ITunes 10.1.1.4 - Unable to add songs from Windows Library

Hello,
I have just installed the latest version of iTunes, I apologize if I have entered the wrong version in the thread title, however - I am now unable to drag and drop songs from my Windows Folder Library into my Playlists on my iPod Touch into this new version of iTunes.
I used to simply drag the file over to iTunes and hover the mouse over the playlist, which would auto highlight itself and then leg go of the mouse and it would be updated, however now - nothing.
Please can someone help me with this, it would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Alan.

There is some problem with your WSDL.
Share your wsdl content here.
Looks like some problem with your operation definition with input and output variable definitions.
Thanks,

Thanks for that 'sberman' - because my iPhone is backed-up to my work computer (only at this stage) I have had to call our IT Department in Adleaide. (4 times this morning). The last guy managed to get the phone into 'DFU Mode' - no more recovery mode screen - (kind of 'asleep' perhaps) from my understanding of same. I am awaiting a call again from IT so they can get my computer to actually recognise my iPhone on the C Drive. This also happened to  one of my colleagues in Newman (WA). She got so frustrated with the whole process that she bought another phone the next time she was in 'civilisation.' She hasn't had any problems since. (Cross fingers).
    Thanks again, Sandra2474.

  • Unable to add movies from iPhoto library

    Hi,
I bought a MacBook in last week. iMovie seems to be a very useful application. But I cant seem to add the videos from my iPhoto library to the projects. I use the Media button on the right hand side but it only shows photos. The videos are in .MPG format. I searched the forums but didn't get any conclusive answers.
Also in Movie Trailers, I cant seem to add photos also from the iPhoto library. I believe the trailers does support photos. In that case whats the workaround?
    Thanks for the help.

I'm not sure of all the video formats supported by iMovie '11, but the best format to convert to is Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC). This is iMovie's preferred editing format. When AVCHD clips (and perhaps others) are imported from a camera, iMovie automatically converts them to AIC. This allows iMovie to seamlessly edit to the individual frame level. Compressed formats, like AVCHD and MPEG, don't store the full frames, but use a reference frame (key frame) at specified intervals. The data recorded between each key frame is simply a record of the change in information between those key frames. The conversion to AIC recreates all the compressed data to full frames, but results in a much larger file size (about 40 GB per hour).
To convert your .mpg files to Apple Intermediate Codec, download the free application MPEG Streamclip. Drag the .mpg files into MPEG Streamclip's work space. Go to File>Export to QuickTime and choose Apple Intermediate Codec. To do a batch conversion (multiple files/clips), go to List>Batch List and add your files to the window that appears. I haven't done this for a while, but I believe those instructions are correct.
Download MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5 here:
    http://www.squared5.com/svideo/mpeg-streamclip-mac.html
To import the converted files into iMovie, in iMovie's menu select File>Import>Movies.
Obviously, you were not able to see the videos in iPhoto Videos in the Event Library, hence your further question.

  • My daughter and I each have iTunes libraries on the same computer, how can I move some songs from one library to the other?

My daughter and I each have iTunes libraries on the same computer, how can songs from one library be moved to the other?

So, if she purchased a song from iTunes in her library, I will also have to purchase the same song to add to my library?

  • My ipod says it was et up with another itunes library, it wasn't, and when I add songs to my library when I go back into it they are all gone, please help im going in circles

Please help, I am constanly re importing songs, I have to re sync my ipod to my library each time i plug it in, and I am unable to import songs from my media player, any ideas?

When I plug it in I get the **'s ipod is already synced with another itunes library so do I want to erase & sync message
Even though it is the same music in iTunes, iTunes does not see it as the exact same library because you had to re-add all the songs to it.
You will need to erase and sync and you iPod will simply end up as it is now.
It's like of your house burns down and you rebuild it exactly the same, it is still not the "same" house it was.

  • After changing laptops, i am unable to add songs into my iPhone 4. The song appears in the library but not in the device. Help!

I have not been able to add songs into my iPhone after switching computers. The mp3 format of these current songs are in the old laptop and i am unabe to retrieve them. In the new laptop, i am unable to add songs to my device, only to the iTunes library.

Best route here is to focus initially solely on the iTunes Library.  Once it has all the Songs that you want, turn off iTunes Match, sign out of iTunes Store and restart the computer from cold.
Moving to the iPhone would suggest a restore and fresh link to the library post the following steps.
    1.  Sign in to iTunes Store;
    2.  Turn on iTunes Match - allow 3-step process to run to completion;
    3.  Make secure backup of library;
    4.  Force iPhone in to restore mode - hold down 'power on/off' with 'home key' for 10 seconds
    5.  Attach iPhone via USB to computer and follow 'restore' instructions in iTunes
    6.  Once complete synchronise with library as required
At this stage all required Songs should be on the iPhone - post iPhone back-up a good point to fully enable iTunes Match on the iPhone if required.

  • I am unable to add songs to a playlist, what do I do?

I am unable to add songs to a playlist.  Any suggestions.  All of the things I've previously done to add songs don't work now.

I am unable to add songs, even when iTunes Match is turned off.  Also, if I purchase a song on another device, it will appear in my playlists, but I cannot find it in the Music tab or when I search my library.  Anybody have a resolution on this issue?  All was well until iTunes 10.5.1.

  • Can you help me add songs from iTunes 11.0.1 to iPhone4S?

I have a new MacBook Air and am trying to add songs from it (iTunes 11.0.1) to iPhone4S.
However, drag & drop does nothing, which is what I had done on my PC to add songs previously.
Note: I specifically don't want to sync my songs/libraries.  I just want to add the new stuff I uploaed to MacBook Air iTunes to my iPhone4S.
Any thoughts/help would be GREATLY appreciated.

To be fair, not the news I was hoping to hear, but I'd prefer to hear the bad news sooner rather than after expending more time and energy on a fool's errand.
I uploaded the CDs on my MacBook Air as I'm moving everything there.
So, rather than put them on the old computer and then sync there, I'm guessing at some point I'm going to have to bite the bullet and move all my songs from PC to my Mac.
I imagine I'll have to back up on new computer and erase in the process of putting the old songs and the new on there, getting them off my new computer.
One would hope there'd be an easier and less laborious method, especially since in my established pattern of procrastination I can see me putting this off for a while.
Anyway, thanks again for the feedback.

  • I have an iphone 4s.  I have a mac computer and a pc.  Most of my itunes library is on my pc, but when I try to add music to my phone from my library on the pc, it won't let me do it.  I CAN add music from my library that is on my mac, same account.

I have an iphone 4s.  I have a mac computer and a pc.  Most of my itunes library is on my pc, but when I try to add music to my phone from my library on the pc, it won't let me do it.  I CAN add music from my library that is on my mac, same account.  My husband has the same problem with his iphone 4, but only uses pc.

My husband and I are using the same iTunes account on all mac & pc computers, but the libraries are different on each machine.  We always manually manage our music (no auto sync).  iTunes is up to date on the PCs.  My husband uses our joint iTunes account on his pc, but once again, has a different collection in his library from those on the other machines.  He can't load any music from his PC to his iphone 4.  I can load music from my mac library to my iphone 4s, but cannot load from my pc library to my iphone 4s.  How can I switch my main library that it syncs with from the mac to the pc?
    Thanks

  • Can I use iTunes Match to add songs from another computer

Now that I have iTunes Match running on my home and work computers can I add songs to my library from either one. I often get (non-iTunes) music while I'm at work and want to put it on my iPhone right away, but since my phone is synced to my computer at home, The only way I've been able to do it is bring the files home, put it on that computer and then load on my iphone. Does iTunes match eleviate this? Is there another way to do it?

Yes, iTunes Match alleviates this situation.  As long as iTunes on both of your computers is using the same Apple ID, you can add songs to either one, and once they have uploaded to iCloud, they will be available on any of your iDevices AND in iTunes on the other computer.

  • How do I add songs from my iPod to my iTunes

How do I add songs from my iPod to my iTunes??

Within Windows' folder options, select the option to view all hidden and system files. Then access your iPod through My Computer. Go into the transulcent iPod "ipod_control" folder. There's a folder in there called 'Music'. All your songs are in the several folders within this folder.
Sadly they're all renamed by iTunes, but all artist, album and song name information is retained within the files. You can simple copy the files from this folder onto your hard drive and add them into iTunes as normal.

  • HT1688 all i want to do is add songs from my new computer to my iphone 4s. But that doesnot seem to be working.. Itunes wnats me to sync and lose all my music on my iphone. This is very frustrating i dont want to lose over 700 songs!!!!

Itunes is not letting me add songs from my new computer to my iphone.
Instead it wants me to sync my music library and lose all the songs on my phone. i have over 700 songs i cannot lose them just because i want to add 10 new songs... PLEASE HELP. also i am using the new CONFUSSING ITUNES 11.

This has always been the case.
All iphones have always only synced to one computer at a time.
Syncing to another will indeed erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to the new one.

To connect my ipod to itunes with windows 8 not see the option to add to add songs from itunes library. As I can solve this?

Since you can only sync your iPod with one computer at a time, you'll need to copy the contents currently on your iPod to your new iTunes library first.  See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different ways to accomplish this task.

  • Itunes doesn't add all the songs from my library

    Hi,
Had to reinstall Itunes and now the program doesn't add all the songs from my library (roughly 4,000 songs). All that is added is maybe 20 songs, and always the same ones. It has worked perfectly before.
I have tried to "pull" all the artist folders into the Itunes window, but it doesn't work. I have tried to set another folder as the Itunes library and then choose "add new folder", but only those 20 songs are added. I have made sure so that none of the files are copy protected or "read-only".
    Please, help!
    Best regards,
    Jonas

Ok, I deleted the two files and upon startup iTunes did run that search wizard for music files. However, it only found 4 songs that are located on local harddisks, and did not (as far as I could see on the network status) even try to search on the network harddisk.
One more thing though, that I forgot to mention before. I tried to solve this situation by installing an earlier version of iTunes... 4.6 i think, but when I tried to run the program it told me something like "Cannot read the file iTunes library.itl since it was created by a later version of iTunes". Where can i find that file, and should i remove it and try to add the songs with iTunes 4.6 instead?
(Thanks so much for all your help!)

  • HT1347 When I add a folder to the library, does that mean that 'later' when I drop a new file into that folder (already added) it will automatically end up in iTunes? (or do I have to add file/folder to library every time I have a new file??) I'm using XP

iTunes does not actively scan the media folders.  If you manually add content to a folder, then you must add that content to iTunes manually via the File > Add File/Folder feature.
The only folder that gets scanned is the "Automatically add to iTunes" folder.
