ITouch not recognized....but Classic is... Windows 7 64 bit...please help.

I just purchased a new Dell with Windows 7 64 bit. It will not recognize my iTouch. It will recognize my other iPods.
I deleted McAfee and installed Windows Security Essentials. The Apple Mobile Device is active and automatic. It has been authorized.
Here is the kicker: I have a Dell 1545 laptop I use for work...Windows 7 and running the same security. I loaded iTunes to share iTunes. When I plug the iTouch into the laptop, it recognizes it. I immediately disconnect it to avoid transferring the paid apps.
Can anyone help. I can be emailed directly at [email protected] or posted on the forum. This is very frustrating.

Restart computer
Refer to following article to remove SC file(s):
Win 7/Vista http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2363
WinXP http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1776
Then proceed to repair your Quicktime:
Win7/Vista - Start / Control Panel / Programs n Features.
WinXP - Start / Control Panel / Add n Remove Programs
Highlight QUICKTIME and click CHANGE then REPAIR

    Also try to remove Scanner and its drivers, then reinstall it for test.

    is it plugged directly into the computer? are your usb drivers up to date? what kind of antivirus do you have>Disable it if you have it

    Let's try to get an idea of what might be going on with some preliminary questions from b noir's "smack" for iTunes launch failures:
    Is there an error message associated with the launch failure?
    If so, what does it say and what (if any) error numbers are there?
    If there's not an error message, let's check your QuickTime (its well-being is a requirement for a functioning iTunes).
    Go to the XP Start menu > All Programs and try running QuickTime.
    Does it start?
    If not, then the same question as for iTunes - is there an error message?
    If so, what does it say and what (if any) error numbers are there?
    Do you notice any other peculiar behavior with QuickTime?

  • I can not get Firefox to reset to normal size. I have tried everything including reinstalling it. Only some webpages like Facebook are large & it will not reset but in IE it is normal. Please help because I hate IE & really do not want to use it!

    When I open Facebook and a few other webpages the screen size is large and some of the info will not appear. I have tried everything to reset the size and it does not work. I have even zoomed out and the missing info still does not appear. But if I log into IE it is just fine and all the info is there and is useable.   • Curve 8330 is not recognized by Desktop Manager.... Please help.

    I brought home my 8330 and downloaded the Desktop manager (v4.7).  After many attempts for my phone to show that the USB was staying connected, my Desktop Manager still refuses to recongize that my phone is connected.  I am lost as to what to do next.  I have had v4.5 and then tried v4.7.  Can anyone offer and help/suggestions?

    My computer recently had some problems a few months back and I had to delete some things and get rid of programs, iTunes being one of them.
    I have tried to get it back, and it won't let me. It doesn't even begin installing. It tries to go to the installing screen, but the installer completed sign comes up and says "The installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured. Your system has not been modified.     Hmmmm. Unfortunately, most of the helpful documentation and discussion i've seen about the RAID issues has related to the Intel Matrix Storage Manager drivers, and most of the SATA documentation and discussions relates to PCs with nVidia video cards (and/or other nVidia componentry).
    I had a quick check at ASUS, and it looks like it might be worth doublechecking to see if your BIOS is up to date. (Some of the BIOS updates they are listing there mention improved SATA compatibility and performance.) But I'm a bit uncomfortable about that advice, since there's a P5SD2-X and a P5SD2-X SE motherborad being listed there.
    so it might be prudent to doublecheck your motherboard model prior to any attempted BIOS upgrades. This ASUSTek document may be of some assistance:

    Hi there, I have an 80gb Ipod classic which is not recognized by itunes or windows. The "Use iTunes to restore" message appears on my ipod but when I connect it to my pc itunes does not recognize it. Windows shows a message informing me that I need to format the drive but is then unable to do so. Ipod will not go into disk mode either. I have tried reinstalling itunes and using the ipod in a different usb drive. I have also connected it to a mac and a windows pc but nothing happens. I have tried to use the diagnostics mode on the ipod but that will not work either. I am wondering if my ipod's hard drive is corrupted.
