ITS Based ESS in ERP2004

Hi, We are upgrading to ERP2004 from 45B version. Currently, we want to use only ITS Based ESS after the upgrade. I have the following queries on this -
1. Do we have to have a separate ITS sever even if WebAS 6.40 has internal ITS?
2. How IACs from current SAP systems be published after the upgrade.
3. DO we still need to download BP for 46C/470 even if we are not using EP currently?
Any information/document regarding ITS based ESS in ERP2004 will be greatly appreciated.

1)I hope you are using ECC 5.0 this has WEBAS 6.40, and there is one internal ITS attched which can be used to host ITS based services.

How to remove the "table control" icon in ITS based ESS screen

Hi All,
I have upgraded my external ITS 620 to patch level 28. Earlier we were on patch 04.
Since then I am seeing the table control in my ESS screens (ITS Based),
In some thread i got to know that the table control is totally redefined / modified from patch 22 of ITS.
Is it possible that we can remove / hide the table control from the screens.
I dont want to let the users access the "Table Settings" screen at all....can u plz tell me how to do it

we could not remove the table control...it seems like we can not remove it as the table control also appears in the r3 screens also..

Hi Santhosh,
which releases of SAP HR do you have ? There are important differences between SAP ERP and "older" releases according to your ESS-requirements.
You should consider using ready to run business packages for enterprise portals from SAP. The <a href="https://www2.iviewstudio.com/sdn/catalog/index.cfm?action=doc_links">Documentation</a> is quite good.

Is ITS 6.20 still required for using ESS in ERP2004?

Dear Team,
I am looking at the master guide for ERP 2004 and the following line disturbs me.
"SAP ITS 6.20 is necessary to run ITS-based ESS services. These services are not supported with SAP ITS 6.40."
So now you need 2 ITS's, one v6.20 for ESS and one v6.40 for all other apps. Tell me this isnt true.

With other words, SAP is moving to a WebDynpro based environment. You can compare the current WebDynpro applications (also in the link) with the ones you are using. If you are using an ESS component that is not available with WebDynpro, you should use the ITS version.
But then you need the latest Business Package for ESS (not MyERP2004). There should be listed which ITS version is required.

Differences between ITS based and web dynpro based ESS

Hi all,
What are the main differences between ( in functionality ) for ITS based and web dynpro based ESS.
I know a few
Underlying technology
ITS ESS had inbox concept, where as web dynpro based ESS/MSS has UWL concept for approvals.
The time statemment in ITS uses smart form while we can use Adobe document services for time statement in ESS 2004.
Funcitonality
There was not collective time approvals option In ITS ESS ( not even in ESS 2004 ) but ther is a collective time apporvals in ESS 2004s
Am not pretty mich intrested in look and feel, or the overview page concept but any additional functionality and a shift in the technology used.
Please add.

Hi Chakri,
Basically, the URL getting generated is not directing to Google server on internet. You need to check with Portal / basis team to look at the URL and find which server it is hitting to getting Google page.

ECATT for ITS based applications

Is eCATT recordings / testing possible for ITS based applications?. If yes, could you please list out the limitations also if possible.
I for sure know that eCATT does not support BSP applications but about ITS .... I m not sure
Hoping for some replies ....
Btw, are there any other tools out in the market that help in the testing of ITS based applications?

ESS + EhP5: Need to add an Button to an FPM_FORM_UIBB based ESS Szenario

Hello Community,
I have an requirement to add an 'Upload' Button to an EhP5 ESS Szenario (Address Change). Hence (almost) all ESS based on the FPM framework, difficulties to modify/enhance in a "free way". In my case the ESS was created by an Component Configuration (HRESS_CC_PER_DTL_ADDRESS_AT) of WD Component FPM_FORM_UIBB. There is no problem to add fields of the underlaying infotype(s) but anything else will not be accepted.
So are there any suggestion how I can insert an 'Upload' button into an ESS Scenarion that is based on FPM_FORM_UIBB?

Modify the Overview tab in WebDynpro Based ESS

Hi All,
The Overview tab of the ESS generally displays 8 Area Pages.Our requirement is we should show only two Area Pages.
What is the standard procedure proposed by SAP for achieving this?
To achieve this we have created a custom Area Page group in SAP, assigned Area Pages to this group.
After that we have copied the standard ESS role and Standard Overview Iview.We have modified the property "Application Parameter" of Overview iview.Then we assigned the Overview iview to the Copied ESS role.
Now we are successfully seeing only two Area pages in the Overview of tab of new ESS role.
But when we click the link Employee Search the control is going to the Emloyee Search tab of the Stanard role.
But we want the control to be in the new ESS role.
Any clue in this regard will be helpful.

to achieve the same i copied the "PCD Location" value in the "URL for PCD page" of the area. But it didn't move to the new role..
But unfortunately i made some changes..(exactly i didn't remember). These changes caused the problem.
Now two areas(employee search and benefit&payment) from "standard role" are not appearing in the portal as well as in my copied role. its giving the error stating that Area "EMPLOYEE_SEARCH" not found...

E-Recruiting and ESS for ERP2004

We are implementing ESS on EP 6.0 SP9 with ERP 2004. I am currently trying to get the 'Career and Job' workset to function, but am having difficulties.
Per the documentation in the MSS 60.1.2(page 16) business packages, I have defined a system definition in the system landscape called 'SAP_BSP_EREC' and pointed to our ERP2004 instance where HR and E-Recruiting is installed.
Right now I have two issues.
1. On the ERP2004 side, when I try to test any of the e-recruiting services from SICF, such as hrrcf_start_int, I get the following error:
Calling the BSP page was terminated due to an error.
The following error text was processed in the system:
BSP Exception: Das Objekt default.htm in der URL /sap/bc/bsp/sap/bsp_veri/default.htm?sap-client=800&sap-sessioncmd=open ist nicht gültig.

2. When I try to test any of the career and job iviews from the portal, such as 'Candidate profile' I get the following error:

Some what similar problem I also faced......
When I try to open any HRRCF(*) service on the I.E, it gives me the following error :-
This server does not support the HTTPS, thus it is potentially unsafe to send the password and then it give the same error message mentioned by Matt Schababerle.
The following error text was processed in the system:

Hi,
How do we edit the text appearing on the ESS tabs?
I know the Internet Service name and the screen number. But cant find where the text actually is typed in.
Please advice.

IF you know the service name and screen number then you should be able to see the screen . Since this is tabbed screen, the tabs will actually call other subscreens. You need to find the tab and then the subscreen and then edit that subscreen .

Accessing a CheckBoxTreeCell from its associated CheckBoxTreeItem

I am trying to figure out a way to modify the CheckBoxTreeCell when a user selects or deselects a given CheckBoxTreeItem.
Basically, I present the user with a tree list of values, some of which may be currently active (checked). I would like to change the text-fill style of the item to reflect that it is different from the baseline they started with, be it checked or unchecked. The user could then easily see what will change when they hit the Apply button.
I've tried overriding the updateItem(T, Boolean) method, but that is not called when they modify their selection.
Does anyone have any ideas?

There is no integrated ITS with WEBAS 6.20 its only available for WEBAS 6.40.

ESS with Internal ITS

We are using ESS 50.4 on ECC6 with internal ITS. It is working well except for a mouseover message when the user places the mouse over a pushbutton in the applications for Address, Personal Information, Bank Information, and Family/Related persons.
The mouseover message says 'Pushbutton deactivated' even though the pushbutton has not been deactivated.
Can this be fixed via the portal or through ICF or in SE80?

Those parameters look about right for the WEBGUI service, but not so much for the ESS services you mentioned.
I just had a look at one of the few remaining ITS based ESS services we still use (PZ03 Bank) and the parameters we have set in SE80 and SICF look like this:
~AUTOSCROLL      0

~LANGUAGE
~LISTSCROLLING      0
~LOGIN
~PASSWORD

The mouseover messages seem to work fine for us with those parameters, maybe try setting one of yours the same way and see if that helps.

ESS Screens in ITS

Hi,
I am trying to implement ESS for an already implemented system running on 4.7. When i installed ITS and now try to run ESS transactions, such as start menu, or who's who. Its doesnt appear properly. Screen is not in proper shape. Also when i enter ESS start transaction it says opening in new window but doesnt open.
Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks a lot for your help but unfortunately it did not fix the problem.
1) Initially there was not value for "11" version drop down so I created one in table T582ITVERS.
2) After this I created a entry in view V_T588MFPROPC as suggested by you ( with Unused as crossed).
My query: Do i need to create similar entry in V_T588MFPROPS table as well?
Please Note that I am working on ITS based ESS.

What is the diff between ITS ESS/MSS and Webdynpro ESS/MSS

Could anybody tell me the differences between ITS ESS/MSS and Webdynpro ESS/MSS?
Presently we have ITS based ESS/MSS in our landscape and customer wants to go for Webdynpro ESS/MSS. and Webdynpro ESS/MSS is already installed in the sandbox system where ITS based ESS/MSS is already there.
my doubt is can we install both ESS/MSS in the same server? if it is installed we may get any problems?
