  • How do you stop synched iTunes music disappearing from my iPhone 5?

I have about 35G of music on my iTunes on my iMac, a good % of it having been purchased on ITunes.  The music sync setting for my iPhone 5 is automatic / everything.
For the past couple of months, I've been noticing music disappearing from my iPhone when it's offline (eg on the plane, when I listen to my music on my iPhone the most).  Such music would come back as "in the cloud" when I regain wifi / data access.  I would then download them onto my iPhone again.  And then they would disappear again!  How can I stop such annoying behavior?  Does switching music sync to manual help?  Thank you.

    Hello claire267
In the Messages app, in the drop down menu go to Messages > Preferences. Once there click the Accounts tab and then remove the iMessage account and that will stop all messages associate with your phone number from showing up on your computer.

  • My App store and itunes has disappeared from my iphone

My app store and itunes apps have disappeared from my iphone.
I suspect Apple is responsible and is trying to force an upgrade. Does anyone know if this is true? because if it is we should object to this.
The upgrade on my ipad was such a horrible experience, I don't want to do it to upgrade my iphone. (Upgrades have been a nightmare every since the itunes interface was changed. In my view, iTunes is the now one of the most unintuitive interface imaginable - [bar windows 8]. Prior to that it was generally easy to do upgrades and backups without hiccups and the interface was great. Now its too obscure to find what you need to do.)
I have been an Apple fan since the original Apple computer - but am not very happy with recent changes that affect use-ability and reliability.
General grumbling aside - every time you upgrade, you have to reload all of your apps; and a lot of favorite apps won't work with the new system. That's another reason I don't want to upgrade.
Without the App and iTunes application - you can't selectively update the apps you want to update or even access your music.
    Questions:
    1. Does anyone know why the Apps and iTunes apps disappeared? (I'm not the only one complaining about this.)
    2. Does anyone know how to get them back without having to effectively erase your phone and start over?
    3. Does anyone know how to get iTunes on the computer to recognize your iiphone when the itunes app disappeared off it?
    Thank you.
    DD

    Hi Dahveed,
Thank you again for the advice. But, rebooting did not help.
In the end I was forced to upgrade.
I am relieved to say that this upgrade went very smoothly compared to other upgrades.
I did not have to re-download apps and they appear to be in their normal folders - except a new app page 2 (after the primary page) appeared containing only the missing apps. This was not there before.
Answer to the disappearing Apple App Store and iTunes Dilemma:
The answer to this problem unfortunately appears to be to upgrade the system.
In my experience the Apps (which presumably are removed to force the user into an upgrade) then re-appear.
On the positive side, at least on this occasion, it did not turn out to be a nightmare make work project.

  • Has apple ever responded to why music disappears from your Iphone

My Iphone 4 and my duaghters Iphone 4s have had the Music disappear randomly from the device, I see others had this issues as well. Has Apple ever said what is causing this issue.

There are two "knees in the curve" regarding Mac Pro:
    • 2008 Mac Pro 3,1 and later for Macs that can
    -  run 64-bit kernel and address larger that 4GB memory per Application.
    - be supported by future Mac OS such as what most expect to see from 10.8 Mountain Lion when released.
    • 2009 Mac Pro 4,1 and later Macs that:
    - feature Multi-Threading and memory improvements that almost double processor performance over previous models at the same clock speed and number of processors.

  • Itunes music disappearing from library

I recently got a new laptop and copied all my music across however after working perfectly for weeks I found that when I went on to itunes all my music had disappeared from my library. I then transferred it again and it did the smae, as in it worked fine for a while and then was empty again. This has happened 3 times now and it is really frustrating. Another thing I have noticed is that I find an itunes genius file and an itunes extra file in my recycle bin, when I havent deleted them??

I have a similar problem. My internet wasn't working properly on my screen name for my computer, so my mom made me a whole new one for when i loggin to my computer. She transferred all my old files to my new sn and when I went to open my itunes, my library was completely empty... so i went back on my old sn to open it up and it was also empty... I don't know what happened, and i'm freaking out can anyone help me
    !?!?!

  • Why has all my music disappeared from my iphone 4S (iOS6)?

This morning on the train into work I was listening to a track as usual on my iPhone 4S (iOS6).
The track finished, so I used my Beats headphones to skip to the next track (as usual) and there was just a prolonged silence.  On taking my phone out of my pocket I then saw that all my music content had disappeared!  When I go into the Music app it simply displays 'No Content'.
As I am not at home, I cannot re-sync.
I want to know how on earth Apple can be releasing an update that causes so much hassle?
Can anyone help & explain why the above has happened?
    Thanks.

For some reason, I did not see that you had replied to my reply (usually get an email notification), so sorry about the delay.
iTunes syncing is generally in one direction only, from the computer's iTunes library to the iPod (and that is by design).  You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer, except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store.  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.  (The CNET article seems to be popular.)
Once the song files are on your computer's drive, you can add them to your new iTunes library.  After confirming everything is there, you can then sync your iPod to that iTunes library.

  • Playlist and music disappeared from my iPhone after sync.

Itunes for MAC (updated) shows I have music and playlists on my phone in the device sidebar. On my actual iPhone 6 there are no playlists nor any music.

The Photo Booth app has never been present on the iPhone. Only the iPad. I'm not sure about the iPod Touch. I can say with conficence, though that Photo Booth has never been present on any iPhone starting with the original all the way through the 5s on any version of iOS.

  • IPhone glitch: Music disappears from iPhone...

For reasons unknown to myself, music has disappeared from my iPhone. I set up iTunes to look for an external hard drive for my music. So, whenever I want to play my music through iTunes, I plugged in my external HD first, and then launched iTunes. This has worked fine for a long time. Then one day, I noticed an iTunes folder on my MacBook Pro's local hard drive that contained ALL of my music. The whole point of my putting my music on an ext HD was to free up my laptop hard drive. Simple enough, yes? Common choice? Yes.
I recently changed my preferences in iTunes to NOT copy music from my iTunes Library after noticing that my entire music collection was being copied to my MacBook Pro's hard drive. Since then I've noticed music disappearing from my iPhone. Is this because of my preference change? Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

My mistake. I think it's a problem with iTunes and not the iPhone. Music that I had added to my iTunes library has mysteriously disappeared.

  • Hi, just updated hubby's iPhone 4 and all of his music has disappeared from the iPhone and from the iTunes library! He does have music still stored on his iPod, but can't get it from the library on his iPod back to phone or itunes. technophobe help pls!

and all of his music has disappeared from the iPhone and from the iTunes library! Luckily he does have music still stored on his iPod, but I can't get it from the library on his iPod back to the phone or to itunes. Please help, but technophobe so put it in simple english please!

Sounds like the music you had on your phone was not the same music on his computer. The iPhone/iPod touch is not designed to be a storage device. When you sync with a computer that doesn't have your music, it deletes your music from your phone.
Was this music you purchased from iTunes? if so, and you are in the US, tap on itunes app, tap updates, tap purchased and tap on the cloud icon to get each song back. If you're not int he us, get iOS5 update later this week and do the same.
But you need to move your itunes library to his computer. Create a user account on his macbook pro for you. From your external drive backup, load your itunes library on it. Then sync as usual! (Don't tell me you don't have a backup for your computer!)

  • I downloaded Ringtone from iTunes into my iPhone 6 and set it as the default Ringtone. Worked well until I had to recharge my phone. Now disappearred from my iPhone but shows in Tones when phone sync'd. How do I get to show back as default Ringtone

I downloaded a Ringtone from iTunes into my iPhone 6 and set it as the default Ringtone.Worked well until I had to recharge my phone. The Ringtone has now disappeared from my iPhone and I'm left with just the Ringtones that come standard with iPhone 6. I sync'd my phone and it shows in the Tones folder. How do I get the Ringtone back as a default Ringtone in my iPhone 6. Quite frustrating!!

In iTunes, try signing out of your Apple ID & then back in: click on iTunes Store on the left sidebar of iTunes, click on your Apple ID on the top right, sign out, sign back in.  Then try to sync your purchased music to your phone again.

  • Music disappearing from iPhone

I have a number of albums that disappear from my iphone every time I sync it, unless I have the sync set to manual for music. It's the same albums everytime, plus the same tracks from one more album.
Why do these albums keep disappearing from the phone even though they stay in itunes, they are checked, and sync quite happily manually?

if you are doing automatic syncing, you have to have those songs in a playlist and have that playlist setup to sync in order for them to stay on the iPhone.

  • Purchased Music Disappearing from iPhone?

My purchased music randomly disappears from my iPhone 6 (16GB).  This happens to some songs, not all.
    Details:
I purchase music from iTunes directly from my phone.
These are songs that I have had for months.
Go to play them and they are gone.
I go to the store and repurchase (download again).
    Why are they randomly disappearing?
    Very frustrating.

I'm having the same problem. Albums/songs that I've purchased on my iphone5 through iTunes keep disappearing from my music library. When I switch on the 'show all' setting in the iTunes and App store settings I can see it there again and download from the cloud, but it's still a pain in the *** having the keep re-downloading music that i've already downloaded! It only ever seems to be the last album I purchased that it happens to, and there doesn't seem to be any pattern to when or why it disappears. I thought maybe it might be to do with the overnight backup process, but my phone backs up every night when I plug it in to charge and the music doesn't disappear every night! It seems completely random. I go looking for a particular song and it just isn't there anymore. I've scoured the net but can't find a reason why this is happening.
It's an iphone5 on ios 8.0  Anybody got any ideas?

  • Music completely disappeared from my iPhone 4S... Four Times!!!

I own an iPhone 4S.  Since I've upgraded to iOS 8, the music player function has been buggy.  I am also a subscriber of iTunes Match.
For the fourth time today, and in 3 months, ALL the music that I have downloaded from iTunes Match have completely disappeared from my iPhone.  It's EXTREMELY frustrating to have to re-download my songs and albums again and again.  Even that is an issue in itself.  The downloads are buggy as well as the songs don't download well.
Does any know how I can avoid my songs from being auto-wiped out from my iPhone please?  And what is wrong???

Try this support document. iTunes Match on iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support  at the bottom of the page there are several more links, and one is for troubleshooting. I do not use Match, so I cannot tell you anything else about how it works, etc., but the troubleshooting link should help.

  • HT1711 I recently deleted iTunes off my computer by accident, when I reinstalled it I got the new version and I can't figure out how to get my music to store on my iTunes to transfer from my iPhone to iTunes.

I recently deleted iTunes off my computer by accident, when I reinstalled it I got the new version and I can't figure out how to get my music to store on my iTunes to transfer from my iPhone to my iTunes.  I goal is to get my iPod filled with the music that I have stored on my iPhone and figured the only way to do so is to use iTunes as my transfer hub.  Any suggestions?

Wow you're kind of a iTunes bully.  Dude the reason I am asking for advice and help is I am completely computer ********.  If I knew the answer I wouldn't be asking.  Anyways.  Question to anyone else.
If I have no music on my iTunes at all and no music on my computer, hard drive or any other version of storage yet there is a playlist on my iPhone. While my iPhone is plugged into my PC and my iTunes is up, is there a way to swap my playlist from my iPhone to my iTunes?  Directly?  Without downloading some new media source or backing up my old media source from my history.  The reason everything was deleted (iTunes and media source) was due to the size of everything and space it was requiring.  I am simply trying to get 233 songs from A to B.
I have tried magic but it is not working.
