Itune match show duplicate album

I've just take my iTune Match account and I've seen a little "bug" on the iphone.
I've got 1 album that show itself 2 times (1 in the P letter, for 'Katy Perry - Prism', the second in the R letter, filter available when i show my entire collection)
Here's a capture:
It's the same album, but it seem to be downloaded twice.

C'est le même album , mais il semble être téléchargés deux fois

iTunes Match only matches music to the store of record for your account. It does not match across stores.

  • I dare you to solve this: iTunes Remote show duplicate albums...

But it does not in iTunes, only on my iPhone. It's making me nuts. I'm referring to the remote app that you download on your iPhone and that controls your iTunes of course. On my laptop it shows Miles Davis, Kind of Blue but in remote application it shows two Kind of Blue Albums. Very frustrating. I made sure album name was exact through all songs as well as artist. This seem to be a reoccurring problem on about 10% of my albums.

u Say your album names are all the same... What about the "album artist "? I think that's the name of it, in "more info" it's the one right above album:) let me know if this helps..

How do i delete duplicates from my music library. After updating my iTunes the "Show Duplicates" option does not appear in the menu

If you are on Version 11.0.1 rather than 11 Apple put it back in
    View > Show Duplicates
Option + View > Show Exact Duplicates
so if you are on 11 upgrade to 11.0.1 and you will have it

  • Using iTunes Match, very little album art is showing

I'm using Mavericks on a 2009 unibody (white plastic) Macbook.  This is not my main computer so I'm trying to free up storage space.  I had the idea to delete all of the music files from the Music folder and just use iTunes Match as a streaming service, just like on my iPhone and iPad.  (The music files are stored on my main Mac with multiple redudant backups.)
I may have gotten overzealous in deleting data.  I saw an album art folder with over 1 gigabyte of data and deleted that as well.
Now all of the music still shows up in the Album view - as it should - however very few of the tracks have any album art.  I gave it some time to see if the art would download from iTunes Match, but it's not happening (get album art is enabled in preferences).
I had the idea to hold down the Option key while restarting iTunes and create a new library, then let iTunes Match populate it.  I don't want to download any content, I just want everything to show up with album art.
Will this work, and how would I remove the corrupted library if it does?

Thanks but still no luck I'm afraid.
To update: I have been using itunes 6 from the outset and have always manually updated the ipod - it has never even been switched to automatic as I changed this at the start (advice from a friend). File formats for the affected tracks are all either AIFF or Apple Lossless - same as all the unaffected tracks.
The even stranger thing is that artwork for some albums, where all the tracks were imported manually at the same time, shows for some tracks on the ipod and not others. The artwork does, however, show for all of the tracks on the ipod when viewed through itunes!

  • ITunes match creates duplicates of all songs a computer upgrade

So I had a mac mini and over the summer I deleted all my music on my computer and redownloaded using itunes match to get the higher quality for a number of my older rips.
Fast forward to last month when I upgraded to a macbook air.  Instead of downloading all my music from the cloud again, I just copied it over from my mac mini (running 10.6.8 server) to the new air (10.8) using the add to library option from within itunes.
Then I put in my apple id and itunes match info into iTunes and it did it's thing.  The problem now is that I have two copies of every song show up in itunes, one on my computer and one in the cloud.  Why didn't iTunes match just "match" the songs? Why is it giving me thousands of duplicates?  Should I just delete all the ones from the cloud and run match again?
Thanks so much for your help with this, and sorry if this is an issue that has already been resolved, but I couldn't find anything.

Also, every five seconds iTunes Match decides to run through the three steps again, doesn't actually change anything, just goes rough the steps until complete.  I click on artists or albums or anything else and then iTunes match pops up and runs through the three steps again.

  • Ipod touch shows duplicate albums?

    Hi,
I have a second generation ipod touch 32gb, and recently upgraded to software 3.0...
I also have the latest version of itunes on a macbook pro running leopard.
Now, I have sorted all of my songs to how I want them. I pressed "Show duplicates", and there's nothing... I checked all of the files in the itunes music folder, no duplicates or anything, and checked it out on itunes as well. Everything looks perfect...
All of the songs will sync onto my iPod fine..when I search using the songs mode, it states I have exactly the amount of songs on my itunes...but when i search using cover flow or album mode, there are a few albums that, for one reason or another, have been duplicated. I looked at them, and they display the exact same songs. It's really weird, I have attempted to restore iPod several times and even reload my songs. Nothing helps.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi,
I had a similar issue where 2 of my albums would show up twice in cover flow. I took a closer look at these 2 albums to see if they had anything in common. In both cases I had added tracks to the albums in the past manually.
    Try this,
    1. Go to one of the albums that is being duplicated in cover flow.
    2. Right click on the first track and click "Get info" and then the "sorting" tab.
    3. At the bottom of the "sorting" tab hit "next" or "previous". Go thru the album and keep an eye on how each track is sorted. In my case the "sort album" field had text in them when other tracks on the album did not. It's best to keep the sort criteria simple. When I deleted the text I sync'd and only had one copy of the album.
    Hope this helps.

  • Itunes Match remembers incorrect album artist

    Hi all,
I'm having an issue with Itunes Match with a particular CD that I imported which is a compilation from various artists.
After importing the CD, I noticed that on my Ipad and Iphone, the album was appearing as 16 separate albums rather than one compilation album.
I also noticed that the Album Artist name read "Compliation" (spelling mistake deliberate as that is what it was).
I am aware of the need to make sure that artist and album names are synced up, and the "This is a compilation" flag to be checked and all that stuff.
So, I changed the Album artist to "Various Artists".  However, when I go back into my devices (other than Windows Itunes), only a couple of them have changed to "Various Artists", and most of them still appear as "Compliation", but still as 16 separate albums even though all the data looks the same.
So to be clear, even when the data appears to be the same on the iphone (regardless whether it's the same as on Windows or not), it is NOT grouping them as one album - it's 16 albums with 1 track on each.
I have tried changing various meta data.  In fact I've pretty much changed every field.  When I change fields, the changes are coming through on the devices, except this "Compliation" which appears to be completely stuck.
I've even tried deleting the CD completely from Itunes and Icloud twice, changing all the metadata on the PC to remove all references to "Compliation" and reimporting, but it still somehow remembers the "Compliation" that I told it to delete from the Cloud.
I have also tried switching off Itunes Match on the devices and on again, but this also didn't make any difference.
I don't really understand how meta data that I've removed before I even import that CD, and previously told to be deleted from the cloud, is magically returning.
The only other thing I noticed is that each track has a different album art (some of which are wrong anyway), but even if I deleted all the album art from every track on that CD in Itunes, it still appeared in Ipad and Iphone.  Can different album art cause an album to be split into multiple albums?
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this issue?

    That happens sometimes:
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • ITunes Match showing different content on different devices

I have recently signed up for itunes match and have connected three devices as follows:
Windows 7 x64 PC running latest itunes 10.5.2.11
    Apple ipad version 1 64gig 3G with iOS 5.01
    iPhone 3GS 16gig with iOS 5.01
I have matched 4900+ songs from my PC iTunes library with iCloud. I have recently removed all my old music files and re-downloaded the iTunes *.m4a version of every matched song.
I also have uploaded 1000+ songs that were not matched. I have no errors at all... so PC iTunes software appear to be working okay.
My Ipad and iPhone have also been switched over to iTunes Match and I have therefore deleted all 'local' songs on both devices... I then switched on the 'SHOW ALL MUSIC' in the settings of the music app to show the icloud list... but it is different on both my ipad and iphone compared to the PC and compared to each other.
My PC has a total of 5992 music files either matched or uploaded to iCloud
My Ipad shows 5804 music files on icloud
My iPhone has 3632 music files on icloud
Loads of space is confirmed as being available on both devices
I have tried rebooting both ipad and iphone I have switched off/on 'SHOW ALL FILES' in settings to reveal that there are no songs on either the iPad or iPhone so only seeing view of songs on iCloud.
I have turned off/on icloud on both devices and still same file totals.
I have even updated itunes match several times from my PC via itunes store menu.
I have switch on/off itunes Match on my PC... I have even backed up my library deleted all the music both locally and on Icloud and then re-imported and rematched/uploaded all the files again without any errors but both my iPad and iPhone fail to see all files on the icloud.
I have even waited quite some hours to see if they eventually will update but no luck.
I have submitted feedback to apple as a bug report, but if anyone has any suggestions that I can try in the meantime to fix this 'out of sync' issue.
Also on the PC in itunes preferences. I have reset cache and sync history in iTunes but still no joy - it appears that the iphone and ipad are not receiving the current version of my icloud content?

Same problem here. I dont find all songs back on my iphone although i have activated all required items in itunes and on the iphone.
I got a rather big library (16k songs), not everything matched BUT for example i only see Artist starting with "A"... all the other ones are not on my iphone.. very strange.
    - Same story under my songs.
    - All my playlist on the other hand are shown..
So it would be nice to find out what to do about this...

  • ITunes Match not syncing album by year in Music app

I have been cleaning up my iTunes library, on my MBP. While importing some new songs and editing some old ones, the albums are sorting correctly by year in iTunes, but not in the Music app in iOS. I edited the year info for all the tracks in the album, but the year in the Music app says the old year, which means the albums are out of chronological order. I use iTunes Match to sync. Where is the old year hiding?

Well, after a weekend of complete disaster and nightmares for iTunes Match, everything is back to normal except one major flaw that's really annoying me.
On friday no other tracks but the matched ones would stream on either my Apple TV or my secondary computer. They wouldn't download if I wanted them to on this secondary computer. Music videos included.
Later last evening every track on iCloud started working properly again. Except music videos. They'd not download on my secondary computer. They wouldn't stream on my Apple TV. I did some tests and out of 208 music videos currently compatible with iCloud (because they were purchased with the same account) only 3 actually stream and download. So either this is part of the temporary breakdown iTunes Match has been suffering, or because of it my music videos are corrupted.
I've contacted Customer Support 4 times to no avail so far regarding a response. Either I can play/download my music videos again or one of the main features for me of iTunes Match on my Apple TV is absolutely broken and useless.
Apple really needs to address this and solve my problem. Otherwise iTunes Match is only partially working. What would the use of buying music videos at the iTunes Store would be for me from now on???

  • Using iTunes Match, Show All Music not working for one playlist

I am using an iPhone 6 Plus with iOS 8.2. I just recently subscribed to iTunes Match and all of my music has been matched/uploaded.
When I turn on iTunes Match and Show All Music on my iPhone, all of my playlists show up but one of them is incomplete, and doesn't have an option to download the missing songs from the cloud.
So, for example, I have a playlist that on my Mac has 696 songs and they are all matched by iTunes Match, and they all appear as either already on my phone or downloadable. Most of the other playlists are the same: working as expected. But I also have a playlist that on my Mac has 58 songs and they are all matched by iTunes Match, but only nine of them appear on my phone (they were already there), and none of the remaining 49 are showing as available to download from the cloud.
Is it possible to fix this? I've had bad luck in the past deleting playlists on the phone with the goal of having them refresh during the next sync. (The bad luck involved my playlists being deleted in iTunes on my Mac after the sync.)

    Hi Michael,
thanks for this, this helped me out as I just had the same issue but on my iPad lol.
Forgot about that setting even though I knew about it, just goes to show, out of sight, out of mind.
    Regards,
    Steve

  • When i syn with itunes i get duplicate album, how do i resolve it ?

How do you remove duplicate album and why doe it happen?

I have a similar problem. When I sync my iPod classic with iTunes 10, I have several albums that wind up appearing on my iPod's album list anywhere from two to six times each. The albums all appear correctly in iTunes -- they're not split into multiple albums, each with a few tracks. It's a complete duplication of the album.
For example, I have R.E.M.'s Automatic for the People album. It displays correctly in iTunes; I only see it once, all twelve tracks appear on a single album. When I sync to my iPod, I have three copies of the album, each with the same twelve tracks, same album art -- to all appearances completely identical to each other. I've removed the album from my sync list, gone through a sync, confirmed it was removed, then added it again with the same result -- three copies. I've removed the album from iTunes, synced, confirmed it was removed, then added it back into iTunes, synced again and once more, three copies of the album appear. I've made sure each track has their track number of total tracks, disc 1 of 1, checked through the sort tab -- I'm at a loss. I haven't found anything online to help at all.
    Any other suggestions?

  • ITunes Match, No Artists / Albums on My Ipad

    Hi Guys
Hoping someone can help here - after 3 days setting itunes match to match and upload 20,000 songs I've found the ipad shows songs and playlists but that I can't see anything under my ablums or artists tabs, I've tried leaving this to see if it was just taking time, but still nothing, does anyone have any advice?

  • ITunes Matched an (obscure) Album NOT in Store - What's Going On?

So I added an album to my iTunes that I was sure was not in the store, and it wasn't - it's a rare instrumental version of somewhat-rare album, and definitely out of print regardless, eBay has 1 copy for $83 - however iTunes "Matched" it all, and didn't "Uploaded" it...
So my question is this, is it either:
    1) iTunes just uploaded my files and mistakingly indicated the album was Matched and not Uploaded?
    2) iTunes matched my album with ANOTHER user's version already uploaded?
    or
    3) iTunes really does have the album in their database, just not in their store, and they are indeed matching my album to their files and letting me download nice 256k versions to other iOS devices??
I would appreciate any input or thoughts, I didn't see this situation listed anywhere else...
    Thanks,

    Interesting, Thanks.
I also tried to verify this by purposefully introducing some artifacts into a track, then adding it to iTunes Match again, "Matched" not "Uploaded", then downloading the matched copy to check, and sure enough there was no artifact. So it's either NOT just a version of my uploaded copy, as we think, or it was my previously saved upoloaded copy since I matched it with iTunes a second time, or it's someone elses...
I think the best explanation is like you describe, they have tracks in their database available for match that they do not make available in the store.
Anyone else experience something like this?

  • ITunes Match Replacing My Album Ratings

iTunes/iTunes Match is totally replacing all my album ratings with 3 stars. Even after I change the rating, after a while it'll again revert to a 3 star rating. Not cool. Thank god my song ratings are still untouched, but who knows.

I contacted Apple's support team regarding this problem. The following response solved my problem.
You can usually resolve most issues with iTunes Match by turning the service off and back on. Follow these steps for your operating system:
    - Mac OS X: hold down the Option key and choose Store > Turn Off iTunes Match. Then, go back to the same menu and choose Turn On iTunes Match.
    - Windows: hold down the Shift key and choose Store > Turn Off iTunes Match. Then, go back to the same menu and choose Turn On iTunes Match.

  • "Loading iTunes Match" showing each time I start Music

    Hi,
I've recently had some trouble with iTunes match, where it wasn't downloading songs, although I could stream them fine. I spoke to someone from Apple who suggested turning off iTunes Match, then do a 'Reset All Settings', then re-enable iTunes Match. This seems to work fine, as I can now download songs.
Since performing the above 'reset', each time I start 'Music', it displays 'Loading iTunes Match', the progress bar gets all the way across, then I see my songs (not my playlists though - but that's a separate question). However, if I come out of Music, and go back in, I see the same message..
I've now tried about 10 times, with re-boots and turning off/on iTue

    Hi,
There may a problem track amongst those tracks that are waiting. Firstly, add iCloud status column to song view - go to menu > view > view options and tick box.
Next is to examine those tracks waiting - is there anything unusual or large? You may need to remove all those tracks waiting from your library. Next hold shift key whilst turning off match. Close iTunes, reopen and turn on match. You will be asked to add this computer, do so. The match process should be quick, match will remember previous matches and uploads.
Once process complete, readd those tracks, a small batch at a time. This will help you find any track that match does not like.
