When restoring to factory defaults/new iPod fails to resolve a problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple Store.

HT201406 My multi touch screen wont respond at all.
I have tried cleaning the screen and reseting and restoring my phone, I even tried to set it up as a new phone and but it seems that no matter what the middle section of the screen wont respond.
Try resetting: hold down the power and Home buttons together until the Apple Logo is displayed, and release. No data or settings will be lost.

Touch screen wont respond, touch screen wont respond\
my touch screen on my ipod touch wont respond??? any answers helpful plz....
have already did a successful recovery and updated which seemed to go well as it turns on normally but wont respond otherwise. ps. the volume control works as well...First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. -
Touch screen wont respond... :/
i dropped it in the snow, but it is not discolored. i had it in a bag of rice for several days, and only the right half of the screen is responding. i tried everything i found online, and i cant afford to take it in to fix it.
Sounds like the digitizer is damaged and needs replacement.

So i was updating my ipod earlier yesterday, i kinda steal wifi from the neighbors so it was pretty weak.... i lost wifi (i think) because it stopped loading, so i turned off my ipod. And when i tried turning it on again it did the apple logo then went to a full out pink screen. Ive tried turning it back on and off a billion times, and sometimes the screen colors will change. I recently just tried restoring it like 10 times and usually itll just interenwrupt the restoring process. By the way, wh i plug it into the computer it doesnt recognize the device. I had to put it into recovery mode. Pleasehelp, this ipotd is my life. I cant take it to the apple store because its badly cracked, and ive had it for about 2 y and a half years. PLease help.
Hi-
I had the same thing happen to me Thursday night, and I just got mine right 30 minutes ago (and it is now Saturday am). Like you I repeatedly tried to restore it (by holding down the home key and powere button at the same time; then plugging it up to my computer and trying to get it to restore through iTunes). My computer didn't initially recognize my ipod either. - One thing- be sure that your battery isn't dead/dying. If it is, charge it (it should charge-mine did), then start the process of restoring it again. Make sure when you hold the home and power keys down that you are linked to iTunes.- You will eventually get a screen that has the itunes icon it, with a usb cable underneath it. At that point your computer will recognize your ipod, and you'll be able to restore it...This will take a LONG time.- Good luck. -
Sony Xperia Z touch screen not responding
My Sony Xperia Z has been giving me problems ever since I bought it in May 2013.By October 2013 I had to send this phone for repair twice. In the last 9 months though it was doing well and there no problem till today afternoon when I found out that the touch screen was not responding. The phone was on charge when this happened and there was a heavy downpour though not a single drop fell on the phone.I tried using the power button to switch it on and off but could not use the shut the phone option because the touch screen wont respond.I have rebooted the phone and switched it off using the power+volume up button multiple times since then. After about an hour when I was trying for the umpteenth time to key in my password I saw that some numbers were randomly getting punched in.After several attempts the phone's touch screen did respond and I was able to make a call but post that the touch screen went back to the not responding mode.Another hour later and exposing the phone to the sun beating down while i was in a car helped and this time I was able to see all my msgs and mails. My elation was shortlived as the phone went back to the touch screen not responding mode.I had a short trip to make by air and I switched off my phone and put it on charge using the USB connected to my laptop. When I switched on after landing I found that I was able to key in my password but after that the phone again got stuck.Since this last occurence about two hours ago the touchscreen has not responded. It is frustrating to see that msgs are coming, people are calling and I can see the numbers, mails are getting downloaded but I cant do anything about it.Right now the phone is submerged in a jar of rice in the hope that the mositure might dry out and it will be back to normal again. Please suggest whether using the hair dryer would help or not.I must repeat the phone has not got wet.I also removed the screen guard on both the ends and the back cover to allow the phone to breath.Waiting anxiously for help

my ipod touch wont turn on ive tried restoring it but every time i do it just says its waiting for the ipod to respond. meanwhile my ipod is no longer a black screen but the apple logo with a loading bar underneath that after leaving for 8 hours hasnt moved.
Try:
- Another cable
- Another USB port
- Reboot the computer
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Got a black screen on the iPod Touch 4th Generation. Tried restoring it and holding the lock and hold buttons but this didnt work. Do i need a brand new screen?
If you successfully restored to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem. Could be the screen or something else.
