Hello bigjohnjed,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with iTunes.  I suggest removing iTunes and all related components and reinstalling iTunes for the issue you described.  The following article has steps to do this (it is important to remove all components in the order listed):

  • Itunes 10.5 update will not save or update!

    Need help!
My itunes 10.5 update will not save, and i need itunes 10.5 to update my phone HELP!

Same here - I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 and have had the same problem since just before upgrading to 10.5 (64-bit) and now after too.  Same issue occured a couple months ago (I *think* last when iTunes updated), when I was directed by Apple support to close iTunes, clear all Apple process in Task Manager and try again which fixed everything (also tried suggested fixes of moving old backups, deleting the backup folder, etc).
Seems like syncing\backups are breaking with every iTunes version upgrade (and only 64-bit Windows systems?)
This is very frustrating to be left hanging right when big updates are available.

  • ITunes 10.5 update will not download

iTunes 10.5 update will not download, it reaches verification stage and then comes up with the error message
' "iTunes" has an invalid signature. The download has been removed'.
    How do I fix this?

hey albroner, got the same problem. I am also on Windows XP... tested many things already, read on my thread in the link up
seems the 10.5 iTunes versions are corrupted on Windows XP.
    best regards

  • I get code MSVCR80.dl, after I did the last update for Itunes and now it will not reinstall!!!

I get the error code MSVCR80.dl  after I treid to update my itunes account. Now my computer will not re-install itunes at all. I have uninstalled all of itunes and have nothing now and I don't understand why I can't reload it!

    Try the following user tip:
Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates

  • Itunes corrupted after update. asking to reinstall itunes

After I updated my itunes i clicked to open it an this message appears.
This copy of itunes is corrupted or not installed correctly. Please reinstall itunes.
My mac is. Mac book pro 5, mac os x version 10.6.8
    Please help!!

    Just had this problem myself.
    Here's the fix.
1: Restart your computer and hold Command + R
This will take you to a screen with roughly 4 options. Choose Disk Utility.
    2. Using the "first aid" option, choose the hard drive and then hit repair disk (on mine, there was a hard drive, and a subquent one underneath, I repaired both).
    3. NOTE! The first time I did this, it failed and said something along the lines of "reinstall your OS, etc....". I just restarted my computer and repeated steps 1-2.
    4. Upon doing this a second time, the disk was repaired, I restarted again to get to my home screen, Wait ~40 minutes for spotlight to finish indexing, your computer will run slow until spotlight finished indexing so just let it do its thing.
    5. Uninstall Itunes by dragging to trash bin and erasing.
    6. Reinstall Itunes from the itunes website, for me, all my music was saved and I did no special steps, so I imagine it will be the same for you.
    Hopefully this works for you!

I'm experiencing the exact same problem on a 2008 R2 server we have overseas.  I've reinstalled the WUA, uninstalled all updates that occurred in the last successful update push, uninstalled the antivirus, scanned for viruses, deleted the SWD folder,
    uninstalled WSUS.
I've tried so many things from so many sites that I don't know what I've done and haven't.  The funny thing is I can go into the registry and point it to get updates from our WSUS server onsite and it works, it just won't get them from Microsoft.  Below
    is an unsuccessful attempt...

  • ITunes error after update

After a recent update to iTunes on my HPNetbook computer I began receiving the following message
"AppleSyncNotifier.exe - Entry Point Not Found
"the procedure entry point sqlite3_wal_checkpoint could not be located in the dynamic link library SQLite3.dll."
I simply click on OK and it goes away but it is annoying and I assume it does affect my ability to Sync.
I have an HP Mini 1103 with 2GB memory.

This seems to happen each time iTunes gets updated...that is, the file in the proper destination folder gets erased somehow and the next time I start my computer I get the same error message.
I wrote a quick batch file:
    @echo off
@echo This batch file should be run as Administrator to prevent "Access Denied"
    @echo .
@echo Copying SQLite3.dll from "Apple Application Support" to "Mobile Device Support"
    Copy "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\SQLite3.dll" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\SQLite3.dll"
    @echo .
    Pause
Create a new file with Notepad, copy and paste the above batch commands, then save it. (I named mine
Fix AppleSyncNotifier Error.bat).  Save it to a location where you can later find it.
To fix the problem in the future, find the batch file you created, right click on it and choose Run as Administrator.  The batch file will copy the SQLite3.dll file over to the correct folder.

I just updated my iTunes to version 7.1.1 and now it just doesn't start anymore. It gives the error: "iTunes has found problems in your audioconfiguration and can not be started". I never had probems with the previous version and did not change anything else.
Well... there's nothing wrong with my audioconfig, everything works fine except for iTunes.
Anyone else with this problem, and hopefully a solution???

that one is typically caused by a problem with your QuickTime. (itunes uses QuickTime for audio and video playback.)

  • Itunes Error After Updating Ipod

I'm having trouble with Itunes - after it updates the Ipod it gives a fatal error ("can't read memory"). If I click "OK" Itunes closes. It does appear to be updating the Ipod.
Here's the basics of what I have:
-ipod model MA146LL (5th gen video)
    -Windows
    -Version 1.2.1 (on ipod)
    Itunes
    -7.0.2.16
Here's the thing that caused the problem:
-Plugged in ipod to computer via usb
    -It auto-launched itunes
-told me an upgrade was available for my ipod - do i want to install 1.2.1 I said yes.
-Updated the ipod with new firmware, and get error message in itunes
Here's the things I've tried to fix it:
-checked ipod and it had 1.2.1 as version
-unplugged ipod from computer, reconnected, it launched itunes, updated ipod and gave error message
    -rebooted computer - same error
-did regsvr32 on file in program files\itunes (something I found while searching discussion groups) - same error
-reset ipod and tried again - same error
-repaired itunes (via add/remove programs) and rebooted - same error
-validated that it actually is updating the ipod (is, removed a few songs and it did)
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Nope, no plug-ins.
I figured it out - here's the story:
I realized that although I got a fatal message, iTunes was still there, and as long as I didn't hit the OK on the message, I could still work in iTunes (I realized this could have screwed things up worse...but...). I Restored the Ipod. Got the same error. Even rebooted the machine and reset the ipod again. Same error.
Then I figured, forget it, I'll just use it with the error message. But, now that I restored my ipod I noticed the Contacts were blank (I'm synching with MS Outlook Contacts). I tried updating the ipod again, couldn't get the contacts. Then I remembered that since getting this new machine my contacts have been screwy in Outlook (click To: to get address list and it can't find it). I fixed that (removed the Outlook address book service and re-added). Went back to itunes to sync and it synched the contacts just fine.
And ... it no longer gives me the error message. So, the error with MS Outlook contacts is what the problem was all along. I'm thinkin.
Thanks for your time and quick reply....

    Hey petanque1,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues installing iTunes for Windows. The following article outlines the error message you are receiving and a potential resolution:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
Some Windows customers may experience installation issues while trying to install or open iTunes 11.1.4.
    Symptoms may include:
"The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer"
"iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows Error 126)”
"Runtime Error: R6034 - An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly"
"Entry point not found: videoTracks@QTMovie@@QBE?AV?$Vector@V?$RefPtr@VQTTrack@@@***@@$0A@VCrashOnOverf low@@***@@XZ could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\WebKit.dll”
    Resolution
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
    Check for .dll files
    1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
    2. If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.

Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.

    3. Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • I have lost my itunes library after updating it and keep getting a message saying MSVCR80.dll is not installed when I try to uninstall/reinstall it???

I have lost my itunes library after updating it. Have tried uninstalling/reinstalling it and it gets so far then tells me that it cannot be installed because MSVCR80.dll is not installed on my pc. I have no idea what this is and have googled it, followed links to sites that say they can fix it, only for them to scan, tell me I have 3 thousand issues and then want me to pay $30 dollars to fix it for me. This message also appears on firing up my pc too.
    Can anyone help please?

I've been through the exact same thing and cannot seem to get an answer here. When you go to Manage Storage, does it have something at the top like "19.1 GB of 25 GB available"? I only have a Mail account with 5.3 GB in it and a Backups account with 553 MB in it. Obviously, these don't add up to 19.1 GB. There was no change in any of these numbers when I deleted all the same files you mention. With the free Mobile Me storage expiring next month, this is something I'm pretty concerned about.

  • Exited during update. Will not reinstall to iTunes version 10.6

I accidentally stopped the update that was running from the Task Manager. I then tried to run it again. It starts like regular but then I get this message.
    iTunes Installer Completed
The installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured.
Errors occured during installation. Your system has not been modified.
Please run the installer gain, or click Finish to exit.
I ran it several times and I kept getting the same message.

iTunes 10.6.3 will not update so that I can sync my iphone.
Could you walk us through what happens (when you try to update your itunes) in some more detail, please?

I have been having the same issue for the last two weeks. No real indication as to why it ever began other than I had turned off my router and Airport Extreme Base Station off for a weekend while I was away from my place.
iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, all have no issues at all with my Airport Extreme Base Station. Can stay connected throughout my living room, bathroom, bedroom, no issues whatsoever.
My 5 month old MacBook Pro 2.66 GHz Core i7 Airport is sometimes perfect, able to connect, DHCP, and browse without issue. Then, for no reason, I won't be able to join my wireless network, or when I can join, I can't pick up an IP address. And then it will connect, pick up and IP, and then it won't browse. No real rhyme or reason to when this will happen, or when it works.
I thought that it was an issue with my MacBook Pro, but then my sister visited with her brand new MacBook Pro 2.26 Intel Core 2 Duo, and while a month ago she was able to connect, DHCP, and browse without issue, this weekend she had all of the same issues I was having.
My XBOX 360 and MacBook Pro have absolutely no issues with the wired connection. Only my WAN seems to have this issue.
Did you ever find anything more to this?

  • ITunes 11.1.4 will not recognize iPhone, iPad after Dell BIOS update

I suspect the problems everyone is having are related to the BIOS.  I am running a Dell XPS i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40 GHz 3.4 GHz with 24 GB RAM, 64 bit OS x64 based processor.  OS is Windows 8.1
I just updated my BIOS as suggested by Dell.  Now iTunes 11.1.4 will not recognize my iPhone or iPad.
My computer accesses the iPhone or iPad, but iTunes does not recognize them.
This was not a problem prior to updating BIOS.
Is there a fix or patch?
I have to sync my devices for work.
Please no baby-steps replies.  Have tried everything including removing devices from device manager and reconnecting to force driver update and try to force iTunes recognition.  None of that works.
    Thanks!

Here is the fix from Waldo-E3 elsewhere in this forum.
Like I said, no baby steps answers please!
    Kudos to Waldo-E3!
      RESOLVED...
Found these steps posted elsewhere by another and the solution worked for me...
    1. Go to Windows 8.1 Control Panel.
    2. Go to Hardware and Sound; Devices and Printers; Unspecified (look for Apple Mobile Device USB Driver)
    3. Right-click, then select properties on the menu list.
    4. Select the "Hardware" tab at the top  When the properties dialog box opens, once more select properties on the lower right hand button.
    5. Under the "Driver" tab menu, the update driver button will be grey and unselectable here. So you need to select and click "Change Settings" button located near the lower left corner.
    6. Now you can click the "Driver" tab menu near the top, so you can see the "Update Driver" button.
    7. Select "Update Driver".
    8. Select and click "Browse my computer for driver software".
    9. For Windows 8.1 64 bit, it should be located in the folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.
    10. Click Next, and let the driver re-install.
    11. iTunes  11.1.4.62 should open automatically if your iphone is connected already
