ITune9 crashes Vista 64 bit

I bought a new iPhone and i installed latest itunes version(9.0.3) for 64bit Windows, in my laptop.
Operating system is Windows Vista 64 bit.. It installed successfully..But it never detects the iPhone..I called the technical support; they tried many options..reinstalled it..But it never detects the iPhone..finally they asked me to use system restore..and when i try it, it crashes my Operating system..I got Blue screen...Then it took around 4 hours for me to recover my operating system..!
I looked for forums and it seems iTunes is not at all successful in any versions for Vista 64 bit operating system...
This is the first product i got from apple, and unfortunately i have problems with it..
When will apple give a bug-free software that can be used with Vista-64 bit?
any idea??

When I connect the iPhone, 'Autopay' dialogue box pops up..So it means, there are no issues with USB drivers..
During the reinstallation of iTunes, i got a error like, "Unbable to access key:ADF....".. The error was thrown 3 times..
The technical support person, unistalled all apple products in my laptop and reinstalled iTunes..But the reinstallation has some errors..And once again it does not detect the iPhone at all..
I tried intalling iTunes version 8..That also throws same 'Unbale to access key: ADF.." error, but the installation completed. Still the iPhone is not detected..

  • New 80GB ipod keeps crashing Vista!! Help

    Hi,
I've tried looking for this problem in the forum to no avail.
Basically I ahve just bought a new PC with Windows Vista. iTunes 7.0 worked fine since install. When i tried to sync the new 80GB 5th Gen ipod that i have just bought it crashed Vista. I then downloaded itunes 7.1 to solve the problem but alas it is still happeneing.
When ipod is plugged in it begins to sync, but then freezes everything in vista, and turns toa blue screen informing me that there is a hardware problem and windows is going to restart.
I would really appreciate any help, from anyone in regard to this, as I am a loss what to do.
    Thank You

    * STOP: 0x00000077 (0xC000000E,0x000000E,0x00000000,0x1F135000)
hmmm. rather a lot of different things can cause that one on XP:
    Troubleshooting "Stop 0x00000077" or "KERNELSTACK_INPAGEERROR"
but the fact that you're getting it on Vista is a bit of a wild card.
okay, let's try getting a minidump of the crash to the Apple Engineers for a look. (that may help with identifying which driver/file on the system is causing the crash.)
let's also capture a minidump of the crash and send it to someone who can interpret minidumps.
To set up your machine to capture a minidump, right click on "My Computer", select "Properties", select the "Advanced" tab, select the "Startup and Recovery" Settings button, select "small memory dump" from the popup. When it crashes, look for the MiniDump file. It's usually in the folder "C:\WINDOWS\Minidump" and is called something like Mini<number>-<number>.dmp.
Find that file and send it as an attachment to this email address.
in the email to Roy, be sure to include the following information:
    - A link to the thread on Apple Discussions where the issue is being discussed
    - The username you are using in the thread
    - The version of iTunes you are using or trying to use
    - the version of Windows you are using (mention service packs)
    - A concise description of the issue you are seeing
    - The exact text of the error message you are seeing

  • ITunes 7.1.1.5 regularly crashes Vista Ultimate

Although I have installed iTunes fresh on a fresh installation of Vista Ultimate (32-bit), iTunes regularly crashes Vista. The application after a couple of minutes freezes solid and then Vista crashes. This occurs with or without an iPod attached. Any thoughts or suggestions? I am dual-booting with XP Pro on another hard drive and iTunes works solidly in XP Pro. (Sarcastically telling me to stay with XP Pro will not be helpful.)

Serial ATA Drives in RAID configuration.
    that's worth investigating.
on some PCs with Intel chipsets and RAID configurations under Vista, there have been problems with the Intel® Matrix Storage Manager.
see Mark Chapman's post in this thread:

is that particular solution relevant to your particular system configuration?
(if no joy with that, we'll follow up on some possibilities associated with video cards and SATA drives on Vista.)

  • ITunes Crashing vista

Can anyone explain why the new itunes 7.1 the claimed fix!! now crashes vista as soon as i open it and is there another fix i can try i have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times to no avail PLEASE HELP it already corrupted my ipod now i have a blank ipod and no way to sync it!!!!

Read this, it should help explain a few things to ya. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=789157&tstart=75
iTunes and Vista are not playing very nicely together at this point. I would hope that the next version will smooth out all the kinks. I believe it should be out soon. But as for the crashing thing, I have not heard that one before.

  • I Tunes 8 crashes Vista 64 bit in sleep mode

I just bought a brand new Dell desktop with Vista 64 bit and installed the 64 bit version of I Tunes 8. The program opened, but I was not yet ready to migrate my files to the new PC so I closed the program and left for a while. When I returned and attempted to wake the computer from sleep mode, the monitor started displaying nothing but a pinstripe pattern and the system was frozen, requiring a hard reboot. A second occurrence convinced me to uninstall and do a system restore. Sleep mode then operated properly again. A new install of IT8 produced the same freeze. The program doesn't have to be open when the system goes into sleep mode to cause the crash. I have not even connected my dock to the PC yet. I have over 22,000 songs on my old PC and am very concerned about bringing them over. Is it possible to obtain a workable version of I Tunes 7 for 64 bit? Any help will be appreciated.

The problem turned out to be related to the ATI video card. Downloading the latest diver fixed it.

  • QuickTime crashing Vista

    Hi all,
    My problem is I've taken videos on my Samsung Flipshot phone and the files are 3gpp2. Something as simple as wanting to view them on my computer is turning into a major headache. My system is;
    Dell Dimension C521
    AMD 64X2 Dual Core 3600 +1.90 GHz
    1 GB 32-bit
    Windows Vista Home Basic
    Service Pack 1
I have QuickTime 7.6, but for whatever reason, this isn't playing very nice with my system. On some of the files it keeps crashing my system to the blue screen and memory dumping. I didn't write down the stop numbers, but I don't think that really matters concerning this? I dl ConvertHQ to convert the files to AVI, but the quality ahem *****. The files that crashed my system were fine, since HQ had no problem in bringing them up and converting. So, my questions are - is there a program anyone knows of that will play 3gpp2 on Vista? And, do all converters have basically the same quality when going from 3gpp2 to AVI?
Thanks in advance for any help.

That sounds good. Those are what i was hopeful about in your case. I haven't seen a report yet of the Intel Matrix issues being fixed by the Dell-tweaked versions of the Matrix updates. However, there have been successes reported with the direct-from-Intel versions of those updates. For example:
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=4677972#4677972
(I'm thinking however, that if the PC manufacturer offers its own versions of the updates on its downloads pages for a model, those are the drivers that folks should go for with their models.)
Prior to those updates to the Intel Matrix coming out, the state of the art treatment (using the older models of the Matrix drivers/application) is discussed in this post:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=4453007#4453007
But i'd be inclined to go the way you've been going with the Dell technician first.

  • Itunes on windows 7 keeps crashing (64 bit)

I am having a huge problem with itunes 10.5.3.3.
When i am using itunes... it suddenly crashes and I get a message box saying "Itunes has stopped working". another box then appears saying "A problem casued the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"
This can happen when i am adding new music to my library, either by adding as a folder or file.
It also happens when playing music through itunes.
Has anyone else experienced this and if so, have you solved it and what is the solution.
I have an iphone and ipod touch and i need to use itunes to get my music onto these devices.
I could use other software on the market to do this, but i want to use a stable apple itunes.
    Many thanks in advance.

  • A video card issue isn't going to crash 32 bit bridge - is it??!!

So I'm having the same occasional 32 bit bridge crashes as everyone else, then I simply replace an intermittently malfunctioning fan on my Nvidia GT120 video card, and immediately I have 32 bit bridge crashes gone wild! As in a few seconds after start up of any Logic project that used 32 bit plugs. Entirely crippling.
Just a coincidence regarding the video card / fan ya think?
Everything else seems to be functioning fine on the system.

Ahem. SORRY for the false alarm blabbering.... this episode turns out to be just another of my usual dufus-ish stunts.
When reconnecting stuff after installing that fan, a USB cable to a Line 6 Gear Box interface that serves as a dongle was left unpulgged. THAT was my problem.
    NEVERMIND.

  • Quicktime crashes vista when trying to play .mov

    Hi all,
When trying to play .mov files with quicktime it instantly runs very slowly and then I get the blue screen of death and the system crashes. I can play the same .mov files in window media player, no problems. I was just wondering if anyone had found this and if there were any fixes. I have re installed quicktime which is the latest version. The Laptop has 3gb RAM a 2.4ghz Celeron and runs very fast with everything apart from quicktime. Its only a week old and has done this with quicktime from the start.
    Thanks

    Okay, let's go digging.
    1. Download and install the Windows debugging tools from here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/devtools/debugging/installx86.mspx
    2. Go to Start, All Programs, Debugging Tools For Windows, Windbg
Once you open Windbg, you will presented with a blank screen.
    3. Click on "File > Symbol File Path". Here you will enter the symbols
path. Symbols are needed to effectively debug.
    The path will be:
    SRVc:symbolshttp://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols
    4. Enter in this path and click OK. Now, go to "File > Save Workspace"
so that your symbols path is saved for future use.
    5. Go to "File > Open Crash Dump" and load the file.
(An "Open Crash Dump" screen will appear ... doubleclick "Computer", doubleclick "Local Disk", doubleclick "Windows", doubleclick "Minidump", and doubleclick on one of the minidumps in there.)
*If you get a dialog at this point saying you don't have permission to open the file, try this:* OK out of the permission warning dialog. Right-click on the minidump file (In the "Open Crash Dump" screen), and select "Properties". Click the "Security" tab. Click the "Advanced" button. Click "Continue". Check the "Include inheritable permissions from this object's parent" checkbox, and click OK. Click Yes when the Windows security box comes up. Close the "properties" screens at this point, and go back to "Open Crash Dump", and try doubleclicking on the minidump again.
You will/should get a message to save base workspace information. Choose no.
Now you will get a debugging screen. It takes a little bit to run it,
as the symbols have to be downloaded as they are needed.
After the "bugcheck analysis" part of the screen comes up, look for the component that seems to be causing the crash.
Let us know the precise name of the component. (Include any file name extensions like .dll or .sys.)
If you can, have a look at several of your nine crash dumps. Are all the crashes being caused by the same component? If not, could you let us know the names of the various components being cited in the various crash dumps?

  • ITunes sync keeps crashing Vista and Win7 - driving me nuts! Please help

I cannot get iTunes to complete a sync of either my iPhone 3GS or my wife's 3G after updating both to firmware v4.0.1. The back ups appear to complete, then the sync goes through app updating OK and seems to crash when loading music in playlists, or when troubleshooting, I deselected syncing music altogether, it crashed during syncing photo albums from folders. When it crashes, the laptop (Vista) just completely shuts off. I clean uninstalled/reinstalled iTunes and had the same problem. I disabled the firewall and anti-virus programs as well with no luck.
Then, I swapped out the hard drive for a new one with a clean installation of Win7, freshly installed iTunes and copied and updated my music library and tried to sync and got the exact same crashing problem with the laptop abruptly shutting off. So after around 8 hours on a Saturday futzing around with this, I have accomplished nothing and am really frustrated.  Can anyone suggest something to get iTunes working properly?
    Thanks...

Will not complete a sync without crashing and saying cannot read to the device or something to that effect.
    That sounds familiar.
Just doublechecking ... have you worked through the suggestions from the following document in the course of your troubleshooting to date?
[What to do when Windows displays a blue screen error message or restarts when syncing the iPhone or iPod touch|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1502]
(The stuff I was worried about in my initial reply has since been documented in its own troubleshooting document. Some of the symptoms of that are covered in: [iTunes for Windows: System restarts, blue screen, or quits unexpectedly when accessing iTunes Store|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3441] )

  • IPod Service module crashing (32-bit)

Hi, I have a problem. I installed last.fm into my computer, and since then I keep getting this every time I load itunes, or start the iPod Service in my services menu.
    http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/3826/appleg.png
I've uninstalled Last.fm with Revo Uninstaller, so everything remotely related to last.fm is completely wiped from my computer. I've tried repairing itunes, deleting my temporary files, launching the service in safe mode (it won't let me), nothing works, and I still can't get itunes to recognize my iPod. (anymore)
My computer itself sees my iPod, the service just won't run without crashing.
What other actions could I take to remedy this? I can't even figure out if something is blocking it, or the service itself is borked.
Currently running Vista, using iTunes 9.2.1.5

    I found my answer here:
    http://discussions.info.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2565060&start=0&tstart=0
I used the workaround for people who don't own the older generation ipods:
    WORKAROUND FOUND:
I had a problem with Win XP using my laptop. iTunes 9 was working perfectly fine and the upgrade to 10 fails at the end of the install. I deleted/installed iTunes 4 times and still had the same problem.
    Exact error msg:
The instruction at "0x7c91b21a" referenced memory at "0x676e6984". the memory could not be "written".
If you click "ignore" it finishes installing. However you get this error several time when you launch itunes.
    Workaround:
I went in to C:\Program Files\iPod\bin to rename the iPodservice.exe to iPodService.exe.noload, then created a "notepad text document" that I renamed to iPodService.exe to avoid Apple to try to install the service again (if it installs iPodService.exe you get the error again). iTunes now loads without errors and loads faster than iTunes 9. iTunes seems to recognize my iPhone when I plug it in... I don't know what that service is really for.
It work flawlessly. I would appreciate on the other hand if Apple would step up their pc software development department and not let major bugs like this get through. I've heard that a person that did a fresh install of Windows XP, wasn't having any problems. There are numerous conflicts that you can run in to though depending on what is or isn't installed on your PC and what Windows services are running.
Of course lets highlight what seems to be the main problem, which is the ipodservice.exe file.

  • XFi Crashing Vista when amp switched

    Hi.
I am running Vista Home Premium 32bit on my HTPC. I have an XFi Xtreme gamer card with the .002 drivers.
The PC is connected to my amp via three 3.5mm to phono leads (ie analog output).
If the PC is switched on, or switches on when the amp is off (as it does when coming on to record scheduled recordings) the PC becomes unresponsive and has to be reset. This means the HTPC keeps missing shows. I dont really want to leave the amp on continually as its powerful and runs hot (and I have to pay the electricity bill) so is there a way to solve this I guess its trying to autodetect the speakers, and this is crashing the PC.
(And I cant use digital output, because I want to use the card for surround sound in games, and as far as I know the card cant encode surround sound into a digital stream).
    Many thanks,
    Chris

If two monitors are connected, often one is by default #1--when only one monitor is connected, generally it doesn't matter which connector is used.

  • Turbo memory Crashes vista and windows 7 when I install the driver (any available driver)

    It goes like this .
when I first receive my t61 there was a vista installation and turbo me worked. I downgraded to XP and then I didn't use turbomem.
about half a year ago I tried running windows 7 beta and one of the turbo memory drivers worked but didn't operate the Readyboost or ready drive but only I was able to see the IMD-0 in the disk management so I mounted the IMD as a drive and run manually the ready boost on that drive.
I installed a newer version of windows 7 (Build 7600) and I tried that newer turbo mem drivers and the older drivers nothing works !
When I install the driver my comp crashed because ianvstor.  That happens everytime IM trying to install the driver.
I tried installing vista SP2 and the same thing happens.  I think my turbo mem chip is burned or something.
I also tried to replace hard drives and it didn't works.
it's really annoying that I have a component on the computer which I payed for it and it doesn't work.
i really hope this forum can help me to solve the problem.
i was going throw all the posts in google about turbo mem and none of them have my problem which I can't even install the driver.

Windows 7 is still in beta stages first of all, and second, Lenovo hasn't released any official drivers to work with Windows 7 yet. That will NOT happen unitl Microsoft offically releases Windows 7.
    http://www.lenovo.com/us/en/windows7/index.html?ipromoID=wnb00492&
I would highly recommend sticking with the OEM version of your OS to eliminate problems of this kind! You want Lenovo to help you, but you're using a non-OEM operating system on your unit. Maybe someone else here in the forum might be able to assist you.
Do NOT PM me with technical issues. Post in the forum for assistance. Thanks

  • Multitouch gestures crash 32-bit applications

I've recently come across a weird problem which severely impairs the workflow on my Mac. Updating to 10.6.5 didn't help.
In any 32-bit application, gestures involving 2 or 3 fingers cause this app to crash. In particular, this renders the following gestures unusable:
    – 2-finger scrolling
    – 3-finger swipes
    – pinch gestures
    – rotate gestures.
Strangely, the following multitouch gestures work just fine:
+ 2-finger tap as secondary click
    + 4-finger swipes.
The 32-bit apps I've explicitly tested so far are
    • Skype 2.8.0.851,
    • MS Remote Desktop Client 2.1.0
    • Virtual Box 3.2.10
    • SeisMac3.0
    • AppCleaner 1.2.2
Has anyone ever experienced something similar or can think of what might be causing this?!
    Please help!

I just found the source of my problem.
For some reason, I had a system-wide input manager installed causing this behavior. Removing it solved the issue.
