  • Itunes 10.6.3 not detecting IPhone 4 iOS 6.0.1 after mac updated to OSX 10.6.3

Sorry about the crazy long title. I updated my Mac 2 nights ago to OSX 10.6.3 (Snow Leopard) and now Itunes 10.6.3 is not detecting my IPhone 4 iOS 6.0.1 when I plug it in. The phone still chirps when I plug it into the USB port. I can still get photos and video from the IPhone in IPhoto. How can I get my IPhone to sync with ITunes again? Any suggestions would be apprciated! Thanks!

Thank You! I just updated to OS X 10.6.8 and now my IPhone 4 iOS 6.0.1 will sync with ITunes 10.6.3. . I must be lucky as I did not update my ITunes to 10.7. I'm not even sure how I would do that? Do I have to buy it? When I tell my ITunes to chck for updates it says there is no update. Thanks again varjak paw! :-)

Hey guys, same problem here...usb driver missing specified file, but don't know what the file may be. I have two drivers for Apple USB driver one being from 07/2010, and the other 09/2010 niether work with iTunes 10.1. I finally got so frustrated that I called ATT support, but to no avail. I also tried uninstalling, and going oldversion.com for a previous version of iTunes, to no avail. I keep seeing the new hardware has been, but the specified file not found. This would start everytime I hooked the iphone to pc. I finally just set my pc back to old condition using a backup on slave drive...issues with iphone getting worse, guess they want you to fork out the money for iphone 4...think i'll switch to ANDROID!

  • ITunes 12.0.1 cannot detect iPhone 5s iOS 8.0.2

Everything was working fine until I just downloaded and installed the new ITunes.  Now the program wont recognize any of the Apple products (Ipad 1, Ipad 2, 2-Iphone 4s and 1-Phone 5s).  I check each device and click "TRUST" when asking if this computer is to be trusted, but the products are not recognized in ITUNES and won't sync.  I have unauthorized and reauthorized the computer, hard reset the phones and Ipads, and uninstalled and reinstalled ITunes, but to no avail.
Any ideas on this?  From the numerous postings on the net, this is NOT an isolated incident.  Apple needs to step up here and fix this major FUBAR.

    Hey ChrispcritterOR,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like iTunes is not recognizing iOS devices. I see you have already done some troubleshooting. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

  • HELP !!! i cant detect my iphone camera My Computer !!

i can sync my iphone fine in itunes and all... everything else is working fine... except that i cant detect my camera to copy out the photos i have taken with the iphone camera as it is not detected on my computer...
after checking my device manager, i determined that the driver is installed but there were errors... after reinstalling the driver, i still have the same problems..
can anyone help me ? i got lots of photos to get out of the phone... and emailing them will take me forever...
im on windows XP HE with SP3...

    I figured it out!!!
I've been searching for the answer to this issue for about 6 months, but just figured it out. Follow the steps below in Windows XP and your issue will be solved. The problem is that when you first plugged your iPhone the first time, a little box popped up asking how you wanted to connect the iPhone to your computer (USB auto detect "feature" in XP). When I did this the first time, I mistakenly told it to do "nothing" every time I connect in the future. This allowed iTunes to still see the phone, but Windows didn't know what to do with the phone, so it ignored the phone. Apple really should have a Knowledge Brief about this!
    Step 1: Connect your iPhone.
Step 2: Go to your Windows Control Panel in your Start Menu
Step 3: Click on "System" icon
Step 4: Click on the "Hardware" tab
Step 5: Click on the "Device Manager" button
Step 6: Scroll down to the "Imaging devices" item and click on the little "+" to the left to view the item underneath. If you right click and select "properties" on each of the items listed, one should be the iPhone. This isn't totally obvious which is the iPhone, but if you look closely in the device description, one of the devices will say something about it being an iPhone.
Step 7: make sure you're not in the middle of syncing
Step 8: Right click on the device that is the iPhone (under the "Imaging devices" section as detailed above) and click "uninstall"
Step 9: Detach the iphone cable and then reconnect it after a few seconds. This will cause Windows to reinstall the USB driver
Step 10: Now you will get that magic pop up box from Windows when you replug the iPhone back in asking how you want to connect the iPhone to Windows. Choose "Scanner and Camera Wizard" from the list presented. That will allow you to download the iPhone photos to your computer. It will also now show up under "My Computer" in File Explorer.
    Best of luck!

My iphone is no longer working I have black screen with a picture of the itunes logo and a USB cable.  When I try to connect my iphone to itunes the device is not detected, can anyone help me? I desperatley need my phone back

I have had a 3GS for 2+ years.  After upgrading to IOS 4 (now 4.3.5) I began having problems.  In the past week, my screen went to the itunes logo and USB cable twice -- unprovoked -- just found it sitting there like that!  I connected to itunes and it did restore from a backup but it is a major inconvenience.  I am also searching for answers, but better back-up regularly!

When I purchase music through iTunes from my MacBook Pro, my iPhone 4 iTunes app cannot detect those purchase to allow them to download to my phone. If I open up the iTunes app and select "purchased > music > not on this iphone" it tells me "All of your available music has been downloaded to this device." However, my purchases are not yet downloaded to the iphone and not available to download. If I go to "purchased > music > all > recent purchases" it will show me the purchases that were most recent the last time I synced my phone, but not the purchases since then.
Any thoughts on how I can remedy this and make all of my purchased music available on my phone without requiring syncing?

So I have been searching the iStore for Airplay and I find lots of information about what it is, but nothing about how much it costs, how/where to buy it, etc.?
Fortunately, AirPlay does not cost anything as it is a streaming protocol used by Apple. Currently, the AirPort Express and Apple TV are AirPlay-ready. A number of other companies, like JBL, iHome, Denon and Klipsch are also rumored to be working on AirPlay versions of their products.
Your other option would be to get an AirPort Express and connect it to your Onkyo analog or optical digital audio input and stream from iTunes that way. I currently do this with my 10+ year old Harmon Kardon HT receiver.

  • Itunes 12.1.2 freezes when detecting iPhone in windows 7

    Hello!
I've just reformatted my laptop and installed windows 7 home.
did all the windows update, downloaded the latest iTunes 12.1.2 from Apple site.
installed successfully. and is able to launch and play music. i've added in only one song to the library to just test.
Here's the problem i'm facing now.
    - iTunes freezes if i tried to going to preferences via Edit > Preferences.
    - iTunes freezes when my iPhone 6 (iOS 8.1) is plugged in. the iPhone appears under my computer, but iTunes is unable to detect/freezes.
    tried these methods
    - iTunes: May become unresponsive when connecting iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
    - re-installing iTunes multiple times, restarted my iPhone multiple times
    - running iTunes on safe mode, but i doubt this will make any difference since there are no plugins installed.
    - phone does not have any podcasts/videos
    - tried running iTunes in compatibility mode
    - cable used is original apple cable
    - created another windows user account, same problem persist.
    - tried all 3 USB ports
    - uninstalling apple device drivers and installing
    - tried to revert back to iTunes 11.4 or older iTunes 12 version, but encounter installation errors with Apple Mobile Device.
    findings
    - iTunes 12.1.2 is able to detect my phone on windows8.1 (office machine)
    - able to access iPhone under my computer to retrieve images/videos
    - able to charge iPhone via USB
    - running iTunes diagnosis states that iTunes is unable to detect any iPod/iPhone/iPad when my iPhone 6 is plugged in
    - using iTunes with iPhone had been no issue before the windows re-installation with iTunes 11.4 (if i never remembered the version wrongly, it's the red icon iTunes)
    - Apple mobile device is working fine when i've checked under services.
    - Under device manager, the apple mobile device is shown up in the USB list
would be grateful for any help! been trying to get this fixed to do a backup and sync my other stuffs.
    thanks in advance!

Are you running the most recent version of iTunes for Windows on your PC?  You may be running an older version that is incompatible with the 4s.

You have already seen that you cannot load the new iTunes into your 10.5.8, so as Neil says, you need Snow Leopard (current cost £14).    And you'll probably need to update the disc you buy via the combo update, though that is free.
As far as the new iTunes is concerned, there's been a certain amount of grumbling so you may want to study the forums before you update.   The main problem has been with album artwork which does not transfer easily.
