Its about 6h that osx mountain lion is downloading with out any progress.Can U tell me Y?What if i shot down or lose my connection?
Go to the Purchases Tab in App Store and make sure it is not Paused. If it is, click on Resume.

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive & clear caches.) -
Now that OSX Mountain Lion has been released, can I still buy OSX Lion to update my 2009 Mac?
I have a 2009 MacBook running OSX Snow Leopard with the latest update. I wanted to upgrade to the new Mountain Lion but I got the message that my system couldn't run it. So now I'm wondering if I can upgrade to the Lion 10.7 OS but I can't find it anywhere in the iTunes store or the Apple online store. Plenty of places to download the 10.7.x upgrades but not the OS. So, is it no longer available now that Mountain Lion has been released? Or do I have to visit a store to buy the disk?
You have to Call Apple, 1-800-My-Apple, and order it over the phone. Apple will then send you a email with a Code in it to download it from the MAS.

OSX Mountain Lion install / download issue. Help Please!
I have attempted to download OSX ML 3 times now, each time the download completes, install runs then after restart there is no change. ML hasn't been installed. Anyone had the same issue? Any fix?
The next time you download Mountain Lion, make a copy and move it out of your Applications folder. That will save downloading it again.
What version of the OS are you currently running? If it is 10.7 try the below:

If you look in your Applications Folder is the installer still there?
If you hold down the option/alt ket during a restart, do you see a recovery volume?
Are you getting any error messages?
Try booting into the Safe Mode to install it.
Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

Pretty much I am baffled, have OS X 10.6.8 and iMac 10.1 and internet running, plenty of available space, and 4gb ram but I cannot download Mountain lion successfully, everytime I go to download it the download stops at 142 mb, then spaz's out says its going to take 6, 8, 100, 1000 days to download then in red writing "an error has occured" shows up next to my download and I cant resume or anything.
Help me out as this is a problem on not 1 but all 4 of the iMacs at my work and I have been charged with getting them up to date for Logic X... Help an intern out haha

Are all of them connected to the same network? If not, contact with the App Store support > http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/contact
If they are connected to the same router, connect them to another network. Sometimes, some networks don't allow this type of downloads and they just stopped suddenly -

updates list, the question is if this is working or not.....Since you're having issues in multiple accounts I suggest you repair the HD and re-install the OS. ML makes the process pretty painless.
Boot up holding command-r keys into your Recovery Volume.
The screen should give you these choices...
Restore from TM backup
Reinstall Mac OS X
Get help online
Disk Utility
First choose DIsk Utility and run Repair Disk. If you find errors run it until all errors are fixed or it reports "Disk cannot be repaired".
Then, choose Reinstall OS X. This will be an install in place and won't affect any of your own data. -
TsMuxeR and Hybrid on OSX Mountain Lion
Does anyone know if tsMuxeR works on OSX Mountain Lion? Also, what about Hybrid and OSX Mountain Lion? Thanks.
As far as I know, no, it stoped working in Snow Leopard but I currently use it with WineBottler. Basically convert the tsMuxerGUI into a winebottler self contained app and then open it (right click) and put the tsMuxex.exe next to the tsMuxerGUI.exe and that is it, it works. Of course there is no drag-and-drop nor OSX integration but you dont need a virtual-machine nor bootcamp.
EDIT: You know I was wrong, the company stoped developping tsMuxer but they released the sourcode and there is a binary file arround.

I have a mac pro 1,1. I would like to know if its possible for me to upgrade the parts to where i can install osx mountain lion, or osx mavericks? I am currently adding more ram so it will have 32gb of ram, i have 2 250gb HDD but adding a 250gb SSD , and have a ATI Radeon HD 4870 512mb that i will most likely upgrade to an ATi Radeon HD 5570 1gb.
The SSD will boot fast, but the real change is launching 10 programs in 10 seconds and being able to use them. (20 seconds for a few big suites).
I would not add or upgrade to 32GB RAM. You can get 8 x 2GB for $100 on Amazon.
Those 250GB HDD are "old" and slow and overdue to be replaced, reformat and use t o backup the system.
Samsung 250GB SSD is down to $150 or so on Amazon also.
The 5770 is gone, hard to find, EOL and over charged for when you do find one.
you could look into how to use a PC 6870 or others.
Or, you could hold out and wait for a refresh of Mac-Mini which can be just as fast or faster and run Mavericks. -

After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Ever since i downloaded OSX Mountain Lion, Express VPN no longer works properly for me. Even though it says I am connected, webpages refuse to load. However, connection speed is fine when its turned off. I cannot go on many websites without the VPN. My current location is Shanghai, China. I am having the same issue listed above on my new Mac Mini i just bought, I also contacted Express VPN support and got the same instructions with exception of the command to run in the utilities terminal. I tried the steps listed, and both commands (posted here, and sent to me directly by Express VPN support), and still unable to connect on my Mac Mini running OS X 10.8.2, but I am able to connect on my iPad and my MacBook which is running Mac OS X 10.6.8. Usually Express VPN is spot on with their customer support, but this is taking longer to get resolved. Here is the steps sent to me

Try installing the Epson drivers from here:

and then seeing if adding and printing with USB works.

Where to download OSX Mountain Lion (now that Mavericks is out)?
I have a 2005 Macbook Pro Intel Core Duo running 10.7.5 and tried unsuccessfully to upgrade to Mavericks. Because the Macbook is too old, Mavericks is not supported on it.
So given that, I'd like to upgrade the Macbook to the last version of OSX Mountain Lion 10.8. But can't find it in the App store any more. Is there someplace to download and install this older version for older computers like mine?I called Apple Support Sales, 800-My-Apple, and their response was that while 10.9 Mavericks is free for download, those computers that cannot support 10.9, but are on 10.7.5 or earlier can PURCHASE 10.8 at $19.95.
I found this unfair, given that newer Macs can upgrade for free, but older ones have to pay to get an older version of the SW. It looks like either I come up with $19.95, get a new MacBook Pro, or just stay with 10.7.5.
