTunes locally (Computer), even with external speakers - iTunes random/repeat works fine. So it seems to me to have something to do with mirroring/playing to an external device.

HT1595 returns to main screen after one song

My 2nd Generation Apple Tv returns to main screen after playing one song. How do I correct this?

Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

My iphone 4s is quiting the music after one minute.

No sound, but still playing says my car audio. When I'm plugging in the iphone again there is music. After one minute is gone again.

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore. Have these basic steps been attempted?

I pod freezes after one song.

I like to set my ipod to shuffle through songs and just let the playlist go.
BUT recently when I play my ipod through my speaker dock it plays one song and then freezes! The only way I can get it to play another song is if I switch it off and then on again, which is very annoying.....
Also it is supposed to charge whilst on the speaker dock but when it freezes the battery indicator is sometimes red. When this recently happened I started to scroll through some of my photos (to try to calm myself down)and then the battery indicator miraculously jumped back to a healthy green again!
I don't think it is the speaker dock which is the problem as it plays my partner's ipod no problem - lucky him!

I'm not convinced that it is a battery issue as I have never had battery problems with this i pod before (this ipod is actually a replacement for the 1st one I bought and that had some very serious battery problems).And I have been using this one for around 6 months now with no problems so far.
I have tried some of the 5 R's and I think the last resort would be to restore the i pod, however I'm very reluctant to do this as I understand all of my music will be erased during the restoration. It certainly was a pain in the backside having to copy all my music back in to the computer when apple replaced the first faulty i pod - and I don't have my music stored in i tunes (there was loads) and I deleted as I copied to save space.
The funny thing is that my i pod seems to work fine when I use it on it's own, have it connected to a computer or have it connected to a cassette adapter - I only seem to have trouble when it is connected to the speaker dock! But as I say the speaker dock plays my partner's ipod fine and dandy and had played mine all Summer without any hitches.....
Very strange and confusing.

TS2972 my homesharing turns off after one song from my itunes to my apple tv . Remedy?

Apple tv plays one song from my itunes then stops, says homesharing needs to be turned on. It's already on in itunes.

I'm bumping this up because I'm having the same problem... Does anyone know how to fix this?

I-Phone stopping playing music after one track

I have a i-phone 3G and when I use the i-pod function it will play music fine until the next track and then it will stop and go back to the main i-phone screen. Anyone got any ideas why this is the case?

Are there check marks beside all the songs in your itunes library? Unchecked songs have to be clicked on individually to play them, checked songs will play one after the other.

IPod touch stop playing music after two songs!!

I hope you can help me, because my problem is very frustrating. I am listening to my iPod touch, in my car through the car speakers, or through the earbuds. Once a song stops playing and the next song after it starts playing, the second song gets about 20-30 seconds into it, and then it stops. Completely stops, and I look at it and I am back at the home screen. This does not happen every-time, but I still don't know why it does this.
I also have another problem of the same type, but this has to do with the videos in YouTube. I watch a YouTube video almost all the way through, but then at the end, maybe 1 minute left or so, it stops, and goes back to the home screen.
Also, when I am on the internet, Safari, and I am listening to music while loading a page, the music stops quickly after the page starts to load and then everything gets put back to the home screen.
I know thats a lot to read, and maybe reply to, I'm sorry, but those are all my problems.

I have the exact same problem as originally reported. The song stops in the middle and then proceeds to the next song. One time I also saw the failure where I was returned to the main screen. More details follow.
My issue is 100% repeatable when it happens. As an example, I have a song I purchased on iTunes and downloaded last night. The song is 3:53 long and when I play it on my iPod Touch, while watching the "progress" bar, it consistently stops when the song reaches exactly 1 minute played. The progress bar continues silently for a few more seconds before then proceeding to the next song. This happens 100% consistently. However, if I manualy drag the progress indicator past the 1 minute mark while playing this song, the song will then play successfully until the end. I have the latest version, 1.1.2, on my iPod Touch.

My GF4 MX440 TV-OUT finally works after one and half a year!!!

I bought this MSI GF4 MX440 video card in the middle of 2002. It comes with TV-IN and TV-OUT. The TV-IN works well and I can record video by connecting it to the AV-OUT of my TV. However, the TV-OUT didn’t work: after connecting the TV-OUT port to the AV-IN of the TV, the driver detected the TV correctly, but after selected clone option from nView, the whole screen of TV becomes light gray and no picture is displayed at all. I tried more than 5 different drivers (including the original MSI driver) and Win9x, Win2000 and XP, nothing works.
Yesterday I installed TVTool, and strange things happened: when I run TVTool the first time, nothing was changed: the TV is still in light gray color. After I clicked on button “Scan” in “Adjust” tab in TVTool, the screen of computer is displayed in the TV! Even if I quit TVTool, the TV-OUT is still working. I went to the display properties and setup TV as the device for full screen display, then when I use Windows Media Player or Real Player to play a video using normal size, the movie is displayed full screen on TV automatically! It’s really amazing. After stopped playing the video, the TV comes back to display the screen of the monitor again.
After I rebooted the system, the TV-OUT was not working initially, TV displays light gray again. But after run TVTool once without doing anything, the TV-OUT starts working even if quit TVTool now. So now when I want to use TV-OUT, I have to run TVTool once and the quit it. It is much better than nothing works at all.
I cannot explain why this happens. It looks that the TVTool enables something in the chip of the video card. Hope this will help somebody else.
BTW, this is my first and will be the last video card from MSI.

i m also having the same MX440 card , i am also having one problem with it..
i can run the TV-OUT option easily..
but as the screen of computer is displayed in the TV, but when i try to run any movie on my PC and i want to see the movie simultaniously at the same time , it is not possible ..
i can only see it on the primary display which is set.. , it coult be TV or monitor..
i want to see the same movie in both the display at the same time , is that possible ?

When I sync music this one song isn't under the right letter

The problem is the song "The Show Goes On" isn't under 'T' and I was just wondering if anyone could help me out?

I think you'll find that's just how it is. "The" gets dropped from titles when they are listed. I have the same with "The Man Who Sold the World" (both the song and the album!), and "The Suburbs". But anyway, that's quite enough info about my musical tastes!
