Its impossible to redeem my gift card. Is it commun problems like that? Maybe with the pin, or the card number?

I bought a gift card and im not sure why but its impossible to redeem. Maybe the nunber of the card is the problem or the pin.....
Is that commum? How can I solve this problem?

as far as I know iTunes gift cards are good for the App store or iTunes.
It could be operator error, typoing a number. It's also possible, for example, if you bought the card just a little bit ago it's possible that they just don't know it was sold yet.

What exactly do you see when trying to buy a song, what messages appear ? You can't change how items are billed, it's automatic, as long as you are buying for yourself then your account's balance should be used for the purchase, it's only if gifting (which can only be done via a credit card) or if your balance doesn't cover the entire purchase price that credit card details should be asked for - or if it's a new account and you didn't follow particular steps when creating the account. (A gift card can only be redeemed once, you can't re-enter its code.)

There isn't a phone number for iTunes Support.
If you've forgotten your answers to your security questions then you can get them reset : If you forgot the answers to your Apple ID security questions
If you have a credit card on your account then its details have to complete - and asking for their details is also a way of checking that you have a valid billing address in that country. As long as you are buying content for yourself and not trying to gift content (you can't use your balance for gifting) then the purchase price (plus any applicable taxes) should be deducted from your balance. Cannot redeem itunes gift card receive cannot complete your request unknown error -1202

After numerous attempts I still cannot redeem ITunes gift cards to the ITunes store so I can download content onto my PC
It is running Windows Vista.
I receive "We could not complete your ITunes store request. An unknown error occurred. (-1202) Please try again later."
I have gone to my controll panel and made sure the date and time is correct. They are correct.
I have unchecked the advanced internet properties setting "Enable Integrated Windows Authentication."
I have restarted.
Still cannot redeem ITunes gift cards at the ITunes store.
What can I do to redeem these cards ???????????????????

I'm having the same problem, Jay. Its been like that for asong as I can remember (at least a month). I've not been particularly bothered, but I've got a voucher too and its rather annoying. Doesnt appear to be everyone, just a select minority of users. If anyone does have an answer it would be greatly appreciated. Thanking you!

Is the store that you bought it from closely so that you could try asking them to activate the cloud properly ? You need to set up an Apple ID for use with the iTunes Store before you can redeem anything in the iTunes Store. You don’t need to enter credit card information to redeem only the amount of a gift certificate or card.

If you go beyond the credit from a gift card the balance will be billed to your credit card account.

I redeemed my gift card on one computer, but when I try to by music on my other computer, it asks for my credit card information. So I am guessing I need to some how transfer the balance on the card to the other computer? I assumed it would be there on both since it is the same account on both?

A couple of questions for you...
Did you get an email confirming the card had been successfully redeemed? Is it possible you've changed iTunes store since you redeemed the gift card? The gift card can only be used within the iTunes store it was purchased / redeemed. If you're still in the same store, then try logging out of your iTunes account and logging back in. That should reset the balance.
The balance should be visible when you're browsing within the store (on the bar towards the top of the screen on the right hand side - next to the ID you've logged in to the store with.
If you're still not happy with the results, the iTunes Store Billing support staff will be able to give you a definitive answer on your account balance. I don't know where you are, so here are links to the US and UK support pages:

I thought So too but then I went to Itunes Library and try and buy a single song from an album for $1.29. Now my Itunes Gift card balance is $ 7.10 as I mentioned earlier. it still did not let me buy and kept trying billing my Visa card.
Should I restart my PC and Itunes and retry. What do you suggest?

I have now marked this as NONE expecting this resolve the situation, however now when she tries to buy music or apps it won't let her. Is that Interface dragged to the top of Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations and checked ON?
The Interface that connects to the Internet, needs to be drug to the top of System Preferences>Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations and checked ON.
If using Wifi/Airport...
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.

It's been a while but it should work on a Mac because Macs can read Windows formatted devices. Otherwise, you can perform a restore operation to return it to the Mac format. If you go to support.apple.com/manuals/ you can find a copy of the user manual for the model you have in which this is all explained.
