Its been almost 2 Weeks...SLOW DL SPEED

My download speed has been really slow recently. my package is 20/5 and now im getting 0.4/2.6.
Whenever I called customer services, they asked me to do the same things. (reboot your modem, turn off your computer, go to speedguide.net, and optimize your setting and so on and on...)
Some of them admitted that they have a problem and others did not. I think that they have been received some complaints and they know about it but they couldnt pinpoint what exactly caused this.
I called them 4 times already, and they keep saying that i should wait and see.
Yesterday I researched some other FIOS forum, and I found In northeast area some people had been experienced the same sluggish download speed as I have.
These people said after verizon's ONT firmware update, they all having slow download speed. and they called technical support and tech guy sent some command and reboot thier ONT. and it was fixed.
So I called yesterday and explained the situation and asked for "hot fix". but she could nt understand the situation and kept saying wait and see.
she even said "hot fix is for Microsoft products."
humm... What shoud I do??

They mentioned that they had to implement a "hot fix". That almost sounds like a software patch, is that what that means or something else. If we gave you the group ticket number, could you look it up and see what they did?

update still No Luck...
I called FIOS services center and asked for hard reset on my ONT and they did...no improvement.
they keep saying no problem in thier network...hummm...
I tried 100 full duplex setting change as one guy suggested...no change...
During some research thru internet, One thing I found is that there are quite a number of people who have the same problem as I have.

'm having the same problem. I think mine started early last week also.
I'm getting extremely horrible download speed, from only about 100kbps to 700kbps, on sites like microsoft.com, adobe.com, nvidia.com, giganews.com, ftp.netscape.com, etc. But my upload speed doesn't seem to be affected at all as is shown on speedtest.net. The download speed is so bad that even regular web browsing is somewhat affected.
FIOS tech support said it could be a hardware problem somewhere in the Verizon network and they'll try to pin point it and call me back in 48 hours. I'll call them tomorrow night if I don't hear from them.
The reason for him to say that is because while most places I'm getting horrible download speed, speedtest.net does show that I'm getting full 20Mbps down and 20Mbps up on a few of the testing servers. And while I was going to Trendnet.com to download drivers for my wireless usb adapter, I found that on »downloads.trendnet.com/ I can download at full 2.2+Mbps like I use to be able to.
Hey njchoochoo, try downloading this file and see if you're getting full download speed like you had before.

Why? Because it is working the processors hard. Same as when you work or exercise, your body gets hot, so does the iPhone when it is working. Skype and many games will tax the processors more so than browsing the internet, sending texts or email. So, it gets hot. If it doesn't cool off fairly quickly after you quit Skype or playing your game, or it gets hot when doing less taxing activities, then you might want to have it checked out.

Well the term "hotlined" I have never heard before. In any case many states (like NY) just passed regulatory powers to the State Public Service Commission of which it may be called something different in your state. You could file a complaint with them. Or file a complaint with your state attorney generals office, they also take on wireless providers.
The problem here is the staff you speak to are poorly trained, in days gone by it took one call to them and they pulled up your account and see the error and had the authority to remove any errors. They did not remove legitimate account actions, but used their heads instead of putting a customer off or worse lying to the customer.
Its a shame you have to go through what you going through.

Been almost 2 weeks, Applecare still "in progress"

I purchased Applecare on the 15th of October to replace my almost gone warranty and all went well. I got my recipt, if you want to call it that, but my Applecare status is still "in progress"
How long should it take to complete? My warranty is gone now so I can't send Apple my iPod until my Applecare approves. I looked online and people would get approved almost immediately... how come mine is taking weeks? How long should I wait before I notify Apple about this?

I'd notify them right now, since your warranty has expired without AppleCare being activated. Call Apple tech support and ask to speak with someone in AppleCare adminstration. Be prepared to have to fax them your reciept showing your purchase of AppleCare.

It's been almost 2 weeks and I still didn't receive my package

Hi guys, I don't know how to ask for help because I have already sent an email to Best Buy and anyone aswered me. I made an order on December 15th for my xbox one and some games. Most of them arrived between 19th and 22th, however one game, Far cry 4, that was supposed to be delivered on 19th didn't arrive until today (January 2th).
I already checked in UPS website and they are sending my package to everywhere except to my address. It is even in my County, but they don't delivery it and now it on hold:
"The receiver has requested that we hold this package for a future delivery date / Delivery will be rescheduled."
I understand that the post office won't receive it now because it's new years, but I must say that I am really sad with this buying. Now I don't know when the post office will come back to work and I have no guarantee that they will delivery it in time. Besides, I have moved to other place after 19th, so I have to go all my way back just to get this package that god knows when it will arrive. I trusted on the delivery day and now I will just have more work to do.
I really need help with this. I just want this game!

How would i reset my iPod without turning off my iCloud and "find my iPod" its been almost a year and i can't do anything about it neither can Apple and i have called them many times... should i just not use it ever?

my iPod says that i need the iCloud password and i already had put it in and it is saying it is wrong... so I'm trying to totally reset my iPod touch but i have to turn off the "find my ipod" and i have to sign into my iCloud so i was wondering how to reset it... Is it possible or should I just throw it away?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

I can't open my iPod touch 4th gen!!! It's been almost a week.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Well its been about 7 weeks - Any news on a 8800Gt for 1st gen Mac Pro's ?

It was January when the masses were pacified with the announcement of a 8800gt card for us old timers - you know those super out of date , non-upgradeable video 1st mac pro's .....
Why are we being ' dead ended ' like this on video ? The 7300 and 1900 are not at all ' modern ' video cards - why are we being treated like this ? Did we do something wrong ? Did not enough people buy the first gen mac pro ? I the first gen mac pro so under engineered it cant handle the 8800gt or ati2600 ? (2600 is not officially supported by Apple for older mac pro's) ....
Why did my Mac Pro have slots ? Next time just solder the video on ... because thats what I feel like you did to me Apple...... Thanks alot....

When I look at the code below I notice that there is no guid line for the podcast but it has a link line.
Has the guid line been removed?

Slow internet speed - terrible service

For the last 5 weeks I have been plagued with very slow internet speed. I have spent at least 4 hours on the phone with verizon techs. They always say that they will call back and never do. This is absolutely the worst service imaginable.

Step one: Visit http://www.giganews.com/line_info.html and post up the Traceroute the page shows, if you wish. Be aware that your non-bogan public IP Address will show up. It might shown up as the final hop (bottom-most line of the trace) might contain a hop with your IP address in it. Either remove that line or show only the first two octets. What I'm looking for is a line that mentions "ERX" in it's name towards the end. If for some reason the trace does not complete (two lines full of Stars), keep the trace route intact.
