So i was using my Macbook tonight as usual, nothin out of the ordinary, msn working fine, safari working fine. Then out of the blue all of my Desktop icons dissapear apart from the hard-drive.
I don't know where they are, i can't find them which puts me in trouble as three years of work is on there that i need.

You might want to consider a backup of your important files so if they do dissapear your covered.

iTunes Match was not working after I upgraded to iOS 6. It was solved by connecting the iPhone to the computer, backing up the iPhone, and then doing a restore to factory settings. After that everything is working fine.

Its all gone! NO! (30 GB Video)

Oh my god this is so bad! I have the iPod update on manual, so everytime I hook it up (30 GB Video) to my laptop, my music doesnt get erased. But this time, it updated for some reason and everything and I mean EVERYTHING in my iPod got erased! And the wierd thing is that at first everything was there, I even added a new video. But then when I disconnected it and went threw it , everything was gone! But wierd thing is, in iTunes and in my iPod it says I have memory taken up (5.28 GB to be exact). This is weird..what is going on and what can I do? Please someone help me!!

ok now let me understand something. ur music on ur computer is not reased right? if it is not erased then u dont have problem. this could be as result of software failure,corrupted software files. or even ipod others.
anywey watever the problem, u have 2 make sure this is solved if it is software ,do the ipod 5R's. the ipod 5R 's are series of executable steps that will cure most ipod ailments. this can be found at apple.com on e left hand side. please follow the instructions and it might cure de issue.
1.reset ur ipod
2.retry new USB port.
3restart ur computer
4.reinstall all ur ipod and itunes software.
5.restore ur ipod.

Its all gone black

I was using my powerbook and desk top separately no problems. I left the powerbook open for about an hour maybe less. Then I noticed the screen had gone black I thought it had gone to sleep. Now nothing works, the power light is on but nothing works the screen is black. I have never had any previous problems with the Powerbook any help appreciated.

New Vision Order - Its All gone horribly wrong!

So I called BT to ask to upgrade to Unlimited Broadband, I have always been thinking about Vision so decided to ask.
The package that was offered seemes a good deal so I decided to take BT up on Vision as well as upgrading to Unlimited Broadband.
I received an activation date of 10th August, my box arrived the previous day. Knowing from when I had my Broadband connected it usually is not activated until about midnight that day, so I decided to wait until to day to set-up Vision.
After following the instructions I was unsuccesful in setting it up, so resorted in calling the helpdesk. I had to call 5 times, I was cut off 4 times!! Finally when I managed ot get a full conversation with someone I was advised that my Broadband Upgrade was delayed so therefore my Vision Activation was delayed.
The lady kindly called the Engineers to see why it was delayed, she informed me that they advised it is delayed as they cannot upgrade my Broadband to 20MB as the Exchange is not being upgraded until October!!
Firstly I did not ask to upgrade to 20MB I just wanted Broadband Unlimited, secondly how can they put an order in to upgrade my Broadband to 20MB when the Exchange is incapable, and thirdly when they realised it was delayed, why did they not inform me it was and the reason, instead of me having to call 5 times.
I now have to wait for them to place another order to fix the mess they created in the first place, I will be checking my Bill carefully when it comes ot ensure they have not started to charge me from the 10th!!
Well rant over, I hope its worth the wait, or the 10 Days cooling off period will be utilised

865PENEO2FISR2 – Suddenly its all gone very poorly

Much appreciate any advice here.
Built my PC up about a year ago and apart from minor BIOS teething on first boot-up it has been a dream; never a problem………..until now that is.
Out of the blue, post / boot failed and returned the dreaded BIOS not installed error. Said CMOS had wrong settings – cannot imagine why as I have not been there for a year ! Would not boot at all and kept asking for boot disk. Went into BIOS set-up and it all looked different; even clock / date had reset. Reset defaults and it now limps along – hangs for an age on logo screen + still reports errors errors but at least I can get it to boot. Have reset my SATA controller options as they were (ATA config:SATA only, SATA enabled:yes, PATA enabled: yes, PATA channel: both, RAID:no ............as it was before) but standard CMOS seems different. Think my HDD was previously IDE4 but now seems to be IDE0 plus I am getting an conflict error re IDE settings – how should I set the std CMOS.
Also when I look at select boot device my CD drive (IDE2) does not appear as an option – any ideas ?
This all seems very strange to me - any suggestions on what may have caused this after 12 months of stability ?

Best bet for good price is Ebay...........as some shops charge really silly money, as it is "a Computer Battery" I normally buy 5 for £4.00 including P&P........

Its all gone wrong since using OC ~Genie 2

So i installed command centre and enabled OC Genie , it OC me to 4.2Mhz from 3.8Mhz but it increased volts too much so i disabled it and went back to stock. all was fine or so i thought .
Now the CPU power phase LEDs at top of board right next to power off and Oc Genie buttons flashes - It used to stay a constant blue which looked awesome in the night .
I have seen in the command centre that i can turn it off completely but even when i do that , on the next reboot of my system it comes back on again .
Ideally i would like it to stay a constant blue like it used to be , but i will settle for it being off .
So can anyone help me ?

I lost my entire video. How can i retirieve it? i went back to my project library and it wasnot there anymore. I saved it in the media browser then when i restarted my computer its all gone. I tried dragging it in dropbox as well but cant find it anymore

The Apple TV 2 will play all the content in your iTunes library that your Apple TV 1 does. It can no longer sync any of it but can stream it all just as the older model did. Airplay is a different feature that lets you stream from an iPad/iPhone, the Apple TV 2 has Airplay the first didn't.
You can still sort and search content by genre, it still marks content watched and unwatched and mainly still lets you organise much as the Apple TV 1 did, with one exception. It doesn't do nested folders, so the ability to tag a movie as a show (ie James Bond) and have all the associated movies in a James bond folder has gone and it lists all these movies individually.
It has a similar situation with TV shows. It will put all TV shows in a series in a folder as the older one did, but the new one lists each series separately whereas the older model would put all the series in one folder.
Not nesting folders is a bit of a pain with large libraries and whilst I don't like it, it's more or less the only compromise I have to make and of course I get additional features too.

Given that you sound a nervous wreck and a neophyte in matters Mac, it would be safest that you put the Mac away, go take a chill pill, grab a bite, get some rest. Then take the Mac to its scheduled appointment with Destiny, er, the Apple Genius.
There's a good possibility of data loss and munging around unknowing, following instructions that will probably be hard to grasp will only increase the amount of damage.

MY BB Z10 was Unable to Boot after Many Attempts-soon after my files are all gone!!!

Greetings!
I'll always been a BB user since then, even if my Siblings are asking me why??(They are iPhone Users) Until last week, my BB Z10 wasn't be able to boot in its normal boot time. I tried and tried so many times, read the other helpful tips from the internet but i couldn't find the solution. I bought my Z10 only last March of 2013. I am not a hard user of my BB because my field of work are not allowed to used the phone while at work. We can but i choose not to, unless breaktime.
Let me get back again to the main issue, my sister let me used her iPhone for 5 days then today i decided to try again to reboot my mobile. I was so determined to do so. I follow the link below.

4. Why it happens to BB z10? I mean, why when you were restarting or rebooting it will take like 24 hours but still on its 99%, and freeze on that level? so we dont have choice but to press again the start button and start the process again.
Please I wish BB support group can help me on this, all those files are important to me, those captured moments that we cannot repeated again family videos and many more are all gone.... really it was the most saddest day of my life...
