ITouch is stuck on a boot loop...

My iPod Touch (second generation) is stuck on what appears to be a boot loop. It turns on to the Apple logo then it flickers as if to turn on, shuts off, and restarts. The cycle takes about 5-10 seconds. I have no idea what's happening to it. I can't turn it off; I've tried restarting it, and it just keeps on going.
Before you ask; I've never jailbroken my iPod. I was always too paranoid that something like this would happen.

- If you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try DFU mode again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Harddrive stuck in a boot loop

I have a Toshiba satelilite a105 s 4074, the hard drive crashed, but it is stuck in a boot loop. I want to recover my photos, everything else doesnt matter. Any ideas?

    Hi,
You have many options to do i am telling you as you find best do it.
First you can probably buy return disks from HP.
Second you could remove the harddrive and install as a slave drive in a different computer to access the files.
Third, you could buy a second harddrive and Windows CD and install windows to the new drive while connecting the old drive as a slave.
Fourth, you could use a live version of Linux such as Knoppix to attempt to copy the files to another source. Other possible sources include your CD/DVD burner and external drives.
    Thanks

  • Changes the LCD density on my Lenovo S6000l and now im stuck in a boot loop

I used a program called LCD Density to change my dpi from 160 to 200.
It asked me to reset and i did and now im stuck in a boot loop.
Anything that i can do to fix it.
I did a factory reset but that didnt worl.
Please, i dont know what to do.

I'm sorry this is still happening crimsong19! If you have the Extended Warranty, it's for the life of the phone as long as it's activated on your line. However, if you remove the battery, like you said, it will void the warranty. At this point, you can try reaching out to Motorola to see if they can better assist with this. They may have a good solution. You can reach them at http://www.motorola.com/us/home

  • Razr is stuck in a boot loop.

Around 9 AM, my Razr (Jelly Bean 4.1.2. on Verizon) froze and rebooted (as it sometimes does when I use the camera - except Instagram, processes.android.media, and the Homescreen all stopped first). The phone was holding on the opening animatic for too long, so I did a power+volume reboot, and now my phone is stuck in a boot loop. No matter what I select (Normal Powerup, Recovery, AP Flashboot), I get "Boot Failure" and "Device is LOCKED" and "Invalid CG HAB (CG: mbr, status: 0x0056)". I've been doing some searching in the background for ways to fix the problem and I've downloaded RSD Lite and I'm downloading the 1.1 GB ROM to flash with. Anything else I can do, or is there any walkthrough to help? This is all new to me - and I haven't backed up in a while, so I'm afraid files and such will be wiped clean, even though I've seen in some forum posts that some folks haven't had anything wiped.

  • My phone is stuck in a boot loop and I don't want to factory reset...what can I do?

It is stuck on the "M" screen and is nonresponsive in all ways other than the bootloader which I already used to delete my cache partition.

cartergk, Let's get you out of this Booting loop. Do you recall what activity or function the phone was processing when it began to reboot this way? You can also try a Soft Reset by pressing and holding the Power button for approximately 10 seconds or until the device power cycles. If this step has been tried to no avail; the best next step would be the one provided by GalaxyClass. Here are the steps to process the Factory Data Reset: "Alternate Method: http://vz.to/1tynkBD. Please keep us posted on this.

  • Imac is stuck in a boot loop and wont go into safe mode and has a yellow tint.

I wanted to play Sim 3 on my mac and 2 times it wouldnt load and the 3rd time it crashed and thats when the boot loop started. The startup screen has like a yellow tint to it and when I try to use safe mode the bar doesnt fill and it just restarts again. My mac is connected to another screen but I don't think that affects it. This is what my screen looks like.

Depending on the age and use of the phone, this could be a defective battery. You should get ti checked by visiting an Authorized Apple Service Provider or Apple Store next to your place.

  • My iphone 4 is stuck in a boot loop

The main problem was that i dropped it on CARPET but then the cell signal dropped so i started to reboot it. Then after 30 mins later the phone still didn't reboot but stuck on the boot screen and when i plugged it to my PC, the phone started to boot and as it happened the screen went blank and restarted to boot again but as it went through it the next 5 times it started to register with itunes with the PC. So what is wrong with it and why is it rebooting so many times?

It's broken, that's what's wrong with it.  Bring it into the Apple store for evaluation and/or replacement.  Or buy a new phone.

  • My itouch 3g is stuck in a boot loop. The apple logo shows up for about 3 seconds and then turns off. I can't get it to go into dfu or recovery mode. Please Help!

I don't know what to do.

This device is not eligible for the requested build (Also sometimes displayed as an "error 3194")
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Third-party security software or router security settings can also cause this issue. To resolve this, followTroubleshooting security software issues.
Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to performunauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. Uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer.
Edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from your hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. For steps to edit the Hosts file and allow iTunes to communicate with the update server, see iTunes: Troubleshooting iTunes Store on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you do not uninstall the unauthorized modification software prior to editing the hosts file, that software may automatically modify the hosts file again on restart.
Avoid using an older or modified .ipsw file. Try moving the current .ipsw file (see Advanced Steps > Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw) below for file locations), or try restoring in a new user to ensure that iTunes downloads a new .ipsw.

Test the memory and memory slots - remove the memory sticks and then install only one of them and try to start, try one at a time and in each different slot to check for dirty loose connection, bad or failing memory, or bad memory slot.
If you created a Windows 7 repair disc you can try to use it, set the bios to boot from CD/DVD first to see it will boot from the drive.

  • 79A-BD45 8D is stuck in a boot loop.

Yesterday I ran the MSI update utility and it said there was an updated bios A.70 which made the system more compatible with memory issues.  I am running 2 x 4gbs of Hyper X because the system won't boot with the other two sticks installed.  I thought this bios update might help.  After the update, and upon reboot, the system posted that I had no operating system installed.  I then reinstalled the old bios.  When it restarted it would start for about 5 seconds and then reboot.  I have reset the CMOS and this is all the system does.  Any ideas?

sounds like the bios flash has bricked the board! if i was you i would get it sent back to MSI for repair as the flash bad (if your in the EU then take it back to the shop and tell them it needs to be sent to MSI to be reflashed with a working bios)
in future don't use the Live Update software from MSI for BIOS flashes as Windows is a unstable enviroment to do that in!
perform future flashes either in DOS or via this tool >>Use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<< as them 2 options are much safer!

  • HTC Rezound stuck in a boot-loop

Hi all. I have a HTC Rezound that was purchased from Verizon six months ago, and I just started having a big problem with it. The phone is stock and locked, and I was/am up-to-date with the latest ota update. Yesterday, I tried turning on the WiFi, and it would start to scan and then immediately disconnect. I didn't really think anything of it at the time, so I just turned on 4G and went about my day. I had the same issue today, however, so I decided to reboot my phone. When I did, it brought up the white and green HTC screen for a few seconds, and then proceeded to reboot - over and over again. I went through the online support here at verizonwireless.com, and it was suggested that I do a factory reset. I couldn't get into the OS, so I used HBOOT and completed the factory reset. It is still rebooting repeatedly. Any suggestions? Does it sound like this might be a hardware issue that would be covered by manufacturer warranty? Thanks in advance for any help!

    Do the below procedure
    1.  take off the back cover
    2.  take out the battery
    3.  remove the 4G SIM card  (and leave it out)
    4.  put the battery back in
    5.  turn on the phone (it should boot fine, with the exception of it saying there is no SIM card inserted…this is fine, just ignore this for now)
    6.  from the homescreen…hit menu > settings > wireless and networks > mobile networks > network mode > select LTE/CDMA
    7.  turn off the phone
    8.  take off the back cover
    9.  take out the battery
    10.  re-insert the 4G SIM card
    11.  put the battery back in
    12.  turn on the phone
This is what I did to fix my bootlooping problem with my Rezound. Let me know if this works for you also. There are some other tricks, but you first have to stop the constant bootlooping.

  • What to do when stuck in a boot-loop?

I've tried to reset, even to factory.  Nothing.  It went crazy when someone called me.  No physical damage, no new software. Anything else I can do?  I saw someone else had the same problem but with no resolution.  Any help here?

So I called TS thinking my only route was a replacement as factory reset was just shutting phone down.   While on the phone, we tried erasing the cache. It erased the cache and restarted, but got back to the red eye.  While the replacement was being issued, I tried a factory reset again, and it worked!  Unfortunately, the replacement was already issued. I asked to cancel it, but it showed up on my doorstep the next day.  Current phone is working again.  I still need to send back the replacement box.

  • Iphone4 is stuck in a boot loop

Restoring it in recovery or DFU mode doesn't work. i keep getting errors (Different ones every time) Any ideas?

No. You do NOT send your device to the US. warranty and support are only valid in the country of origin. The only exception being the EU where the entire EU is treated as one country for warranty purposes.
Take the device to Apple or whomever provides support in your country.
