ITouch iCal sync with iCal on MAC

My entries on iCal on my iTouch do not sync with my iCal on my MAC. Calendar and home are checked on both. Please help.

Did you already try to delete the sync history in iSync on your Mac?

Suddenly ICal & Address Book stopped syncing with Outlook for Mac

2 days ago, ICal and Address Book stopped syncing with Outlook for Mac 2011. I still have full functionality of Email in Outlook.
What is wrong and how can I fix it?

Any solution here yet? I have the same issue. After upgrading to Yosemite Outlook for mac kept requiring me to "rebuild identity database"
I did this many times so there were many new identities.
Finally I researched and found out that after the Yosemite update outlook would rebuild identity and once you do that there is a mismatch of your email account in outlook which just needs to be deleted and re-added to fix.
Now since then my outlook contacts and apple address book do not speak to each other.
If I make a new contact on my iphone and sync with my mac it will appear in apple address book.
If I make a new contact in outlook it will not appear on the iPhone.
So the phone is communicating and syncing with apple address book but wherever the apple address book goes to find the outlook contacts it must be using one of the older "identities"
Also now when I am in outlook and go from email to contacts it takes about 20 seconds to open the 5,300 contacts and it used to be instant.
Is there a way to view where outlook is getting the data? When I go into Outlook Preferences, Sync Services, "On My Computer:" is the one that is chosen so that should be good.
Any help?

Does the iPod show up in iTunes on the Mac? If not try:

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
Otherwise what happens when you try to sync? Note that you can only sync with one iTunes library/computer. If that is the problem you should go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase and content and setting and set up the iPod on you computer/iTunes library. One content on the iPod does not belong to you.

If you turned off Contacts wouldnt that mean that the Contacts would no longer be backed up to iCloud as well? That would make it a pain when upgrading a phone to not easily pull contacts back down.

Media Card Unreadable after sync with BBD for Mac

Everytime i sync with bbd for mac my media card is unreadable. I can see the file on the mac. bbd shows the card. I have to format the card and use a a windows pc to sync and rebuild the card. any ideas on how to fix this so i can sync with my mac. I am running snow leopard with the latest updates.

Perhaps you're enjoying the bittersweet changes in iTunes 8.1. Many users, me included, have seen our 2nd gen shuffles become much more inconvenient to use after this upgrade.

Solution to syncing with both a Mac & PC

This is for anyone trying to sync their contacts, calendar & bookmarks from a PC, and all of their media from their Mac. I had many problems, but finally figured it out (PTBoater, you led me down the right path!). You have to uncheck "automatically sync" on the info page, and check "only sync checked items". Then after you finish syncing with either the Mac or PC, uncheck both of them, click apply, and disconnect and the device should be recognized by the other machine. This worked for me...hopefully it will work for any of you guys out there struggling with it...

I have to do it with each sync....and it still doesnt work every time. Definetely not as elegant as the sync experience with a single machine.
I could be wrong on this, but you may run into issues. If I understand what you;re saying, you are trying to sync contacts between Mac & PC. Not sure this will work. I'm thinking (again, I'm not the expert here) the only reason what I'm proposing will work, is that I am syncing different data (i.e. contacts, bookmarks ONLY on the PC sync, and music, etc. ONLY on the Mac; no syncing same data on multiple machines). Not sure...but good luck

Next time that happens while on WiFi, turn WiFi off in settings, wait about 30 seconds or so, then turn WiFi back on. Sometimes you have to do this two or three times, but this fixes that issue as well.

They do not have the same apple id's. I want to sync notes to my personal computer through icloud - just not my work computer. I will try to delete the account for my work Mac the way you suggest. I just can't figure out how my Mac Pro linked to my personal iPhone. They are separate accounts, separate ids, separate emails, Mac Pro account was set up by the IT guy at work. Ical no longer syncs with isync or .mac

Ical on my PowerBook G4 no longer syncs with .mac or via isync. When I open ical, none of the events on the calendars display. After moving between "month" and "week" I can get the events to display. When I sync, I receive a window saying " Can't synchronize calendars and To Do items to iCal: device is not available." This is not the same as the message normally received when an external device such as an ipod is not connected. Bookmarks and Address Book are synchronizing without problem. Anybody out there experienced something similar? I have tried throwing away the ical preferences .plist from the library but that has not helped.

I don't have Panther available anymore so I'm shooting in the dark. You might try to stop syncing and then turn syncing back on (the idea is to break the connection and start new) Be sure to have a backup of anything you can't lose.
You might also try trashing iSync preferences.

ICal not sync with my 2 macs

I have an iMac and macbook, both with leopard, and .Mac account. Everything was syncing fine until last week. Now only iCal does not isync. On .Mac calendar, I can view a calendar originating from my iMac. Still, when I isync my macbook, it does not pick up new calendar info. I have reset sync data, under the advance button under .Mac tab on both computers. I would appreciate any thoughts. Thanks

i would suggest you do the following:
1) reset sync history in isync>preferences on both macs
2) unregister both macs from .mac and if prompted purge/get rid of sync data
3) quit ical, trash/delete the file com.apple.ical.plist from homefolder/library/preferences n both macs
4) choose the mac with the most up to date info
5) on that mac go to .mac preferences, and register to .mac again, once that is done click on the advanced button and sync by reseting sync data, replacing data on .mac with data from that mac.
6) log on .mac, go to ab contacts and bookmarks, and with each make sure you are prompted to confirm the reset - log out and in until you are prompted to do just that - go forward with the reset.
7) once done, go to the second mac, register with .mac, and sync by reseting sync data, repacing data on that computer with data from .mac.

ICal syncs with iPhone from Mac but won't sync Outlook events

I want to get all of my events from my Mac 2011 Outlook to sync through iCloud with iCal for my MacBook and iPhone. I've been able to get the events to show in iCal on my MacBook when I accept them from outlook, but they won't then sync with my iPhone unless I plug it into my computer? Is there any way to fix this? I also can't change any of the Outlook events once they're in iCal, I have to do so straight from outlook. The outlook events come in in their own calendar called "no category" that's grey. Any suggestions?

Outlook no longer syncing with iPhone and Mac??

I was formerly syncing Outlook with iPhone just fine on my Mac...now it's not working!! I think I had to do something via iCal. Whatever it was it's not working and need help ASAP! (no need for iCloud and know that does not work!!!)

I have the same problem too. My iphone is not syncing with my addressbook on the mac, no matter what I try, it is very very frustrating!!

Doesn't seem to sync with Entourage or .mac, no calendar list

I use Entourage. It's set up to sync with .mac and iCal. My Entourage calendar shows up fine on my iPhone. In my iCal, it only shows a few of the Entourage entries and doesn't show anything in the calendar list. iTunes, sync properties for the iPhone show 3 calendars, Entourage, @Work, @Home. If I add something to iCal, it doesn't make it to Entourage. On the right it shows it's the Entourage calendar and publishes on .mac whenever there is a change. When I first bring up iCal, it shows nothing until I change the view to a different Day, Week, or Month. iCal seems to be very disconnected for some reason.

Any solution on this problem? I'm experiencing the exact same problem on our 2 GHz iMac Core 2 Duo.

Best phone for syncing with Office for Mac 2008?

I'll be getting a new phone in a few months and I want to get one that syncs perfectly and effortlessly with Office for Mac 2008.
I currently use a Motorola Q and a Macbook Pro and have to go through isyncing Office with the Mac versions (iCal and Address Book) and then syncing using Missing Sync. It works, but it's slow and not very elegant.
What's the smoothest solution?

Just be careful if you use categories in Entourage for your mail, calendar and contacts and determine whether those categories will move with your contacts and other data to the iPhone when it syncs. I doubt that it will if sync services works the same way between Entourage and iCal because it doesn't support the category capabilities in Entourage which is why people had turned to Missing Sync for the 2004 version of MS Office 2004
