ITS Content Cannot Sync Because Apple TV could not contact the iTune Store

No wonder it's still a hobby. Once again, I woke up to discover that all my synced iTS content had simply disappeared from my Apple TVs [third time this has happened with over 100gb of content), and neither one of them was appearing in my iTunes "control" Mac mini. Both of them. Photos and non-iTS music were still there, that is, until I had to disconnect/reconnect to my mini, in which case I had to start from scratch. Upon rebooting the ATVs, the rental video content was available, but when I tried to re-sync my purchased content libraries, I get this message: "Some of the items were not copied to the Apple TV because the Apple TV could not contact the iTunes store to authorize." Checked my account. It's fine. Actually then tested a rental and a purchase from the Apple TV, and that worked fine, so obviously my network can access the iTS and so can the ATV. But when I try to sync, ATV claims it cannot access the iTS. This is happening on both. So, I quit iTunes and remove the iTunes plist files and start over. Same story!

So, after searching more here, I decided to try an authorize/deauthorize/authorize set of steps; the computer itself was already properly authorized, but what the heck. Presto.

  • "Could not complete the iTunes store request..."

I'm having the same TYPE of issues everyone else seems to be having, but with this message:
"Could not complete the iTunes store request. The store may be busy. Check your internet connection or try again later"
    and it ONLY occurs at:
    1) iTunes HOME page
    2) Browsing Music Videos
all other iTunes pages work. What is going on? I thought Apple beat Microsoft when it came to usability, but this really stinks! I've run diagnostics and iTunes has NO problem seeing that I have a working internet connection!
Anyone else have this exact problem and have suggestions?

I am getting this excact same error message, except for me no page will load except for the Account Settings page. I've tried nearly everything short of reformatting, I have the latest version of iTunes, I used the Repair Disk Permissions tool, verified my KeyChain, checked my firewalls.
However, I have found a detour around this problem. If you use the Browse feature (the little eye icon next to the Eject botton) when the iTunes tab is open, you can find artists, however, the Popularity ratings don't seem to work

  • Unable to activate :: Could not complete the iTunes Store Request?

Just got my iPhone and i can't activate it.
The error in iTunes is "Could not complete the iTunes Store request. The store may be busy".
It's been like this for an hour. Is the store down or are there firewall ports i need to open?
edit: I was able to download the iPhone firmware upgrade, but still unable to activate.

Figured it out. You have to turn off any Webservers on port 80 and restart iTunes. Then it will work.

  • Could not complete the itunes store request. the store may be busy check ..

I am trying to activate an Iphone (UK) and get the message:-
could not complete the itunes store request. the store may be busy check your internet connection.
No matter what I do, turn the firewall off, allow cookies...
Can anyone help?????????????? I've being trying for hours

Are you using a USB hub? If so, try connecting directly to the USB port. This may help. Also, make sure you've got a USB 2.0 and not 1.1. If none of this helps, try reinstalling iTunes.
    Hope this helps.

  • Why can i see an album (punk o rama 10) on the apple website but not in the itunes store

the title pretty much sums it up, added note: when i go to press view in store it tells me to download itunes which i have.

The issue is that your credit or debit card credentials must be associated with the same country where you reside in order to purchase iTunes content.
"Although you can browse the iTunes Store in any country without being signed in, you can only purchase content from the iTunes Store for your own country. This is enforced via the billing address associated with your credit card or other payment method that you use with the iTunes Store, rather than your actual geographic location. You can use the iTunes Store in all countries of which you’re a resident, but you’ll either need a separate iTunes Store account for each one, or you’ll need to continually be switching the billing information on your single account. Generally, it’s simpler just to set up an alternative account for these situations, although it’s worth nothing that features like iTunes in the CLoud and iTunes Match are designed to work best when using a single iTunes Store account, as you can only switch accounts with these services every 90 days."

  • Could not complete the iTunes Store Request (for iTunes Plus)

Since the announcement yesterday of the expanded iTunes plus library and the price reduction, I'm finding that if I click on iTunes Plus I always get the 'could not complete' message. Plus, many iTunes plus songs are still showing at 99p, only a few I've found are 79p.
I'm really surprised nobody else has reported this - is it just me?

No it's not just you, I haven't been able to access iTunes Plus either.
I assumed they were busy upgrading that section of the store but it's taking its time and if that was the case then there ought to be a more informative error message.

You might want to do a search for "Grey's Anatomy Season 3", and then buy the episodes from the search menu.

  • (!) Could not complete the iTunes Store request. The story may be busy.

on the opening page in iTunes for activating the iPhone, this is the error I get on pressing the first "Continue" button. I have verified I have an Internet connection and I can get on the iTunes music store. Is it Apple or me?

Had the exact same problem. There is another button you can push besides continue, I believe it was info or something like that. That screen kept saying that my Activation Session had timed out. Apples solution said it was a Date/Time issue and time zone issue on my PC. Even though that information was correct in windows, I went in and changed the date/time and time zone to something completely wrong and saved it. Then went back in and changed it back to the correct information and saved it. then I launched Itunes and everything worked fine after that. Activated in like 2 minutes.

  • Could not complete the iTunes Store request. The store may be too busy.. What?

After I updated iTunes I always get this message. I can't change country stores and I can't access my account. I can still buy music thankfully but can't report any songs or albums if it has problems.

  • When I try to open genius I get the message"could not complete the itunes store request. The store may be busy."

I've tried to open genius numerous times and I get the same error message. I llike to make playlists with songs from my library. What is the solution so I can use genius?

This is what I did to resolve this problem. First, I uninstalled Firefox 4 & removed the Firefox folder left behind. I made sure to NOT select the option to delete personal information. Next, I backed up all of the important files on my computer. Next, I upgraded my Windows 7 to Service Pack 1, which was pending in my updates folder. Then, I went to Mozilla's website & downloaded Firefox 4 again, making sure to select only the Firefox browser and not Thunderbird too. http://www.mozilla.org/ When prompted to close any open programs, I closed Internet Explorer (which I had used to get to the Mozilla website) and I disabled my Norton anti-virus. I then completed the installation & it works just fine now. It loaded all of my personal data, such as bookmarks, it remembered my password, etc. It's fine for my needs, as I'm not a heavy user of special add-ons & plug-ins. Some of those may not work yet with the new version.
