ITunes 10.2.1 and sharing library with Apple TV

I updated itunes to version 10.2.1. After the update, my mac (mini 09
snow) does not resume from standby when I try to query the library from
apple tv .. I am forced to wake it up manually and do a restart of itunes ...
Can anyone tell me a solution? with version 10.2 does not happen.. i also aupdate the Apple TV with last ios revision (4.2).
I also updated the Apple TV to the latest version of IOS, the 4.2. Now I do not know if the problem is the IOS or iTunes.

I'm not sure I'm willing to take the step of uninstalling and reinstalling the service pack without understanding what it hopes to achieve.

If that's the aim, there are simpler ways to fix it. Indeed, on my system, two of the three files mentioned in that article had not been properly updated, but I ran the tool at http://code.kliu.org/.etc/7601usbfix/ to update the files and then manually checked them again to ensure they were now the correct versions. This did not solve the freezing issue.
So if that's all that reinstalling SP1 is meant to achieve, I've already done that to no effect.

What are things that one should keep in mind when trying to deploy executables and shared library built on one machine to another.

1. Use compiler options to generate code for the most generic of the machines you intend to support. For example, if you intend to run on UltraSparc II systems, don't generate code for US III. The option -xarch=v8plus is suitable for all 32-bit Sparc systems less than 10 years old. Avoid -xchip, -xcache, and other processor-specific options.
2. Build on the earliest version of Solaris that you intend to support. If you allow your clients to use Solaris 8 or later, you must build your libraries and applications on Solaris 8. Binaries created on later versions of Solaris cannot be expected to work on earlier versions of Solaris, but can be expected to work on later versions.
3. Do not link system libraries statically. Always link the shared library. Static versions of system libraries can't be expected to work a a different version of Solaris, or on a different patch level of the same Solaris version.
4. Make a note of the patch level of system libraries on your build system. For C++, check especially the patch level of SUNWlibC. Clients might need the same or later patch levels on their systems. For our products, we set up our build machines with the earliest patch levels that allow our products to work. We document those patch levels, and provide the minimum patches with the product installation. If a client system has a later patch level, the patch we supply won't be installed, and the later patch level should allow the product to work correctly.

Let the battery fully darain. After charging for an least an hour try a reset and restore. Use Recovery mode if necessary.
If not successful, then time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7,now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (If you've got XP, although the procedure is for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

When will these features be available for the Intune hybrid parity? (Intune + SCCM 2012 R2)
We would really like to utilize the Device Enrollment Manager user account for shared device scenarios and the bulk enrollment feature to deploy multiple IOS devices to classroom iPads but we are "on hold" for now until these features will be released
for the hybrid parity version of Intune.

There is no information available about when new features will be released. Probably this will be available in either a future CU, or vNext. Looking at the possible impact of that change, I would guess vNext.

I have run my TC on a 12V SLA battery.. which would neatly meet that part of the functionality you want. But it is heavy and not really the rugged sort of device I think you want.
But I would look at other media players and other ways of storing movies than iTunes.. if you want to carry the whole lot around with you .. A bunch of SD cards even you could plug into the ipad??
External storage for iPad?
A small cheap PC/Mac laptop with a 1TB hard disk in it.. and 11" or 13" screen.. can often be a much better solution than lugging around multiple items so you can fit Apple devices into your life.

Where is the Home Sharing option with Apple TV?

I have the updated version of iTunes (10.6.3) , and a brand new Apple TV. The instructions tell me that I just go to my iTunes > Advanced > and turn on my Home Sharing.
There is no option in this tab for Home Sharing.

It is a feature to discourage the theft of iPhones by making them useless if resold. It's not going anywhere. It's simple: just don't buy a phone until you make sure that the activation lock has been disabled.

Maybe a bit beside the question, but it is always recommended here to open/save from/to own hard disk, and to copy from/to networks and removable media. You may be lucky, at least for a while, but it is better to be safe than sorry.

ITunes Shared library with all users on one computer

I am trying to share my iTunes (version 8.2) library with all the users on my computer. So far, this is what I have done:
1) I have moved the music folder into the shared folder.
2) I have selected "Add to Library" in all three accounts.
3) I have tried checking and unchecking the "Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library."
Since then, I have added some CDs that had some songs that I already had. When I loaded these CDs, I deleted the duplicates that had the worse sound. Since then, everything is unwinding. The additions on one user account are not being added to the others. When I delete a track, iTunes (obviously) says that it can't find the song anymore. What's odd is that I then delete the one that is missing, and both are missing now: the one that I deleted on the original account and the one that I did not delete on the original account.
I am starting to think that I need to start from scratch. So, to make a long story short (too late), how can I share my iTunes library with all users on one computer, where I can make a change in one account that will update automatically on the other accounts. If it can't be updated automatically, how can I add/delete files without causing the headaches I am currently having?

I actually followed this, but I still had problems that I listed above. Is there any way that when you make changes to one account (even if there is only one main account where changes are made), the changes are automatically (or at least easily) applied to the other user accounts?

Since I have installed itunes 11.1.3 on my mybook with OS 10.6.8, my home shared library is not visible in the aoole tv 3 anymore.
However, I can see it on another macbook with maverick installe on it.
the apple tv 3 and the 2 macbooks are connected on the same networ. The apple tv3 and the mackbook with OS 10.6.8 are even directly connected with a a cable on the same router.
Thanks for your help since I am 100% sure it came with this useless uograde of itunes.

The short of it all is that iTunes and/or Mac OS X Mavericks has broken some functionality in IPv6 or how iTunes home sharing is using it (I am leaning towards the latter as the iTunes team has a very bad habit of releasing bugs in the past).
Disabling IPv6 will also fix this issue with iTunes 11.1.2+ on Windows.
