Itouch won't function, other than showing the apple logo.
I am having trouble with my Itouch. When I hold the sleep button, the apple logo appears then after about 10 seconds, black screen. I have tried to reset it, again the apple logo appears and then a black screen. I have plugged it in to the computer, again, only the apple logo appears. Attempted to charge on my Ihome radio, apple logo then a black screen. Whats going on and any ideas to make it work???

Try placing the iPod i recovery mode and then see if iTunes will see it so you can restore the iPod. For recovery mode see:

Usually means that critical system files are corrupted. Start by:
Boot into Safe Mode if possible. If it boots into safe mode, then restart the computer to see if it will boot normally. Otherwise, reinstall OS X. Unfortunately, you've not provided any information in your profile about what version of OS X you have installed. -

when syncing with itunes, got error message saying had error and now ipad2 will not do anything other than showing the USB cable with arrow pointing to Itunes on screen. have done the reset and restart, but still get same thing. Ipad does not show up in itunes even though cable plugged in. Have shut down and restarted Windows 7 computer.
I had done all of that to no avail. I did call Apple Tech Support and after he suggested I try a USB port in the rear of the Win 7 computer, things starting working again. I had tried switching the USB port at the front of the machine but that had not helped. Everything is good to go again. thanks for your reply

I restarted my itouch using the home button and top button...it restarted but it only shows the apple logo and that is it. I deleted all files from ifile and then it froze... any ideas of how to make it work again?

Last night I turned my iPod touch 4g off randomly and then when I went to turn it back on and went to unlock the screen it froze up right there and will not unlock to the home screen to where all my apps and all that are. Ever since that happened the iPod keeps showing the apple logo repeatedly, as well as a screen being completely blank when still turned on. Also when i plug in the iPod to the computer it recognizes it for a second but the iPod does nothing and shuts off and repeats in showing the apple logo and blank black screen. I can get it to the home screen where the slide to lock button is but every time i even attempt to slide it, it freezes up and doesn't do it.
I also having been trying to restore it by plugging in the cord and pressing the home button to get the screen with the usb cord to pop up but no matter what i do, it will not let me turn the iPod off period because every time i keep trying to do that it just shows the apple logo and all of what i said up above again. I have also seen it get a white screen to show a few times , which i assume means the white screen of death. I have never seen that screen before this happened.
I know this is not making any sense whatsoever but this is very hard to put into words in explaining. I have searched the internet but i can't find a single problem that sounds like this one in solving to fix it. The iPod is on right now as i'm typing this. I haven't attemtped to push the buttons down again to fix as i would assume maybe to just leave it alone as i sleep through the night in hopes of it maybe working or even dying. I've only had this iPod for 4 months now and i just don't understand why it won't let me turn it off completely or work properly for me to restore it.Try:

but just with the sleep botton.
fist use your adapter with other iphone/itouch ... is posible itś the problem
second .. let your phone charging
...normally if we conect our phone ... after some minuts it's put on.
after 2 hours ... trate to use it ... if after it your phone continue same... could be qaa electrical/physic problem
please if you have a guaranty use it.

My iPad only shows the Apple logo, sometimes with a frozen buffer logo as well. I CANNOT turn the machine on by getting past this logo.

My daughter Nano just shows the apple logo and that is it can'y do anything with it.

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for 10 to 15 seconds and see if it then reboots - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a computer reboot. If that doesn't work then you might better help in the iPod forum (this is the iPad forum)
