Itunes 10.2.1.1 says IOS 4.2 is most current OS for Ipad

I am trying to download the new 4.3 on a windows XP machine for my ipad. I have 10.2.1.1 iTunes, and it says that iOS 4.2 is the most current version.
Any tips for me to get 4.3 to download?

No, you need a different file. Look in the iPod touch forum; someone there may have posted the direct download link for the 3rd-gen iPod touch. Make sure you do indeed have a 3rd-gen iPod touch, though; many people have an 8GB iPod touch and think, due to dealer misidentification, that they have the 3rd-gen hardware which they do not.

Since you have an iPad 2, you can use iTunes 10.6.3.

Yes, it happens to me all the time. I deleted an app because it froze the. Tried to redownloading it but it wouldn't let me ivd tried all of my cards and nothing works. I thought it was because I had a negative balance but I have a to of money all accounts. It'd be very helpful if someone could help us out.

See the chart below to determine whether you can upgrade your device and what you can upgrade to. If you do not have a Software Update option present on your iDevice, then you are trying to upgrade to iOS 5 or higher. You will have to connect your device to your computer and open iTunes in order to upgrade.

The message is referring to iTunes on your computer, not the iPad : http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
The built-in apps on the iPad can only be updated via iOS updates, so if your iPad mini is on iOS 6.0.2 then its up-to-date

IOS 8.02 guided access not working for Ipad 2

Will the next update for iOS 8 fix the issue for guides access for Ipad 2? Issue; function not working at all. And when will this update come?
We have now tried everything we can think of. Reset settings, totale factory reset etc. This doen both on the Ipad and thorugh iTunes.
For us the Ipad got useless with iOS 8 as we us it as a visitor kiosk using the app SIGN IN. We really regret updating.... please fix asap

I can confirm that this works on 3rd Generation iPads. But not 2nd Generation iPads. I have found that if Guided access was enabled prior to the upgrade it might reset in this process.
Turn off Guided Access in Accessibility / Settings.
Hard reboot. (Hold Home and Lock buttons for 7 seconds)
Turn on Guided Access in Accessibility / Settings. Reset Passcode.

Is the iOS 6.1.3 update worth it for iPad 2?

I have iOS 4.3.2, so it would be a big jump. I don't like the fact that I'll lose the YouTube app (I use it, I've never really used Google Maps app, though), but it's nice to be able to update my apps and download apps that require a higher OS.
However, I have heard/read a lot about connection issues for the iPad after updating to iOS 6.1.3. For me, losing the Wi-Fi would be like losing the iPad. I've also read that it "breaks" the ability for the device to connect to the Internet? I don't want permanent damage...
Do you think there will be an update 6.1.5 that will fix the Wi-Fi bug before iOS 7 comes out?

If so, which update are you trying to install?
If iOS 5, iOS 5 is not avaialble for the iPhone 3G. iOS 5 is avaialble for the 3GS, iPhone 4, and ships pre-installed on the iPhone 4S.

How to update from "iOS 5 beta" to "iOS 5 Official"? iTunes still say iOS 5 is the most recent version.

Do I have to roll back to 4.3.5? Or there is a better way to do it directly without rolling back.

2. Download the file based on your device
3. Place the downloaded file on your desktop
4. Run your iTunes and Backup your iPhone
5. (Options+Click on Restore), select the downloaded file, and begin upgrading.

If Safari is working otherwise and you can log onto other websites, try clearing Safari and reset your iPad. That might help with the Twitter app as well.
Settings>Safari>Clear Cookies and Data.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

IOS: Thoughts on scaling down Retina content for iPad 2?

I don't have a non-Retina device to test on (yet. Still early in development on my universal first app), so I was wondering if anyone else is considering scaling Retina content down 50% for non-Retina devices? (iPod Touch 3rd Gen, iPhone 3GS & iPad 2) This method would sure be nicer than having to package a bunch of extra images!
Testing for appearance in Flash CS 5.5, this scaling method seems to work fine, with the exception of small text; (button labels) doesn't look that great. Anybody have some insight or experience with scaling text on these screens? Will it look better on the actual device or should I import native resolution non-Retina elements for the smaller text?

Update since I played with this some more today...
I decided to create new tab/nav bar with buttons at standard (non-Retina display) resolution and call that in for non-Retina devices, while scaling down my app pages 50%. (Larger text seems to look fine when scaled down) I dropped the font on my button labels from Helvetica Neue "medium" to "regular" as well as checking "use device fonts." Both actions seemed to bring a marked improvement on legibility for the small font size (11). Hopefully this will all check out when I get to test it on a real non-Retina device, but I do hear Apple's hardware does a pretty good job at scaling.

You need to restore iOS on your iPad.
