ITouch Frozen on Apple Logo and Not Charging

I have a second generation iTouch that is stuck on the low power and Apple logo even though I've plugged it in to my computer. It will stay on the logo screen for a couple of minutes, then go back to the low power, and again in a cycle.
If I unplug the iTouch, it will tell me the battery is low and to plug it in, and it won't show the logo screen. When I do plug it in, it has a little lightning sign but it's been charging so long that I don't think it's actually charging.
I've tried holding down the home and sleep buttons simultaneously, but to no effect.
Also, I can't restore it to factory settings because it's not being recognized by my iTunes.
Please help!

Sounds like a hardware issue. I would get it looked at. You may need a new battery.

  • Frozen on apple logo and not connecting to iTunes

I've had my iPod Touch for one year and then suddenly the other day, without having done anything, it got stuck at the apple loge starting page, but with a "broken" apple (see pic: http://i48.tinypic.com/i405tw.jpg ) I've tried tuning it on and off with the home and on/off button. I've tried letting it drain of battery and complete recharging it, and I've tried making it connect to iTunes by holding down the home button, but the only thing that happened was this: http://tinypic.com/r/20avrt5/6
Does anybody know if there's anything I can do?

Mine is 14 months old and I put it into sleep mode yesterday and this morning it would only show the Apple logo for a few minutes and them it showed me the battery with a very small red line (all but completely dead). iTunes didn't recognize it either. I searched and tried everything I could find the net for about 6 hours (what a waste of my time) but, I found the solution on a Mac forum that worked for my 32gig 2nd gen iTouch. I had to do a full restore but now it seems to be working fine.
This is the link to where I found the answer:

Here's the info from the post if you don't want to read everything:

the ipod should power up, and if if is screwed up, will be in recovery mode... from there iTunes will tell you that it finds your ipod in that mode, and needs to restore it.
just click restore, sit back and it should work again.
did you hack it at all?
if you did not hack it, and that doesn't work, call applecare and see what they say. maybe it is faulty?
still, from my experience with my friends ipod that i made 100% unusable, there is a way to restore even the most broken ipod as long as it has a battery charge.
i suspect a small portion of the memory is dedicated to keeping emergency boot files that allowed you to restore, no matter how bad things get." End quote.
It seems to be working fine now. I suspect the 3.1 update is what caused the problems because before I PAID to install it everything worked fine for 14 months.
Words of caution...."If it ain't broke...don't fix it."

  • IPad 2 stuck on apple logo and not charging but keeps rebooting without getting to the lock screed

My iPad 2 ran out of battery last night while I was playing a game on it, it keeps attempting to reboot but only gets as far as the apple logo before powering off, displaying low battery screen and rebooting again,  it has been on it's charger all night, I have tried resetting it but it just starts up again, can anyone tell me how to force it to shut down so it can try to charge before i try it again? (I can't get to the lock or the screen and pressing the power button and the home button together won't work) I thought the charger/cable may have been the problem but no cable or charger seems to work.
It doesn't seem to matter to it if it's connected to a computer or not

I am having the exact same problem!! did anyone figure anything out with this?!?!?!
it just keeps trying to reboot and it only gets as far as the logo then it'll reboot again!!

  • My itouch show me apple logo and freeze

my itouch show me apple logo and freeze
    Nobody can help me?

Have you tried a hard reset yet?  To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear. This may not work the first time around, so be sure to try this at least 2 - 3 times.
If that doesn't work, try connecting the device to your iTunes library in Recovery Mode and restoring it.  See this article for instructions on getting your iPod Touch into Recovery Mode.

Apple recommends backing up the data when you're getting the battery replaced by them. So I assume that you will likely lose the data during this process.
Will the data on my iPhone be preserved?
No, during the service process all data on your iPhone will be erased. Before obtaining service, it is important to back up your data using iCloud or iTunes. Apple is not responsible for the loss of information while servicing your iPhone and does not offer any data transfer service. During service, Apple may exchange your iPhone with an iPhone that is new or equivalent to new in performance and reliability.
Following service, your iPhone may have a newer operating system (iOS) version and you will need torestore your data using the method used to back it up (iCloud or iTunes). As a result, you may also need to update your App Store applications to ensure compatibility with the newer iOS. If you experience a problem with an application purchased from the App Store, check to see if an update is available or contact the application vendor directly.

  • Ipod touch 3G frozen on Apple logo and loading circle sign thing

My ipod touch 3G randomly turned off this morning and when i turned it on, it got stuck on the Apple logo. i have tried resetting it, but it just comes up with the apple logo and the loading circle sign thing. i cannot restore my ipod, as my computer that i sync my ipod with is curently dead and the charger isn't working, so i am waiting for a new one. Therefore, i cannot restore my ipod onto our desktop computer. Itunes on the desktop computer still recognises the ipod and charges it as well, though it won't sync and i can't try restoring it and it just won't work properly. This is a major dilemma.

    Hey Fellow iPod user,
Try holding doen home and sleep
    or you can try this
1: PLUG YOUR IPOD INTO YOUR COMPUTER!!!
2: HOLD THE "HOLD" AND THE "MENU" BUTTON UNTIL THE TOUCH'S SCREEN GOES BLACK AND SHOWS THE APPLE LOGO AGAIN THEN RELEASE THE BUTTONS!!!
    3: WAIT ABOUT 5-15 MINUTES!!!
4: YOUR COMPUTER WILL MAKE A "CHIME" SOUND AND THEN THE IPOD WILL SHOW THE LOCKED SCREEN WITH THE BATTERY LOGO...
    Cheers.

  • Ipod touch frozen on apple logo and thinking circle

Hello. I just purchased an iPod touch from ebay. It is stuck on the apple logo and the thinking circle, and I tried rebooting it by holding the home button or by holding the sleep button. Neither one works.
    Help?

I assume that you tried to RESET it and it did not work. It is probably not connecting to iTunes to RESTORE I assume.
At this point I am not sure if putting the device in [*_RECOVERY MOVE_*|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808] and then RESTORING it will work or not or whether you would be able to put the iPod Touch in RECOVERY MODE to move forward. If it doesn't work then I would recommend either taking it to an Apple Store for evaluation or sending back to the ebay seller for a refund.

  • Screen is frozen on apple logo and standard reset not working

All of a sudden the apple logo appeared on the screen of my 6th generation ipod classic and the standard process to reset will not work although I've attempted it numerous times. I also noticed that my ipod is not being recognized by either My Computer in Windows 7 or ITunes. I need help desperately!

So you can't the iPod to boot past the Apple logo? What happens if you try to manually force it into Disk Mode? Does that work?  If so, you can try connecting it to your PC and iTunes in that mode to see if that will iTunes or your PC recognize it long enough for you to perform a restore operation.

  • IPhone hangs at Apple logo, and not recognized by pc

I've got the weirdest problem. My iPhone 3G is bricked. It will go on, display the apple logo, then display the round "budy" symbol and then hangs for 10 minutes and then it resets itself and starts over.
I tried to hook it up to my PC but it is not recognized, not by my PC nor by iTunes. The iPhone will charge when connected to the PC, but it's just not transmitting data.
I can get the iPhone in recovery mode. I turn on iTunes, then I hold the home button, slide the connector in while keeping the hold button down, and then the itunes logo with the cable and the arrow shows up. iTunes however does not recognize it. It is not shown in device manager either.
I can also get it into DFU (i think). I turn on iTunes. The phone is off, and connected via USB. I hold the power button for 3 seconds (it boots after 1), then press the hold button for 10 seconds (it goes off after 7) and then release the power button while holding the hold button. The iPhone is now in DFU mode (i think, as it does not respond to anything but a forced shutwodn with pwr+hold). Still the PC and iTunes do not recognize any device is connected. As if it is not even there, but the iPhone is being charged.
I can't restore it now, and I don't know what else I can try. Any suggestions?

You've done most everything there is to do, on that computer. Try it on another computer before regulating it to paperweight status. It's probably the hardware, but I've had them surprise me a time or two

  • Ipod touch repeats logo and not charging

So i have had my ipod touch for a long time and today i left it to charge before i went to school
When i came home, the Ipod Touch was stuck on the logo.
when i took it off the charger it showed a picture of a plug thing and a lightening bolt with the battery picture with a little rd strip indicating that it needs to be charged.
i was confused because i had charged it at home while i was at school.
i first tried charging it on my computer intead of the wall but it does the same thing.
it would show that it was being charged by just showing a lightening bolt and the battery with the red strip. then it would switch to the apple logo as if it were about to turn on but then it would just turn off and repeat this process of looking like its charging, apple logo, turn off.
Also, when i plugged it into the computer, itunes wont pop up.
i have also tried holding the power button and home button and everything with holding it for 10 seconds and such.
i really need help because my ipod is like my life, please help.

See if placing the iPod in recovery mode will apllow iTunes to see the iPod so you can restore it.
If still problem then I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since you very likely have a hardware problem like a dead battery.

  • Ipod nano flashes between apple logo and battery charge icon

  • Updated to IOS 8 and now power button does not respond and screen is frozen with apple logo.

Updated iPad to IOS 8 -- screen locked.  Now screen is frozen with apple logo and the power button is not responding.
    Thanks for any help!

That is normal while it is loading the update. Give it some time(shouldn't be more than 40 minutes). If not, hold the home & sleep/wake button until it is black, and then it restarts.
