ITune Store and Ping cannot connect

This happened after. I updated my iTune to 10.1.0.56. When ever I tried to connect it says the network is not working and ask me to check the connection. I can connect to the internet with all browser accept itune. I tried all ways eg. removing old itune reinstalling itune, making sure Firewall has permission for itune, etc. Nothing works. Then I discovered that I was running 2 anti-virus softwares Norton and Avast with 2 firewalls. I removed Norton and just left Avast as the sole anti virus restarts my PC and loard and behold my itune store and Ping got connected again. Phew!!! That feels good.
Now it's working fine again. I uses a laptop PC with window XP installed.

I got the same error... the trick didn't fix it... but I don't think it has to.
I already have had the current American Airlines app and happen to be flying later today. I was in the app to view my boarding pass and it gave me the option to add it... clicked to do so..
and now that boarding pass is in Passbook!
have now seen others posting that some apps will ask you if you want to use passbook if they are passbook enabled - and same success.
While it's frustrating not to be able to see all the apps available that support passbook via that connection that isn't happening... and apps that support passbook don't seem to have the keyword 'passbook' to come up in a reg itunes search.. Apps you have and apps you want that you know support passbook are all you need. I initially thought had to download special passbook apps or something - not the case. Just grab the apps you want normal via the iTunes store - and those that support passbook allow you to add the cards and passes and such to it.

    Efter att ha försökt att använda annat wifi fick jag samma problem dvs. kunde fortfarande inte göra uppdatering av mina appar. Jag prövade att ta bort flera stycken av dessa men det var ingen skillnad. På resa med ytterligare ett annat wifi lyckades det helt plösligt, vet inte varför. Får se om det blir samma problem nästa gång jag blir uppmanad att uppdatera appar.

    Try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if it then works.
    If that doesn't solve it then what has worked for some people is going into Settings > General > Date & Time and changing the date to a few months (or maybe a year or two) in the future and then re-trying

  • I recently purchased a refurbished macbook. I try to open the itunes store and it wont connect to it.

One of the first things I tried to do after connecting to my wifi was log in to my itunes account on itunes. It said that it could not connect to the store and to check my network connectivity...     You have to understand the difference between an Update and an Upgrade.
    An Update is a free change to add to the base code or as a bug fix within an existing Operating System. Such as the .11 added to 10.4.
    An Upgrade is a complete new Operating System that must be purchased. Such as 10.5 Leopard to 10.6 Snow Leopard.
    10.5 Leopard was based on Power PC code and was written for Power PC Macs with code added to allow it to run on Intel processors.
    10.6 Snow Leopard has completely rewritten code and only runs on Intel Macs.
    10.7 Lion used some 32 bit which allows it to run on Late 2006 through Early 2008 MacBooks and a lot of 64 bit code.

    i've even uninstalled mcaffee and i can't connect.

    ofcourse i wouldn't have bothered contacting you if i hadn't already
    a) checked the connection (and probable firewall difficulties) for a thousand times and downloaded all possible upgrades for windows xp (it's on auto-install anyway)
    b) uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of itunes a zillion times.
    thing is: itunes DOES work, it just seems to have problems connecting to the store (giving me -sometimes- a 11222 failure-code, if that means anything to you)
    apple software upgrades for my ipod has the same problem: it just can't connect to the apple servers i guess.
    i shut off th firwall and mcaffee and tried it all over again: still no progress
    maybe i overlooked something but in the meanwhile i feel like a total pc-noob.

    The very first thing that I would try is to restart your iPad and try again. Hold down on the sleep/power button until the slider appears on the screen and slide to the right to power off. Hold down on the sleep/power button until the Apple logo appears on the screen to resetrt the iPad, after it starts up, try the download again.
    Another thing to try is to reboot your router. I realize that your WiFi is working, but sometimes this can kick start problematic downloads. Unplug it from power for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in again. Try the download again after the router starts up.
    Something else to try that involves a few more steps ..... Close the iTunes Store app. Sign out of your Apple ID. Reset the iPad and then try again.
    Double tap the home button and swipe up on the iTunes Store thumbnail preview window to close the app. Tap the home button. Go to the home screen. Go to Settings>iTunes & App Store> Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen and then let go of the buttons and let the iPad start up.
    Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Sign in. Go back to the iTunes Store app and try to resume the download.

  • My Daughter forgot passcode an ipod disabled. I started the restoration and in the middle itunes disconnects and states cannot connect to ipod because locked, put in passcode.

    My girlfriend's account connects fine from within same network.
    There is definitely a problem- it appears to be many accounts having probs from all over judging by the community reaction
    I wish Mac had a better suuport system because the rep that helped me provided a dead link and told me it was my ISP

    Try this:
    1. Go to Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>Off
    2. Set the date ahead by a few months
    3. You should then be able to connect to the store

  • My US iphone has suddenly attacched to UK itunes store and I cannot get it back to US

    In 2005-2006 I lived in UK and had UK iTunes acct (no iphone).
    Moved to US, changed acct in 2007. No problems.
    Got iphone 2010. No problems.
    Randomly in 2013 my itunes acct reverts back to UK, taking iphone with it. I have sucessfully changed the itunes account back to US, but cannot get iphone to change back to US. I have tried syncing the phone with my US itunes. I've tried to find a way to change it on the actual phone. I'm out of ideas. Pleased help.

    Remember, any purchased item from the itunes store is forever associated with the Apple ID used to buy it.  So when you get prompted for an ID/password and it doesn't accept it, then you are using the wrong ID.
    Go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores, be sure it's logged into the ID you have set on the iphone (since that one seems to be connecting with the right ID).  If you've done this, then you might wait a bit to see if the "cannot connect to .. store" message has to do with internet connections.
