If you have multiple drives on the same IDE or SCSI bus, these drives may interfere with each other.
Some computers need an update to the ATA or IDE bus driver, or Intel chipset. If iTunes has problems recognizing CDs or hanging or crashing while importing or burning CDs, check the support site for the manufacturer of your computer or motherboard.
Check the Windows Update website to verify that you have the latest service packs and patches for your OS. Service packs affect the performance of USB and firewire CD / DVD drives.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

    Hi,
Which software are you using to BURN ? Many software when we say burn they will find a valid optical drive to burn to an optical disc. If you wish to use USB, no need to burn, just copy like normal copy files from one drive to other drive.
    Regards.

  • I want to connect my iphone to my computer using bluetooth but when I try to it says Device driver software not found

How do I set up portable hotspot and also when conecting bluetooth to my PC it says device driver not found how do I sort this?

Unless you are trying to Tether, you can't pair an iPhone with any computer, by Bluetooth. File transfer, by Bluetooth, has never been supported on an iOS device.

  • HT3669 what if you get an error message saying the driver for Epson Photo R280 is unavailable

    Software update now says:
The software for this printer is currently unavailable. Please contact the printer’s manufacturer for the latest software.
This is stupid because I was using the printer today, encountered an error, and then I tried removing the printer then re-installing - now it won't be installed. This is lkilling me becuse I have many DVDs to label and a big customer who is ******.
    Thanks APPLE!!!

This is really BAD. I've tried going to EPSON's site and they say use Apple's Updater.... here's what I'm getting. Anyone else got any ideas?

  • ITunes says registry settings for importing and burning CDs or DVDs are missing.

i get a message after installing itunes 10.7 that registry settings are missing for importing and burning CD/DVDS. Says probably due to installing other burning sofware. Re-install ituenes.  I never installed anything between the older 10.6 and the new 10.7........just updated when it said new Apple software was available.  The update process seemed to delete the 10.6 install and then re-install a new version of itunes, 10.7.  Then the registry settings error message started coming up each time I start itunes. What's the proper way to re-install?
    Thanks for any suggestions.

I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

  • How do I set default dvd drive for burning

I am looking for a way to set a default dvd writer.
The system I am working on has multiple writers attached (one is a duplicator).
Unfortunately, the software or OS seems to latch on to the most recently added drive.
In one instance it defaulted to a removable backup drive we attached.
I have been getting around this by using the "build and burn" option then using the drop down box to select the proper DVD writer.
Is there a way to set a default and eliminate this step and the confusion that results when people instinctively click "burn" and the machine tries to write to improper locations?
Thanks for your help, this has been a thorn in my side for quite some time.

  • Computer saying no driver for device, Help!!

Hi, Hope someone can help I've got my ipod hooked up to computer and it's charging and the computer knows its there but keeps saying this - This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1) There is no driver selected for the device information set or element. Please install driver. So itunes is not seeing it either. it is fine on my other laptop, but i have recently bought this new computer which has vista could this be the problem?
dell e520   Other OS   windows vista

Could be -- iTunes and the iPod are currently not supported for compatibility with Windows Vista. Apple says they're working on an update for iTunes (presumably 7.0.3) that will be supported on Vista.

  • Can't upgrade my ipad2 to ios5 .. itunes says ipad update server not found

I have my main desktop I use for setting up my new iPad2.  Syncs fine, but when I tried to update to ios5, keep getting message that ipad update server is not available, check internet connection.  Itunes sees the internet, because it allows me to connect to the istore .. etc. Changed cables, I have tried it with firewall on, and firewall off .. makes no difference.  The test shows no connection, but you can see by the diagnostics that it did connect.
    PC is XP Pro,
I could connect fine from my laptop, working on same home network, however if I upgrade, it will dump all my apps .. I don't want to lose everything.
