ITunes 10.1 no longer syncs?

After updating to the latest iTunes 10.1, it keeps crashing when attempting to sync new songs. Windows says iTunes isn't responding, checks for solution, and closes. This problem has only happened with this version of iTunes, and syncing music is the only thing that causes it to crash. I have an iPod Touch 2nd Gen with OS 4.2. I've also tried it with an earlier OS, and the result is still the same. I also have tried reinstalling, and had no luck. What can i do?

I believe I've solved my own problem. It appears the conversion to aac format is not working properly in this version of iTunes. I have the feature to automatically convert high bit rate songs to 128kb aac format set on my iPod. To check if this was the issue, I tried to convert a single song to aac manually using iTunes, and it crashed. Only solutions I can come up with are: Turn off the automatic conversion feature off, or find a program that will convert to aac format. Any other solutions?

Guys, I found another user and what he said to do worked!!! I have copied the information below:
This was 1 of the things that happend to me too, the other one was that at the bottom of the itunes page were it says all the memory info, it marked that I had over 3gb of other memory wich I didn't.
Anyways what I did was to unmark the calendar, contacts etc. ( so that they wont sync with the computer ), pressed apply, then I marked all of them again, apply again and for last I pressed Sync wich is at the bottom right coner by the apply botton.
I'm not sure that had anything to do with it but it worked, my music appeard both of my itunes playlists and the ones I bought in itunes. Also the other memory dissapeard and it's all good.
I'm not sure this will help you but thats my 5 cents, if the problem continues its better to call customer service and ask for a technician.

ITunes updated and no longer syncs with iPod Touch 4th gen

On January 26, 2014, I updated my iTunes software. After doing so, my iPod Touch 4th gen no longer syncs with or is recognized by iTunes. Reinstalling iTunes has not worked. I suspect that this is a problem created by the iTunes update.

What model iPod do you have? If yo have a 2G iPod. many developers when they updated their apps to support iOS 5 and 6 dropped compatibility for iOS 4.2.1 and earlier.

Hi, I'm new to the community so pardon me if i screw up a little. I have an iphone 4 that is 3 years + old. I have been religiously updating the system when prompted as well as syncinc over wi-fi since i've had the phone. i attempted to sync via a hard connnection last week and discovered the itunes program no longer shows my devices.
I've tried sll the fixes suggested by apple in the itunes & iphone support area but have had no luck. The itunes program no longer ofers a summary tab or any device settings. the ituns app was upgraded to 11.1.5.5 just be for the problems. Any ideas?

You didn't say what fixes you tried, so maybe tell us what you did.
I had to uninstall about 5 things then reinstall iTunes to get mine working. If you didn't do that, that's the help article I would be looking up next to do. I'm sure someone on the iTunes forums has the link handy.

Thank you all for your replies. Here is what i ended up doing. I cannot afford any 3rd party software so i went to itunes and manually entered all my playlists. As I had indicated my purchased music was on my new computer just not the playlists and I could not sync my ipod. After I rebuilt all my playlists I tried to restore my ipod to factory defaults/new. All of the steps called for in apple support and elsewhere were not available to me. I connected my ipod, went to my computer, right clicked my ipod, and formatted. That wiped my ipod so when I connected to itunes it then gave me a restore option. I did the restore and all is good in the empire again. I can now buy new music and sync my ipod so I am a happy camper.

Worked fine before upgraded of iTunesto the latest version now cannot sync iPod touch. error message is that will be wiped and replaced by library which is too big for the device so I have to wipe it and reinstall manually which takes at least four hours. ITunes/iPod Playcounts no longer syncing...

Having trouble getting my iPod and iTunes to sync the ratings, playcounts and last played options. I have updated iTunes, restored the iPod with the latest firmware to no avail. I have the setup ready with auto syncing in my preferences. Any ideas?

Have you installed or updated any software like antivirus?
Make sure you have iPod updater version 06-28-2006. If not go here and install it on your PC http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60983 once installed, open it by going to start button>all programs>iPod and hit the restore button.

ITunes music playlists no longer syncing with iPhone on iOS 7?

I have the latest version of iTunes, and iOS 7.1, but my playlists have not been synching with my device since iOS 7! I have tried completed disconnecting all music synching, then turning on a few playlists at a time, but nothing works. I have a few playlists on my iPhone (from my last successful sync), but those play counts are not propagating back to my home computer, and none of my home playlists will ever transfer on to my iPhone.
Help! Music synching has become useless to me until this problem is fixed!
