Hello there, G-Oker.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great recommendations for the very error message you are receiving:
Resolve specific iTunes update and restore errors
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694
Particularly:
Check USB connections
Related errors: 13, 14, 1600, 1601, 1602, 1603, 1604, 1611, 1643-1650, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, 4000, 4005, 4013, 4014, 4016, “invalid response,” and being prompted to restore again after a restore completes.
If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
Use another USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you checked your connections and are still seeing the error message, check for hardware issues.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
Cheers,
Pedro.

MP Installation success or error status: 1603.
Hi guys,
I try to install MP role on a new sccm 2012 server. Setup failed, I try:
- Remove the MP as a site system role (if it is still installed), wait for it to finish
- Remove IIS completely
- Reboot the server
- Stop the Task Scheduler Service
- Rename the %windir%\Tasks folder to something else (or move it)
- Start the Task Scheduler Service (this will recreate the %windir%\Tasks folder)
- Reinstall IIS, BITS, WebDAV
- Insure BITS and WebDAV are enabled
- Reinstall the MP
but still failed.

Horizon 27 version1 Windows 8.1 upgrade error
Hi all,
I tried to upgrade to windows 8.1 on my Horizon, but it always failed with error 0xC1900101 and 0x20017.
I've updated all drivers and applications, uninstall antivirus, disable firewall, check if encrypted software exist, also reset windows store cache.
I have moved the OS to and SSD mSATA, so I thought that could be the issue, but have also reboot from the HDD and tried to upgrade also with no luck.
Did you upgrade your Horizon to windows 8.1 ? how easy ? because of the lake of all pre-installed applications/games on and DVD, I would not like to do a clean install.
Thankshi itou31,
I don't have the IdeaCentre Horizon for testing but can you consider the following:
1. Perform a clean boot (this is to ensure that non-microsoft running service/apps aren't causing the issue)
2. Disable all connected peripherals (mouse, external drives, etc.)
3. Run Windows Update to get the latest patch and bug fixes for Windows 8.
When finished, run the Windows 8.1. upgrade from the Microsoft Store and observe.
Regards

While trying to install the new version of iTunes and Quicktime, I get an error while installing:
I checked the folder, and the iTunes.msi file is definitely there.
When I quit the installer, it said to try the Tools > Download Only option in the apple update software. I did it, and opened the iTunes.msi file, and got the same error.
I also tried uninstalling iTunes from Add/Remove Programs, but the same box in the picture above pops up.
Any suggestions?

first, head into your Add/Remove programs and uninstall your QuickTime. if it goes, good. if it doesn't, we'll just attend to it when we attend to itunes.
next, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. use it to clear any existing itunes and/or QuickTime installation configuration information from the PC.

Windows 8.1 upgrade Error - 00x80070652

Hi,
Please post the HP product number for your PC.
This Windows Community thread may be of interest.
There are some important steps to take prior to doing the upgrade. Review this MS posted document. Be sure to run the upgrade assistant.
Be sure that Windows 8 has all of the latest MS updates installed. There are prerequisite patches that are required.
Be sure that you have at least 40 GB of hard disk free space.
Back up your data to external media.
Make a Windows 8 recovery media to external media before doing the upgrade. I prefer to use a third party hard drive imaging program.
Temporarily disable the antivirus software.
You will need to reinstall your programs after the upgrade so make note of which ones are required.
Check the HP Support site for Window 8.1 updates for your particular PC. If you don't see any updates then your PC has not been tested/certified with Windows 8.1.

Windows 8.1 upgrade error 0xC1900101-0x40017
Hi
I purchased a Lenovo Thinkpad X220 Tablet model 4294-CTO directly from you. It came with a factory installed F5521gw Mobile Broadband option. The only change I have made to it is to install and additional 4GB of compatible memory shortly after i purchased it. Last year It was upgraded to windows 8 pro and I have installed all updates using your system upgrade 5 program and have installed all windows important and optional updates. I have also installed all your applicable Windows 8.1 drivers.
When I attempt to upgrage it to windows 8.1 using the windows store it fails on the first boot after installing the update with the error 0xC1900101-0x40017 and restores Windows 8.
I have done all the troubleshooting I can think of, including disabling all drivers not needed and all startup programs.
I have attemped the upgrade at least 15 times, including downloading the update a second time.
Can you please help me to complete this upgrade.
I you require any further information please contact me.

Moderator note: personal information removed for member's protection.Frank,
Based on the compatibility list on our support site here, Lenovo is not supporting X220 on Windows 8.1
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?DocID=HT079684
If you plug that error code into the microsoft support site, there are a lot of hits on their forums.
Here is the search page I used and I just plugged in your error code http://support.microsoft.com/search/
Here is one thread that may be helpful:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-windows_install/couldnt-update-to-window...
The explaination there suggests that one needs to run all Windows 8 updates before doing the 8.1 install, but you indicate you have already done this. You might check some of the other threads in that search result to see if there are more potential clues.
Hopefully, other X220 users here will add on with their experience and feedback.

I have several Windows Server 2012 R2 hosts. The OS is freshly installed, no roles/3d party software besides Hyper-V role). I also have a freshly installed VMM 2012 R2 server. They all are in the same AD domain. I want to manage those Hyper-V hosts
with this VMM instance, but I have troubles connecting those hosts to VMM.
Whenever I try to add a Hyper-V host in the VMM console, the process is stopped almost immediately after it starts. The failing step is "1.2 Install Virtual Machine Manager Agent". The final error message is as follows:
Error (410)
Agent installation failed on XXX.
Incorrect function (0x80070001)
Recommended Action
Try the operation again. If the problem persists, install the agent locally and then add the managed computer.
If I try to install the agent manually copied from the VMM host (C:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012 R2\Virtual Machine Manager\agents\amd64\3.2.7634.0
as of now) by just clicking on its MSI file in Windows Explorer (and agreeing to the Windows prompt to run it with elevated privileges), the installation fails as well with "Installation success or error status: 1603." in the
server Application log.
The only way I found to install the agent is to run the installation from command prompt with elevated privileges. In this case the installation finishes successfully, and I can add the host to VMM by marking the "Reassociate the host" checkbox
in the VMM wizard.
Why is it so? Isn't the agent supposed to install without manual intervention? As I recall, I had no such problem with previous versions of Windows Server and VMM.

MSCE: Server infractructire, MCSE: MessagingI brought up the share because it is off by default with Hyper-V Server as well as a Core installation. Regardless of the Firewall policy involved.
Maybe, but I don't work with pure Hyper-V and Core servers. I have a full-fledged Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter.
You're correct that File Server role is not enabled by default, this is my mistake. I open SMB-IN port manually (with the help of a group policy), and Windows considers it to be am equivalent of the enabled File Server role. Nonetheless, ADMIN$ share is
always accessible in my environment (and without it, for example, I wouldn't be able to remotely install things like SCOM Agent which installs without a glitch). Just in case I manually installed the File Server role, and it didn't help.
What you say about multihomed servers is interesting. The servers in question do have multiple network interfaces, but at the time I tried to install the VMM Agent only one of them (a designated host management / network access interface) had a real IP address.
Two other interfaces were non-configured (I apply a virtual switch configuration after the VMM Agent is installed). Just in case I disabled them when tried to install the VMM Agent remotely on the last host, and the installation still failed immediately
after start. Anyways, after the VMM Agent is installed manually the host can be normally re-associated with VMM, so it's doubtful that I have a network issue.
And, of course, there is no 3d-party software on the hosts (no antiviruses/firewalls in particular) except the EMC Unisphere Host Agent (a piece of software necessary for connecting a host to an EMC storage system) and networking drivers. Actually,
this is a pure Microsoft environment.
So I still believe that is has something to do with the Windows Installer inability to configure Windows Firewall policy after being invoked from Windows Explorer with a double-click on a MSI file. But I don't know how to strictly confirm it.

Unable to install iTunes after converting from Windows Vista to Windows 7. Am told installation was successful, then "iTunes was not installed correctly", followed by "Error 7 (Windows error 193). I have my iPod plugged into my computer via USB port. What am I doing wrong?
i have the only account on my laptop so have checked and am the account administrator
i run windows 7 home premium
I have the same problem and
have followed the link uninstalling in the correct order,
then restarted as per instructions,
went to Apple to download itunes,
hit download now,
Visit the iTunes download page. Click Download Now to download the iTunes installer. When prompted, click Save (instead of Run).
did not get a save instead of run prompt
Right click on iTunesSetup or iTunes64Setup (the installer you downloaded in step 3).
If you have Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8: Choose "Run as administrator."
i can only click run as administrator from right clicking the shortcut on my desktop screen
If iTunes fails to install or repair, it might be necessary to remove components left from a previous installation of iTunes and then reinstall.
sick of doing this
at least 7 or 8 times i have re installed itunes to no avail
troubleshooting no better
please help. pulling my hair out at this stage
it was working fine until 2 days ago when i opened itunes it offered to update to 12.1
not working since i clicked yes
also i have gone to restore previous point and ffs there are no restore points before my multiple reinstalls
really dont want to have to restore factory settings -
anyone know why i cant upgrade to newer version of itunes , its coming with an error "ITUNES64.MSI FOLDER containing the installation package is missing ??Ive tried unistalling previous version but same message comes up
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
TS1368 I cannot connect to the iTunes Store. I receive Error Code -1202. This problem began yesterday. I have been successfully connecting to the store for months on this PC. I am running Windows 7 and the Windows Security Center. Thanks for any help.

This is getting frustrating, it won't let me upgrade. I get to a certain point where it tells me iTunes.msi is not a valid installation package for the product.
What do I need to do? I have bought a new Ipod & I have to update before I can download to my Ipod.Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
When I attempt to upgrade an app in iTunes for windows, I get an error: "Could not purchase. An unknown error occurred (11111). There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later"
I am running the latest iTunes 10.7.0.21 for Windows 7.
This error occurs if I try to either update the app or if I delete it and attempt to redownload.
I have an iPhone and an iPad. I am unable to update the apps or install the apps from within the App Store on iOS.
I do not have an AOL ID, as is a common issue with this type of error.
From what I can tell, my Apple ID account seems fine. I logged in, changed some information, and ensured my credit card is valid and updated.
I can download new apps just fine. I am unable to update or install apps I have purchased in the past. After 30 minutes this morning, no resolution. Then another tech support call this afternoon, 15 minutes in, was escalated to a Tier 2 (Senior) advisor. He said something similar to the above ("this is one of the strangest things I've seen"). He was chatted with iTunes guys and took all my info into the case and was escalating it over to engineering. Said they would be in touch.
So, no solution...yet.
Just to clarify:
iTunes on Windows7: trying to update an existing app, or re-download a prior app, gives the (11111) error. Downloading a new (free) app worked fine.
App Store on iPhone5, iOS 6.0.1: click on UPDATE, switches to INSTALLING...for a second, then switches back to UPDATE. No error message (and nothing in Diagnostic data).
App Store on iPad 3, iOS 6.0.1: same as iPhone 5.
Definitely account related.
I have cleared the store cache, signed out and back in, deleted the credit card data, and re-added, rebooting PC and iPhone...nothing works.
Will post if I hear anything back from Apple.
