ITS Instances

How can I install 3 ITS instances on my machine (2 connection instance tomy SAP systems and 1 admin instance).
Cuureently I am installing a connection instance and it works. When I try another instance it does not work. I am installing the second by re-runing the installation from cd.
Can somebody take me on a guided tour here

1. Choose Start->Programs->Administrative Tools->Computer
Management.
2. Choose Services and Applications.
3. Choose Services.
4. Find the Web server in the list of Services and check
that the values in the Status and Startup Type columns are
set to Started and Automatic.
On the Web host, check that the WGate component is present
you are using the Microsoft Internet
Information Server (IIS), you can find WGate.dll in
<ITS_InstDir>\programs.
On the host, check that the ITS Manager is started
and that startup is set to automatic.
Windows 2000/2003 Server

How do I edit optimised artwork in Illustrator so that the changes apply to all its instances?

I am working on a layout in Flash Catalyst CS5 that I exported from Illustrator that is made of many instances of various optimised graphics. I now changed my mind about one of my optimised graphics and would like to make a change to it in Illustrator however I need to break it apart first in order to do so. I am stuck because I would like those changes I made in Illustrator to apply to all the instances of that optimised graphic however when I optimise the artwork back to a vector graphic, its a different symbol and therefore is no longer related to those instances. Therefore, how can I edit optimised artwork so that the changes will always apply to its instances?

When you have placed your Spry menu in a Template, you must set the links in the Template and preserve the menu in an ineditable region by not making an editable region surrounding it. Don't forget to make editable regions in the rest of your page, so you can put content on the pages!
When you save a page as a Template, the Template is placed in a Templates folder, and DW keeps track of maintaining the accuracy of the links. You do not have to change the links in the Template for the child pages, DW does that for you.
When you are using a Template to create child pages, you do File > New Document > Page from Template, choose the template, check the box labeled "Update page when template changes" and press "Create".
Save the page in the appropriate place in your site files, and you should be good to go.
You can use a Template for many many pages...there is no limit, as far as I know.

How can I remove a ITS instance?
I have many instance installed, but one is not working (bad installation) and I need to reinstall it.

If you execute again the installation with the cd on the its server, the system detect that exists instances and it ask you if you want to add a new instance, if you want update an instance or if you want to delete an instances.

Problem with a new ITS instance

Hi All
I just install a new ITS instance in a windows box that already had one ITS running, The first ITS is running on port 80 and it work perfectly but the new instance i just install running on port 83 instead of showing me the ITS logon page it ask me if i want to download the pzm3! file when calling http://<server>:83/scripts/wgate/pzm3!
IACOR is configured, ITS published, etc...
Im using ITS 6.20, IIS and windows 2003...
Any ideas???

The problem is solved now, on the properties of the Virtual Directory Scrpts & executables has to be enabled.

Using as ITS instance with multiple SAP systems

Hello,
Despite the recommendation of note 731679, I´m looking for some documentation or tips related to an ITS configuration to support two different SAP systems.
The note refers to "setting the relevant parameters in the service files or by using URL parameters" but I didn´t found a clear recipe.
Did someone there implement this scenario?

This works fine for a single host system (development) but when I try with a dual-host my new instance u201CBu201D reads the service files of instance u201CAu201D when I try to start an IAC. I gone through all the xml config files and canu2019t find anything wrong. I have instance B configured to use different ports then A. Separate IIS sites for each instance running on WIN2003.
How do the wGate know the correct Agate process to connect to?

Any way to for a class instance to ask what its instance name is?

Hey. I have a class which needs to create a movie clip on the
stage. Since each instance of the class will only ever have 1 movie
clip on the stage at a time, it seems reasonable that I have the
instance create a movie clip with its own name, prefixed with "mc_"
or something of the sort.
Here's where I don't know quite what to do... How do I get at
this information? For instance, when you a dealing with an XMLNode,
you can simply use...
the_answer = xmlNodeInstance.nodeName;
...I know the analogy fails, but hopefully you know what I'm
looking for.

and when you create your movie clip, (assuming you don't just
build it at authoring time) you specify an instance id through the
createEmptyMovieClip function....
taking a cue from this, I'm guessing that my answer is to
change the structure of what I'm doing a little... instantiate my
object with an instance name as a parameter given to the Class
Constructor... that way the class can have it's own name on file.
I guess my only concern there is how do I keep the "name"
variable from being just completely arbitrary...?
I guess I'm getting away from application (becaust I don't
know when I'd do this...) and into theory.... but for instance,
let's say I create my class like this:

So. I have my class instance... ideally, the class would
exist on the stage as "instanceName", with "instanceReference"
being another way to reference the instance. That would be ideal...

"instanceReference", and I've just passed it a fun, but meaningless
bit of data called "instanceName"...
I suppose I could have the class go back to "_parent" and
create it's own object.... but here again I'm getting into

Getting an error while uninstalling an application if its instances are open.

We are creating a setup project for our application using .vdproj. The creation of installer is successfully done but while unistalling/installing we are facing an issue. The issue is we have the application open and we are working on the application, while
working we go and uninstall the app from Control panel the application gets uninstalled while it's instance is already open.
Can someone please help with the issue or do we have any property we could set using orca to stop this?

Naming of an ITS instance for loadbalacing

If you have 2 physical hosts (A and B)
Host A has one agate instance with multiple processes
Host B has one agate instance with multiple processes
In order to achieve load balancing would you have to name them with the same (virtual instance name ) During installation?

Hello Jeremy,
no, for loadbalancing you have to use the "wgate-config".
install a dual host agate on machine A
install a dual host agate on machine B
install a dual host wgate on say machine C (or the wgate is piggybagged on one of the agate hosts, then you have to install a single host instance on A or B)
After that you check the logical portnames for both agates (sapavw00_... and sapavwmm_...) in "services" on the according agate machines.
Then you configure the wgate (it already should have one instance with one agate from the installation) and put an extra agate (the one that is not added by install) in the instance. Use the hostname and portnumbers you found, set the agate to multiprocess and activate (i.e. save and internal restart)
That should do it.
Please switch of the "ConfigMonitorEnabled" afterwards and make a clean webserver restart (by hand)

Reference a movieclip by a variable containing its instance name?

There are some movie clip instances on the stage (not
dynamically created at run time). Now, I want to do this:
use a variable to hold a instance name at runtime. then use
this variable to reference the movie clip it points to.
Problem: suppose this variable is named "mc_ref". it fails to
use "_root.mc_ref" to refer to the movie clip by the name that
mc_ref contains. it seems in this case flash takes "mc_ref" as
instance name and thus looks for any child by that name. since
mc_ref itself is not a name, this will not work.
is there something like MovieClipbyInstanceName function for

should not be the same.

Why are you extending JTree? I'd bet you shouldn't be.Why not ? ....
Why SUN develop the 'extends' functionality ? You should use extends if you're changing the behavior of an existing class. An example of this is extending JPanel and overriding the paintComponent() method to do some custom painting.
You should not use extends if you just need an instance of an existing class. An example of this is extending JFrame instead of simply creating a JFrame instance.
Without seeing your code, I can't be sure you're misusing extends. But many people do.
Here's an example.
Bad:

Is it possible to create a custom control class and insert its instance in a form?

I have several controls that will work togheter and in a similar way in several forms.
For example, a GroupOption with two ButtonOptions. Clicking on one button option the frame willl became higher and a TextBox will appear; clicking on the other the TextBox will disappear and the frame will shrink again.
I need them in different size or few other propieties but the basic funcionality are the same.
I was thinking to create a Class with all the built in Controls and the relevant methods and propieties to keep my code clearer, simpler and reusable.
But I don't know if my idea viable.
After creating a simpler version of the class; I was trying to put it at work in a test form but I could not find the way to insert it.
I've only find a Application.CreateControl with a required parameter
ControlType which ranges only over built in controls not custom one.
I'm working in VBA with Access 2007 and later.

That is not really practical with Access. For example CreateControl does not work with compiled applications, which is how you should deploy them. Also the level of modularization you desire just is not available. Maybe a subform would come close to this,
but I would HATE to work on one of your apps if you build each form with a collection of subforms.
While you can and should re-use code using modules or class modules, not so much for UI elements. More advanced development environments like WPF can do this.

Instantiate an instance inside its class

I always read codes like following:
Class A {
A a = new A( );
Could anybody tell me why a class is able to instantiate its instance inside itself.
Another example:
Class A {
B b = new B( );
Class B{
A a = new A( )
When Class A is running, it calls Class B, but when Class B is instantiated
, it needs to call Class A. I am always puzzled about this kind of codes.

In Java, the Class Objects are loaded as soon as you go into runtime. The VM recognizes all necessary classes, and creates one single instance of them. So, static attributes are indeed a singleton pattern on class level...
A class even has an own constructor. This constructor looks like this:
class ClassA{
      // Insert Class Constructor input here
}All static attributes are implicitly constructed in this class constructor.
However, what you have written, is just a simple Form of:
class ClassA{
   ClassA a;
   public ClassA(){
     a = new ClassA();
}This is indeed a neverending loop, so this doesn't make sense. But it isn't unusual to hold a reference to another object of the same type.

How to point an EP ITS link to another R/3 instance

I will explain what my issue is....
I have installed an EP 6.0 on 2 new servers that will be clustered. As the old EP server also had the ITS installed, I also created ITS instance on both new hosts.
This installation works as a test for a definitive window. So the users want to test the Portal I have just installed pointing to QA, rather than PRD.
When in Production, I acess the Portal , and click on DMS button, I receive the ITS screen to access the R/3 - PRD.
As I am in a test environment, I have already installed ITS (ADM and QA instances), and I am able to acess ITS page with R/3-QA login page. But, if access the Portal, and click on DMS button, I am still being brought to R/3 - PRD page.
What can I do to force the DMS link to send me to R/3-QA login page, rather than R/3-PRD login page ?
Where can I define the correct address ?
Is I click on the login page with right mouse button I can see the URL is http://FGMaq72:82 , but the link I wanto to go should be http://FGMaq72CLS:82
I already published everything from R/3 QA - R3_PUBISH_SERVICES to ITS server.

First some information about parameter transfer with ITS in general.
http://server:port/scripts/wgate/<service name>/!?transaction=<transaction_name>&<inputfieldname1>=<value1>&<inputfieldname2>=<value2>&okcode=<okcode>
The parameters can als be transferred as POST parameters. For this you need a form e.g.
<form name="<form name>" method="post" action="`wgateURL() ...
You might get some ideas by studying the login.html in the templast folder system of your ITS instance.

SSO EP 6.0 and ITS

Hello,
I try to establish a single sign on connection from our portal to an its instance.
The portal version is 6.0 SP2 PL31
The ITS is 6.20 PL 17
My problem is that when I call a certain transaction via the ITS URL I always get the logon screen...
When I call a transaction by using the sap transaction starter I am immediately connected without login, but the transaction starter is using the sap gui...
I set the parameter ~mysapcomusesso2cookie 1 in the global.srvc; when I trace my html stream I can see that the SAP Logon Ticket arrives at the ITS, but I always get the logon screen.
I searched the forums for similar problems, but could not find a solution...

For what it's worth, I was about to post the very same problem! The problem also occurs with ITS PL16. We had this functionality working last year with EP6 SP2 P4 HF6 and ITS 620 PL7 - obviously something has changed in the patches from then until now.
I have found that using an IAC iView works OK, but trying to use a URL-based iView does not (both portal and ITS server are in the same DNS domain, all the usual stuff). We have to use a URL-based iView because our IAC will not run in an iFRAME as the portal launcher insists on doing.
