ITunes 10.3.1... STOP ACCESSING THE iTUNES STORE!

I am serious! If I click on anything it tries to access the iTunes store stopping me from doing anything while that annoying pop-up shows me that it's trying to access the iTunes store.
Please help?

So you are running developer os x lion?
Why don't you post in the correct -> Apple Developer Forum instead of posting publicly in violation of the Apple Developer Non-Disclosure Agreement?
Also you should file a bug report.

  • ITunes suddenly stopped accessing the internet

iTunes suddenly stopped accessing the internet, so can't get to the iTunes store.  All other programs running ok on my Windows 7, 64 Bit system.  Have tried Windows Program repair and then Program un-install followed by Program reinstall - neither worked.  Again, everything else works on my desktop PC.  Even tried removing the anti-virus program.  Still no luck.
Apple troubleshooting guide hints do not help.

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

I do not have a Mac but I want to give a software program for a Mac as a gift. I am not able to access the Mac store. Do I just get an iTunes card?

"Gift Card" is sometimes called a tacky gift, but if it allows the other person to get whatever they want it works.
Besides, anything purchased through App Store is usually "All Sales Final", so I think iTunes card is a good idea.

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."

Your profile indicates your Mac is running v10.7.2
If that is correct, updating your system software may help.
Click Software Update from the Apple menu.
Restart your Mac after updates are installed then try the App Store.
If you can't update that way, there's a workaround.
Install the OS X Lion Update 10.7.5 (Client Combo)
Then restart your Mac and try the App Store.

Can't connect to the iTunes Store

Could be you are not connecting to the internet via wifi.

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router. Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Re: Trouble connecting to apps and iTune store.
Jan 30, 2013 10:29 PM (in response to DonWhite)
Like so many others, after updating to OS6 and changing my iCloud password, none of my devices (iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro, iMac etc) could connect to the tunes store, the error message was something "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. Make sure your network connection is active and try again." However, there was nothing wrong with my internet connection - programs like Safari & Mail worked just fine.
After trawling through the discussions and trying the recommendations (change time/date, activate location services, reset network settings etc) I just became more frustrated.
I figured that if iTunes thought my network connection was the problem, maybe I should try tricking it and, after much trial, error and frustration, I did find a solution - and it may work for you...
I turned off WiFi on my iPhone, then connected to my telco's 3G network, then connected to the iTunes store and it worked fine. Then I switched back to WiFi and all is good. Did the same for the iPad. For the MacBook and iMac I turned off WiFi then tethered the iPhone on the 3G network to the computer, then connected to iTunes Store, then went back to WiFi. For some reason that I don't understand, this all went as planned and now everything works.
Anyway, I thought I should contribute to the community by letting you know the solution I found. Of course, this may not necessarily work for you, but it's worth a shot.

  • Why can I not access the app store on itunes?

How come when I attempt to access the app store on itunes, It attempts to load and then gives me a blank white screen?
Everything else seems to work fine, its just the app section.
I am using the latest version of Itunes on a mac.

You need to update the iOS. Go here to get the last update for your 1G iPod

Not that there are not that many apps compatible with 3.1.3.

    5. Try restart iPad

  • ITunes 6 crashes when I access the Music Store

If I click on the Music Store or Shopping Cart in the playlist column, iTunes 6 attempts to access the music store, then crashes. This wasn't happening with iTunes 5. I use MacOS 10.4 and QuickTime 7.0.3. Is this happening to anyone else?

Matthew, thanks for posting. I'm having the same problem and it is driving me crazy.

  • HT1414 My Apple ID username on my iPhone4 is seemingly locked on an old, unseable ID when I try to access the App Store on the iPhone. Everywhere else it has been updated (itunes etc.). How do I get past this no longer useable email/AppleID?

The phone has been restored from settings from an old iPod Touch. The Apple ID username there worked well then, but I have since updated that. The email is no longer useable (university) and the passwords I have tried do not work - nor should they since I have updated my Apple account. Again, it's only when I try to access the App Store on my iPhone does this Apple ID problem surface. Please help! Thanks.

    Settings -> Store --> AppleID

Have you synced apps from that computer/iTunes library? You can only sync apps from your one syncing computer.

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5209 might help you.  An iPhone 4 can airplay content from apps that support airplay and iTunes but it cannot mirror.  If your game does not have airplay in the app you cannot mirror it to the apple TV so I don't know if you can play just the music.  You should have no problem playing your iTunes over airplay though.
