Itune rented movies to ipad

Itune rented movies to IPAD. I have downloaded and moved many movies to ipad for my travels. I just downloaded 2 rented movies today to my imac, and now it will not let me move to my ipad. Itunes claims I have already downloaded to a device. I have used this process many times. Did something change?

I just had the same problem and someone posted the below, which fixed it!
Deleting the SC Info folder also worked for me. See "Remove the SC info folder" on this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1389

  • Transfer iTunes rented movies to iPad

    Hi All,
I have read all the threads on moving rented movies from iTunes library on PC to iPad.  Problem is I do not see the "move icon" in the library of movies.  I see all 3 rented titles I wish to move.  Guidance is appreciated.  I am sure it is something simple but yet frustrating.
    Thanks!

You can Move movie to iPad.

  • HT1657 unable to play itunes rented movie on ipad 3rd gen

Hi, I have rented a movie (the butler) on my Ipad 3rd gen, but it refuses to play: not enough storage. I meanwhile deleted all kinds of apps and photos and freed up to 3,6 GB of storage but the movie still will not play.

  • Watching Itunes Rented Movie on IPAD.

If I rented a movie on Itunes on my PC but then decide I would rather watch the movie on my Ipad how would I go about doing that?  Thank You.

Select the iPad from the device list in iTunes, navigate to movie rentals and choose the option to move.

  • Transfer an iTunes rented movie from my iPhone 5 to iTunes or iPad?

How do I Transfer an iTunes rented movie from my iPhone 5 to iTunes or iPad?

    It says
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.

At this point I would contact iTunes by:
    https://getsupport.apple.com/ServiceOptionAction.action
iTunes > iTunes store > connecting and downloading > movie rentals > chat or email with iTunes.
They should tell you what to do or how to fix it.

  • ITunes rented movies won't play on my PC.  "This movie required QuickTime which this version of iTunes doesn't include.  So I downloaded QT but movies still won't play.  HELP

iTunes rented movies won't play on my PC.  "This movie required QuickTime which this version of iTunes doesn't include."  So I downloaded QT 7 but movies still won't play.  HELP  Very frustrating.

Ok nw the rented film is on the iPad which won't play and when I looked at the Mac I was greeted with an error message saying that the film could nt be transferred because the file had already been transferred somewhere else!  Thing is I can see it on theioad and the Mac still!
Obviously the film Kees checking where it as you can't watch it in two places at the same time. I can understand that but I knw it's not anywhere else.
The only thing I can think of is if when time machine backs it up it thinks it's being watched!
    Any ideas anyone?

  • How to move a rented movie from IPAD to Macbook Itunes?

    Hi,
I've rented a movie and downloaded it on my IPAD4. I didn't watch it yet and I prefer to move the movie to my Macbook pro Itunes.
I've connected the IPAD4 to the Macbook using the USB cable provided with the IPAD power supplier but I cannot find a way to transfer the file.
Does anybody know how to move the file from the IPAD to the Macbook/Itunes?
    Thanks,
    Flavio

You can't. Movies rented on an iPad 4 can't be transferred to any other device or any computer.

  • Problems renting movies on iPad 2 from iTunes.

I have had problems twice lately renting movies from iTunes. The first time, the download got hung up and then gave me an error. I never could get it to finish. Support helped me remove and then suggested I download on my laptop and then sync to my iPad. It worked, but that isn't a fix to the problem. It is a work around. One of the reasons I got it was to rent movies when I travel and I don't want to take my laptop to do that.
Today, I had my second problem. I rented a movie and downloaded directly to my iPad. When I went to look for it under videos, I couldn't find it. Later, it showed up under videos out of the blue. I started watching the movie and it got about halfway through when the movie froze. It would not go any further although it had all or the remaining chapters listed in the chapter guide.
In looking through some other forums I have heard that my first issue was quite common and now I have heard from others that my second issue is somewhat common as well. Does anyone know what the issue is or what Apple is doing about this?

Pad2, the new iPad Supported Video Formats & Movie Formats
    H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
    MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • Is internet connection needed to watch iTunes rented movies on iPhone/iPad?

I am looking into renting some movies from iTunes to watch on a plane on my iPad. I know I need and internet connection to download the rental and it is then store in iTunes but do i need internet connection to start watching the movie? I read somewhere that to begin the 24/48 hour viewing period iTunes needs to connect to the internet to acknowledge that the time has started. Is this the case or is it possible to just start watching the downloaded rentals through iTunes while on a plane with no access to the internet?

I suspect the answer is no as rented movies can be watched on normal iPods with no connectivity. You'll need an active connection during the transfer of the rented movie from iTunes to the device. At the end of the transfer the device will hold the only copy and it can then enforce the playback time limit without needing to "phone home".

  • Itunes rented movie "video format not supported" by ipad?

I just rented 3 movies in the iTunes Store.  They all downloaded to iTunes successfully.  They are all SD, not HD.  When I try to move them to the iPad and sync, I get a message saying that the movies cannot be played on this iPad because the video format is not supported.
I have rented movies before and played them successfully.  What do I do now?
iPad is about 6 months old, 32 GB Wi-Fi, running iOS 6.1.3.

I'm not sure why they don't play ...
But I wonder why you wouldn't simply update your iPad to iOS 7.0.4 and see if that solves the issue.

  • Watching a rented movie on iPad that was rented on Apple TV

I rented a movie on Apple TV. Because my Internet is to slow it returned it without watching the movie. I now can't find it in purchase history or video app on iPad or iTunes. What should I do?

Here's what it says on the terms of sale for Movie Rentals:
You must be connected to the iTunes Store when moving or streaming movies. Once a movie is moved, it is no longer viewable on the sending device. You may only move movies to another device from your Mac or Windows computer. Movies downloaded directly to your Apple TV may not be moved. You have thirty (30) days after downloading a movie to begin viewing. Once you begin viewing, you have twenty-four (24) hours to view the movie (the “Viewing Period”). You may view the movie an unlimited number of times during the Viewing Period. Movies are not viewable after the thirty (30) day period. Stopping, pausing or restarting a movie does not extend the available time for viewing. If you move a movie to an iPod or iPhone and then use iTunes to restore the iPod or iPhone before you finish watching it, the movie will be deleted and will not be recoverable. This also applies to choosing Settings > Reset > Erase all content and settings on iPod touch and iPhone.
Broadband Internet connection required. For more information about Movie Rentals, please read the iTunes Store Movie Rental FAQ http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n307257
The Apple Store implies that once you download the movie--completely and in full--that you need not be connected to the internet to watch it (how, after all, would you watch it on an iPod if you needed that connection?). But this is still new and one never knows what kind of bugs the program might have. The "not connected" message may mean that, for one reason or another, the iTunes program on your computer doesn't think the movie was fully downloaded even though it was.
