Itunes 10.3.1 no full screen in Lion

Hi, i'm with a MBA previous model and i've installed Lion and itunes 10.3.1.
I can't seem to be able to put itunes in full screen mode!!!
The double-headed arrow on the top right corner of itunes does not exist, while if i go to view->Full Screen i'ts greyed out.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Screen Scrambles when Itunes Visualizer is turned on Full Screen

I have been having a laundry list of problems with the new imac. One bug I noticed yesterday was that if I am listening to music in itunes, turn on the visualizer and then set it to full screen, everything scrambles on the monitor. I was using my airport express to listen to the music, but I don't know if that has anything to do with the issue. Has anyone else has experienced this bug or is it just my imac. Please let me know.

I assume by scramble you mean that the files on the desktop get moved to a new location on the desktop. The full screen iTunes visualizer runs at a smaller resolution than what you usually run it at. One consequence of this is that everything on the desktop has to be moved so that it fits within the bounds of the screen.

How to add link in full screen email Lion?

Hi all
I've been using the full-screen versions of most apps since istalling Lion. Not perfect but I like being able to swipe between screens. However the email function in full screen doesn't allow you to add a link to your message. When you hit compose new message the toolbar functions don't drop down. Am I missing something here?

Ps - I also have had the Wifi problem which was resolved by setting up network again. Time Machine does seem to take longer to backup with Lion. Finally, also have problems with email where it can't send emails sometimes. None of these dealbreakers for me but hopefully new release version will deal with them!

You should have a limited toolbar, but the add link button isn't part of it.
You can add a link using the Edit menu (or cmd-k), or select text and right-click (Link>Add Link…)

Google map full screen in lion

How do I get the actual map area to occupy full screen

Then, click the Full-Screen button in the top-right of your browser window (Lion has full-screen apps, right?). That'll get you pretty darn close to full-screen Google Maps as I can think of.

Tabs When Full Screen in Lion?

When running Safari in full screen mode on Lion it looks like there's no way to open multiple pages (tabs) at once?

Numbers "full screen" in Lion doesn't display filename.

Since Apple is hyping full screen use, isn't that rather important considering versioning and all. Am I missing something?

Most likely the borked Finder updater. OPTION-click & hold the Finder's Dock icon and select RELAUNCH when that occurs. If it continues, file s but report with Apple.

Full screen in lion

I'm using Macbookair (2010 product) with OS X lion.
Whenever I use full screen mode, Menu bar reaction looks slow.
Is it normal condition? Is there any method to improve?

I understand your response, and thank you for your input. However, I would respectfully disagree. Two things I believe contradict your stance:
1) I don't think this is the behaviour most people expect of a word processing application. Perhaps of a spreadsheet (wherein the very nature of the program will see data being overwritten frequently) but not of a word processing application. The more prominent use of the ESC key as to adapt the interface from fullscreen to normal screen format also increases the risk of data loss through this counter-intiutive method.
2) Versions is supposed to let me make changes free from fear of data loss, so even if your point that ESC is an accepted standard to "undo my edit" is accepted, this shouldnt preclude versions from performing its job and allowing me to to revert to various stages of that pre-discarded edit. If I am typing a lengthy piece of work, and making various amendments involving the discarding or deletion of sections, versions should (and does) save these edits. Why should it behave differently whether said piece of work is written as body text or in a box or cell?
It doesn't help that there appear to be no user-customisable settings/ options for versions. A sad side effect of the fact that we are expected to just "trust" that father Mac knows best is that it keeps the user from knowing exactly what is and what isn't being saved until they are faced with an issue such as this one.

When will you offer full screen for Lion?

I was curious if/when you'll be adding a full screen Lion option? I use Firefox 7 and would like this added. :)

Lion Full Screen app support is in the current Firefox Nightly version, so should ship with Firefox 14 at the latest. I can confirm it's a nice feature and works well.

Repeated System Hard Locks since iTunes 11.4 patch in full Screen apps.

Firstly, the patches changes to iTunes U seems to have corrupted my iTunes library - I now have iTunes U content showing up randomly as Music, TV Shows, and Movies. Also, many tracks have lost information.
Secondly, I am getting the 'cannot sync, out of space' issue with my iPhone 4s, but I resolved that by removing music syncing from within iTunes, going to the iPhone, deleting all Music under Usage, then re-adding my music and audio books. It is still mis-reporting how much space is utilized in the bar graph, but c'est la vie.
But the bigger problem is continuing instability on my Late 2009 27" iMac. I have had more unrecoverable systems locks(only resolvable with a hard boot) in the past 3 days than I have had in the past year. Granted that's 3 (still better than the PC days), but alarming. Resources are not an issue (8 gig ram, 8 cores)
All have been while listening to iTunes in the background and running some other app fore ground on another desktop. Two have been while on RDP Sessions using Jump Desktop (v. 4.04), the third while attempting to log into World of Warcraft.
After install of iTunes 11.4, I repaired permissions, because that often helps. Suggestions?

The next time the problem happens, note the date and time the problem occurred, then go to Applications/Utilities/Console and copy the log starting at the time of the crash. Paste the log in a reply. Please do not use a screen shot as they can be hard to read. If there are repeated runs of the same messages, please post only one run. Be selective about what you post and don’t post huge amounts. How do I get iTunes to maximize to the full screen instead of maximizing off the screen?

Whenever I maximize iTunes, the right most section of the window extends further to the right than the monitor does. How do I get iTunes to recognize my screen's size?

the way that you do this is go to your control panel and adjust your screen resolution to one lower then when it asks if you want to revert back to the correct screen size say yes and then ever time you start windows form a complete reboot you have to do this step every time, its annoying I know but it is the only solution that i have found that works

Can't open visualizer in itunes window. It goes to full screen and "show visualizer in full screen" won't stay unchecked. I'm running SL and everything is up to date.

The new iTunes update mutes the volume when movies are played in full screen. Help?

Yep. After installing 11.1.3, the audio of a movie in iTunes when you switch to full screen plays for a fraction of a second and then goes off. I can play other things in the background (Pandora, ANYTHING with volume) and the volume for those is fine. Full screen iTunes, however, is muted. Furthermore, when I switch from full screen to regular, the audio picks up where it was BEFORE full screen mode and is out of sync until I quit out of the movie and reopen it.
Is this a new 'feature' setting or has the update given us some fun errors and bugs free of charge?

Unforunately the playback problem was only experienced in the project described, - all other projects played fine....and I tried a lot of different ways to do it...so I really believe the whole project, including the playback (which did not work in the editing window in the right hand corner either, -nothing was shown there and the red marker line would not move across the project) just suddenly become totally corrupt...However, after deleting the project as described above and installing imovie11 I have done the whole thing over again and completed the project without problems this time.

ITunes will not open full screen mode in Mavericks

Hello,
Ever since a recent upgrade to Mavericks, iTunes will not open in full screen. When I click the full screen expander in the controls or in View>Enter Full Screen iTunes flashes the library and then back to the movie playing and makes the "funk" sound.
Any thoughts?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
First, open System Preferences > General, and make sure that "Close windows when quitting an application" is marked. Then, open iTunes and press the Esc key to get out of full-screen, and close iTunes. The next time it starts, it should be in a classic window

Where is the full screen button in itunes

I used to be able to click on the expand button on the bottow of the cover flow now its gone, my itunes doesnt have the cover flow view either. How can i change it back to the way it was before the update?

There is no Cover Flow in iTunes 11.
To enter full screen mode, click the (diagonally pointing outward) arrows in the upper right corner of the window.

ITunes high pitch noise when in full screen on 27" iMac11,1

Hello,
When running iTunes 10.5.1 in full screen mode on Lion 10.7.2, I get a faint, high pitch noise coming from my speakers. If I run iTunes in a refular window, the noise does not manifest itself. I can switch back and forth between one full screen app and iTunes, and the noise goes on and off and only manifests itself in iTunes.
Has anyone else experienced this?

I think I've found a workaround. The problem doesn't only happen in iTunes, but also in the Finder's list view when in full screen.
The workaround is to use Shades, a small utility that creates a uniform black color mask over my screen. All I had to do was set the brightness of my screen to 100%, run shades and lower the "brightness" using that utility to something comfortable for my eyes.
I think the issue comes from the high frequency flicker that the LED back light uses when the screen is being dimmed. For some reason, the speakers pick up on it when in list view... Why only list view? Beats me.
