ITouch syncing difficulty

Had some difficulty getting a connection on this particular unit related to authentication. But connecting ok now. HOWEVER, neither the email or the calendar is syncing. Can send email, and of course a bunch of email loaded with the first sync, but nothing else will sync anymore. Suggestions appreciated.

What version of iOS, what build of Mobility, and what version of POA?
Does this user have any other devices? Do they sync properly?
Do other users have iTouches which sync?
Does the Mobility Connector monitor page show pending items?

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
Did you fail to back up your pics?
The photo sync is one way - comptuer to ipod.
You can e-mail them to yourself (instructions in the manual), but they will not be of the original quality.

  • Itouch sync won't start

Hi...I am trying to do a sync with my iTouch 4th generation (running 5.1.1), but am getting message that the "iTouch sync won't start".
I've done some searches on this, but most just say to reboot or do a reset, which I have done, but with no success.  Anyone know other options on resolving this issue?

Was the error sync session failed to start? If so have you looked at these previous discussions:

  • ITouch Sync Speed to Vista Laptop

If I just connect my Itouch to my laptop and add new tunes via Itunes then the sync speed is very slow. However, if I also connect my old Ipod 30Gb video at the same time to any other USB port the Itouch sync speed increases dramatically! Much faster - almost as quick as the old Ipod. Is this an Itunes issue? It's a bit weird as the old Ipod syncs correctly on it's own. The Itouch has the latest - 3.0 - firmware.

This ABSOLUTELY solved my problem... everyone having hang up problems check this out! It worked perfect. Thanks for the help man... Hope itunes have this fixed soon.

  • ITouch sync issue

Upgraded to Snow Leopard AFTER first ITouch sync and now ITunes wants to wipe the ITouch when I want to add new songs.

Backup to iTunes and then restore from backup

  • Why won't my itouch sync with my windows computer?

So recently I updated from IOS 4.2.1 to IOS 5.0.1 and found my windows xp computer would not sync with my ipod touch as i kept on getting an error. Well i download itunes on my windows 7 computer and it worked fine. Now when i try to plug in my ipod touch in my windows xp itunes wont even detect the itouch. Anyone have a clue to why this is? I have looked on the requirements for itunes 10 and im pretty sure my laptop meets up to it. Is it a driver issue? or what? I had a lot of stuff on the backfile when it was in IOS 4.2.1 and i don't wanna lose my files. I will downgrade to a earlier software if i have to but please can anyone help me with my problem??

That is really not a good ideal since if your iPod crashes you will loose your iTunes purchased music since it is not on your computer and you only get one download of music.

  • 2nd Gen itouch syncing

2nd Gen itouch: I am using Outlook Express on my PC & wish to continue doing so.
Succesfully synced music, photos & bookmarks but will not sync address book. I have tried using Outlook, this does not work and have followed all insructions in manual. Can anyone help?

    Can anyone help?
Not here I'm afraid. This is the *Mac OS X Technologies > iSync* forum, which has nothing to do with syncing iPod touch (not iTouch) to Windows PCs.

  • ITouch Syncs, but won't Sync.

I recently got an iTouch, and it worked great. I've had it for... 2 weeks. It's been fine until Saturday, which was 2 days ago.
My boyfriend and I tried to sync my iPod to his computer, however it said we needed more space. So, we manually managed the songs, and took about a gig worth of music off the list. Tried to sync it again, and it synced for a second. Then it stopped. It erased all of my music, except for one video clip that was 20-some minutes long.
I just got back to my house, hooked up my iPod and tried to sync. No good. So, I tried to restore, and it went on a 'Recovery Mode' loop. I fixed that problem, and tried to sync again. It did the same thing that it did at my boyfriends. HOWEVER, it still downloaded new applications and such. But no videos this time, and no music.
Could anyone give me the answer to fix this, or walk me through the process of fixing it?
    Thanks for your answers.

I know this. I wanted to erase my music with his. The only reason I tried to resync to my computer was because I had no music. And, for me, it's almost impossible to live without music. So, my old stuff was better than nothing.

  • Itouch Sync - film missing

    Hi
I have successfully synced tv, film and podcasts to mu Itouch, but when trying to sync a new film it does not appear on my Itouch. There is enough memory to hold the film, I have even deleted a film and tried again, but to no avail. Am I doing something wrong or does my Ipod just not like my choice of film?? Any ideas will be gratefully received.
    Thanks

Usually when this happens, the film you are trying to sync is in the wrong format for the touch. If this is something you got from iTunes, try downloading it again but select the SD version this time.
If it is from a different source, you can try and have iTunes convert the file into something that is iPod/iPhone compatible. If you click on the file in iTunes and go to Advanced > Create an iPod/iPhone version, it will attempt to reformat the file so it can be played.

  • Help with iTouch sync new files after system restore

I just recently did a system restore on the iTouch, backed up my previous files & restored them to the iTouch with no problems however I am not able to sync the new apps, files, pod casts etc... that I purchased to the device after the erase & restore. But they are showing up on iTunes just not the iPod.
    Thanks for any help,

I don't have an answer to your question, maybe someone else does.
What I did want to comment on, though, is that surely it was unnecessary to
uninstall a program to speed up your computer? It would have been sufficient
to leave it on your harddrive and not run it--that doesn't take up any RAM.
It won't slow up your computer unless it has some components in the startup
    folder.

  • Windows 7 and iTouch sync issues

I recently upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit.  I installed iTunes 64-bit as well.  Yesterday when I tried to sync for the first time it too me reconnecting and or restarting my iTouch 2 or 3 times before iTunes would recognize it.  My CPU recognized it right away.
Today, while trying to sync it, it is not recognizing it at all.  Also, when I load iTunes, it is taking forever to load and usually goes non-responsive for about a minute before it fully loads.  When I connect my iTouch, iTunes goes unresponsive again for about a minute but the iTouch never pops up under the "devices" tab.
Any and all advice would be very much appreciated.

back up all the files on your iTunes first. I'v experienced problems with installing and using iTunes on Windows 7 to the point were I am going to switch to mac. But thats ireavent. It took me 4+ times of downloading, deleteing, and redownloading iTunes before I was able to acually use iTunes. I'm pretty sure the problem lies in Windows 7 and not iTunes because I haven't had a single problem with Vista and iTunes. If its just slow try rebooting your system, I know I sound like an IT guy, but try it first to see what happens. Hope this helps.

  • Why is my iTouch syncing?

I connected the iTouch to the computer to recharge it's batteries. The iTunes program is not opened, but the iTouch reads as syncing. Why is my iTouch cyncing to nothing?

The default settings in iTunes is when you connect an iPot, iTunes will automatically sync the iPod to your iTunes library.  Go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and check the box that says "Prevent iPods.. syncing" to turn it off.
