ITouch connectivity

I am trying to connect to the internet using my new iTouch. In each case there seems to a connectivity problem. I get pop ups saying that "Safari can't find the server." or "The connection to the outgoing server failed." "Error in retrieving data", when trying to use the stock function button on the iTouch.
I have checked the wifi connection and it says that it is connected and indicates the current network that my computer is using.
Everything else seems to work fine. However; this device is not quite that useful without the internet connection.
Thank you
WL

On the iPod touch, go to Settings>Wi-Fi and select the network you are using. In the next menu, press the "Forget this Network" button. Turn the iPod touch off, then back on and reconnect.
This is how I solved my connection problem.
It may also be your wireless base station, I use an AirPort Extreme 802.11n base station. Other companies may require you to allow the iPod touch on your network through the computer.

  • ITunes opens but gets error message when itouch connected

I had my iTouch connected to my laptop when I was prompted to upgrade iTunes. Unfortunately, I didn't think about removing the iTouch, and now iTunes will open on my laptop, but the minute I plug in my iTouch, I get a Microsoft error in iTunes and it closes. This also happens now when I connect my iTouch to my PC (both have Windows XP). I uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled, but it still occurs. Please help. What could have happened?
    Thanks, Sandy

Hairpants: I have the exact same problem with my iPhone, but only on certain Apple TV's. YouTube (via Safari) and TED (app) both play at home fine, but I get the "error occurred loading this content" on the ATV at work. Very frustrating.
Winston: I wouldn't think an app wouldn't "block" AirPlay, but rather wouldn't build support into the app. But I am not an app developer, so I'm just guessing. Example: the new YouTube app only support audio over AirPlay, not video. You don't get an error on your ATV, it just doesn't push the video data.

  • Ipod itouch connection problems

    WRT54GS v1; firmware 4.71.1
itouch connects wirelessly and is assigned ip address, subnet mask and dns servers as expected.  router shows itouch in DHCP clients table.
when i attempt to access web i get  'cannot connect to server' error.
other wireless laptops and hardwired pc's connect and access inet fine.
itouch connects and accesses web flawlessly at local coffee shop
45 minutes on support line with apple yielded no answers - the best they can offer is that it is the router.
    help!

    FOUND THE PROBLEM!!!!
it seems the itouch cannot handle multiple DNS servers.  it turns out my internet provider's (cablevision) first listed DNS server was down.  the itouch does not look at alternates.  once i discovered that by pinging it, i changed the order of DNS servers on my router putting one of the active DNS servers first.
after that, worked like a charm!!!

  • I can not join the my home WIFI network. I have iPhone and iTouch connected as well as my windows laptop. I have trie power on rese, and network reset

I can not join the my home WIFI network. I have iPhone and iTouch connected as well as my windows laptop. I have trie power on rese, and network reset. What do I do next?

This is something else you can try.
Go to Settings>WiFi>Your Network Name (tap the blue arrow)>Forget this Network. Reboot your iPad, hold down on the sleep button at the top for a couple of seconds until the red slider appears, slide to shut down. Then press the sleep button again until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button and the iPad will restart. Try to join your network again.

  • ITouch connecting to AirPort via wireless

Can I get my new iTouch to play music back through my Apple AirPort devices?

A usb to ethernet converter will not work.
You need to replace the USB modem with an ethernet modem.
    Check out the following website.
    Reviews of equipment
    http://www.adslguide.org.uk/reviews/
As most ADSL Modem Routers are setup through a web browser you should be fine with a Mac.
Personally I use plusnet and Netgear ADSL Modems. One is a DG834G combined device and the other is a DM602 Modem Router connected to an AEBS.
I would also check out ADSL Nation's X-Modem.
    http://www.adslnation.co.uk/products/xmodem-ce.php
which can also be used in conjunction with an AEBS or AX.

  • Ipad 1 and iTouch connection issues

    Hello
I have just brought my first Mac (iMac) and I am slowly getting used to it, everything positive so far...except! I have an old iPad 1 that my son uses for his speech therapy and an old itouch (orginal itouch), when I try to connectthem to the new iMac they cannot connect, the screen on both just flashes, trying to connect and charge but without success. They connected perfectly on my Windows PC before I tried to move to the Mac.
    Any ideas anyone please!
    Thanks
    G

No it's not jailbroken. I will never do that to any of my devices. I am talking about memory. I have plenty of storage. Just tired of apps crashing back to the home screen.

  • Itouch connection issues

Before I used this one connection all the time but one night it just stopped so I figured it'd work in the morning, but it hasn't worked ever since. I've tried restting my networks or whatever you call it, and restarting my itouch, etc. but nothing works. I connect to others, I don't have a home connection so yeah. It's been bugging me for daysss. I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix my problem.

If you use someone else's wi-fi connection without permission then your are stealing.
They pay for the service and you use it without permission - STEALING.
    You cannot do this.

  • Itouch connection to wifi

I just bought a new itouch and can't connect to wifi when i am out, say starbucks. took to best buy and they couldn't fix it. any suggestions?

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
I assume that in Settings > WiFi that you have it turned on(?). Do you get a list of SSIDs (Wireless Network names) when you do that?
Select the Starbucks one (called T-Mobile in UK Starbucks anyway). Then press the Home button and then touch Safari. You'll be taken to the T-Mobile proxy server where you enter your account name and password in a web page.

  • ATV2, iMac, Windows 7 Laptop, Iphone and iTouch Connectivity

    Hi all,
I am frustrated as ****. Here's the deal.
I am running an Airport Extreme basestation (AEB) home wireless network with full connectivity from all devices to the outside world. I have my main iTunes (10.1.2) library on my iMac (OSx 10.6.6) and my son has an iTunes (10.1.2) library on his Windows 7 laptop. I have home sharing enabled on the iMac, ATV2 and Win7 Laptop all using the same Apple_ID.
My iPhone 4 and Itouch Remote Apps (home sharing also turned on) will both connect to the ATV2 and to the Win7 iTunes library. However, while both see the library on the iMac they will not connect to it. I can also stream from the iPhone and iTouch over Airtunes to the AVT2.
My ATV2 will see both the iMac Library and the Win7 library but will only physically connect to the Win 7 library.
My Win 7 library can see the iMac library but won't connect to it, similar to the iPhone, iTouch and ATV2.
My iMac library can't see the Win7 library at all. However I can connect my iMac to the windows laptop for simple file transfer between the iMac and the windows laptop and I can also play music from the iMac library over Airtunes to the ATV2.
With all this connectivity going on I am at a loss as to why iPhone, ATV2, iTouch and Win 7 Laptop can all see the iMac library but won't make the connection to it when each one of those devices all work together perfectly fine and all devices are on the same AEB wireless network.
This must be something very small on the iMac/Itunes side?
    Help Please......

  • IPhone 3G won't connect to wifi, it's been connected before but now it won't work, the iTouch connects with no problem, it's just the phone. I've tried resetting it, updating it, and everything and still no luck.

I have a iPhone 3G that is running 3.1 and about 2 days ago, it was fine, connecting to wifi and everything. But now, it won't even find any networks? I've tried going to public places (I.E. McDonald's) and other places that have free wifi, and it can't detect the wifi, Why won't my phone find my home wifi now? I've tried resetting the network settings, I've reset the entire phone, i've done about everything all the other posts talked about. Anyone else got an idea?

I have, yes. I've been shutting it down by holding the sleep/wake key and the home button, aswell. Then I go in and reset network settings and I just get back to it not finding any wifi around. It has the little searching sign, but it just keeps going with nothing showing up.

  • ITouch connection to iTunes

itouch is recognized by itunes as an iphone with error message "An iPhone has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the iPhone, then try again." Replaced iTouch and re-downloaded iTunes with same results.

pls follow this thread to see if it is the same case as yours
