Itouch wont restore HELP PLEASE

i have a 2nd or 3rd generation itouch. when i unplug it from charging it doesnt work. and when it is pluged in the apple logo appears. i tried restoring it but i wont restore. all it says is "the ipod "******"could not be restored. an unknown error occered (1602). how can i fix this? PLEASE HELP ME

Here are some suggestions, copied from Update and restore error messages on iPhone and iPod touch
Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.
Error 1600, 1601, 1602
Follow the steps listed above for Error 1604. This error may also be resolved by disabling, deactivating, or uninstalling third-party security, antivirus, and firewall software. See steps in this article for details on troubleshooting security software.

Ipod touch scree frozen on zoomed mode despite restore - help please

my ipod touch screens have been frozen on zoomed mode . i did a restore thro itunes and even then it remains in a zoomed mode . screen is not responsive . any help please or is it a vist to the genius bar.

See this article about how to disable the Zoom feature. Keep in mind that the controls or actions to navigate with your iPod will be slightly different due to this feature being on, which would explain why you are getting no response when touching the screen.

Since you are using one of the the school's Macbooks, it is quite possible that the time and date are not properly set on the computer that you are using. FaceTime will not work if you do not have the proper time zone set up for the location that you are in. This past week, there were a two other Macbook users I've helped by simply telling them to set the Date/Time properly. By the way, you described your problem very well, which makes it easier for us to help you. Hope this solves your problem -- if not, post back and I can suggest other remedies.

Safari 2.0.4 with upgrade to 10.4.11 wont work, help, please

I am just beside myself. Safari wont work. I have broadband and all is well there, I've run disk warrior, all is well there. I've run disk first aid to check and verify disk. All well there. I upgraded to OS 10.4.11 from Upgrade on my g5, and safari wont load its face page; it just hangs pale blue highlight over half of this phrase "Go to this address."
I have tried everything I know. I am just so disappointed in apple. So not understanding what to do. I am not computer saavy and this is such a disaster; this is my computer for my work; I'm a work at home mom.
Please can anyone help me? I read people saying third party things, but I do not know what they mean or what those 3rd party things are by name.
I'm sorry to go and on, I am just so upset, and could kick myself for being so naive about thinking oh, a nice upgrade, no problem

Lost notes and calendar after restore - help, please!

My phone recently froze and I went to the apple store to have it fixed. They reset and restored it, telling me that I wouldn't lose an info as long as I had recently synched it. I came home, synched and now have lost my all my calendar items and my notes.
I was able to recover my contacts and songs, because of the little tabs at the top of the synch screen. However, I can't find how to recover the calendar and notes.
Can someone please help?

Notes are not recoverable unless iTunes has a backup file of a last Sync.
The problem is this file is over written with each sync so it could be outdated by now with current info your iPhone has.
As far as Calenders goes. As long as you are using one of the supported programs in the Link below, And it has your calender data in it. You can use the Tabs your talking about and Sync the info back.
Simply go to Info Tab, Then tell it Sync Calenders, And choose the program based on your PC/Mac and Sync.

IPod won't restore. help please?

I just reinstalled iTunes a week ago, because my iPod has the message "Connect to your computer. Use iTunes to restore." So I reinstalled it, and I plugged my iPod into the computer. iTunes pops up, I click the restore button, and it says it's restoring it. I leave it alone, and an hour later nothing on the computer screen says it's done, and my iPod still has that message when I (safely) unplug it from the computer. I have done this several times with the same results. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Please help!

Need to Restore - HELP Please

Yesterday my IPOD quit working and I got the sad icon with the ! I managed to get into the disk mode and hooked it up to my laptop and it synched. I used it today and it quit working after about 20 minutes. Will somebody please let me know what to expect when I try the next step of restoring it to factory settings? I understand that all songs will be erased from the IPOD. It has been 2 years since I loaded songs and I don't remember what I did when I first got my IPOD. I am a bit concerned since I don't know what to expect. I have a click wheel, 20BG IPOD. Thanks for any information.

Your phone has entered recovery mode. You will need to connect it to a computer with iTunes and restore it to factory settings. Hopefully you have a backup (either iTunes or iCloud) to restore from.

Restore help please

I have a PC. My hard drive would not boot. I installed a new boot drive and a factory clean install of Windows XP Pro. The old boot drive is now installed as a backup. I need to sync my iTouch but it's bascially a new computer. I have the old backup files on the old hard drive. How do I sync my iTouch to the new installation of iTunes and not lose all of my data. I understand the music is another issue, I still have it on yet another hard drive and will deal with that later. My main concerns are mail (contacts and calendar are VERY important), notes (which I will e mail as a back up plan), and any other data on the apps.

ok basicly you have to restore your iPod in itunes and put everything back on.
but theres another alternative, once you have gotten to your ipod touch on your pc then you might get a restore from back up

ITunes doesn't recognise iPod after restore: help please?

I've just restored, done the connect to power instead of pc (windows based), is reconnected to usb 2 port, but iTunes isn't showing any screen to resetup my iPod, and iPod saying "do not disconnect". What now? Could it be automatically updating without showing in iTunes? This all came about when I tried to do an update of software, which after download & updating pc, only showed "restore" in the iPod updater window.

Iphone Restore Help Please

I had to do a restore from backup on my iphone today because an app just totally messed up the phone. I restored from back up successfully i think all my info was back on the phone. The only problem is that now, since this is the first time that this has ever happened to me, when i try to sync it wont do anything. For example, i added new music to itunes, my settings are to sync automatically, but it wont do it, i manually have to take the song file and drag it to iphone icon on left hand side of itunes when the phone is connected for it to sync the song to the phone. I also now have to do this with ringtones that i make, and videos. When i go to the music section while iphone is connected and it says automatically sync selected songs, it did give me a message like if you check this, all your videos and songs will be deleteed.

yea it actually was checked and i have it so on the iphone display when it is connected i have it checked so that it also only syncs checked songs and videos. Then, i try to uncheck manage music manually, and it says that if i am sure if i want to do this or something and if i am, all my existing stuff will be erased and replaced by all the stuff i have on itunes. Also, when iphone is connected and i go to video tab, i try to select sync videos, and then it tells me that if i want to sync videos, all my music and videos will be replaced by stuff on my itunes. If i accept to this, will it be like a restore in which it deletes all music and videos and then adds it back on now with the setting of sync only checked songs and videos, or will it see that the music is already on the phone and just update the music and video settings?
