Itunes 10.3 Install Issue: Digital Signature

When I try to run/install Itunes 10.3 it says: "This file does not have a valid digital signature that verifies its publisher."  I click run and nothing happens.  I am using an HP laptop and this is a fairly recent problem.  Anyone ever deal with this?

I running Vista Service Pack 2.
Tried:
Control Panel>add and remove>, "Apple Update Software", right mouse button, repair, then run the setup exe again
Error message: another installation already in process. Can not remove Apple software or iturnes, same message appears, another installation already in progress.

  • Cannot install itunes - message "unknown publisher & no digital signature

I have been using itunes for ages but on Tuesday when i tried to update my IPOD it froze so i then checked that i had the most up date itunes by downlading the latest version which i have done loads of times without any problem. THis time however every time it downloaded it came up with the error message "unknown publisher" and "no digital signature". It gave the option of running the program still but then it would just close and not do anything!!
I have been to the apple shop and my ipod has been sorted although everything has been wiped as they had to restore it. I have again today tried to download itunes but am still getting the same message so cannot put music back onto my ipod to use!!
I use windows vista and have an ipod touch. We hav also tried another computer but are still having the same problem. Any ideas??
    Thanks

Should I just get the itunes setup folder from a person that has got it already?
Yes, that usually works. (So long as we can get an undamaged installer onto the PC with one of these, it will usually install fine.)
Another thing that is worth a try is seeing if you can connect to a different wireless network, and downloading the installer while you're connected to the internet that way. (The wireless router being grumpy is a common cause of this sort of thing, so by connecting to a different network you're taking the grumpy router out of the equation.)

  • ITunes won't download- "invalid digital signature"

I'm trying to download the new version of iTunes. It starts to download fine, but at the very end, a box comes up and says that windows has cancelled the download because of an "invalid digital signature" and then just x's itself out. How can I solve this problem?

BigChap posted this reply ealier - it worked great for me.
right click on Internet Explorer on your desktop and choose Properties/advanced and check the box "allow software to run or install when signature is invalid".
hit Apply. then close Internet Explorer and restart. got to download site and choose "run" instead of "save". worked for me after dozens of other attempts failed

  • Mac G3 w/ Tiger 10.4.3 update problem/issue "digital signature incorrect"

I have an old G3 on which I reloaded 10.4.3 yesterday (Retail copy). It did not go very smoothly. This is the 3rd install; 1st install was several months ago with this chip, 2nd install was shortly after that with a PowerLogix chip which didn't work. I put the old chip/processor back in yesterday and reinstalled again. I don't remember if I messed with the firmware or not with the previous installs.

The software updater tells me I need to update to 10.4.8. When I proceed with this, the system downloads the software OK, but when it attempts to install the update I get the following error:
The update "Mac OS X Update Combined (PowerPC) can't be installed.
The digital signature for this package is incorrect.
The package may have been tampered with or corrupted since being signed by "Apple".
Any ideas as to how I resolve this? Could the problem be with the OS registration, and the different chips?
    Thanks in advance.

Yes, I can do a nozzle check with the USB unplugged,
and I still get poor results on the C82 and nothing
on the C86. I just can't believe both printers are
broken. The C86 is new, and they were both working
    fine previously.
Epsons are notorious for getting their print heads clogged. Run the clean print head routine a few times. If that doesn't work, return the new printer 'cause it's dead out of the box. The old printer, well, once Epson print heads get to a certain level of clogging, nothing will unclog them. Toss the printer and get a new one. Hint: HP and (some) Canon printers put the print heads in the ink cartridges, while Epson and (some) Canons have the print heads in the printers. Machines which have the heads in the carts also have an easy fix for severe clogs: toss the cart. Warning: HP printer drivers stink.
If you don't need colour, you might think seriously about getting a low-end laser.
I just got the C82 to print readably, but still
completely missing magenta and with minimal
fuzziness. This was just dumb luck though, from
letting the printer sit idle for several hours.
It's still clogged. Clean the heads a few times again, or just toss it.
And yes, I've tried setups through the Print & Fax
pref pane, which usually works better than going
through the Printer Setup Utility which tends to
    freeze and crash.
I wish I could afford to just buy another printer.
But I'm still worried it's something to do with my
computer, since both printers are having problems
simultaneously, and they're both really good
    all-purpose printers.
It's not your machine. It's Epson.

  • Cannot hotsynch with Palm m515 to Vista 32 home, cannot install driver, digital signature error

I recently got a used palm m515, it came with the manual, cradle, cables etc. but did not include the installation disk for palm desktop software. I downloaded software version 4.1.4 from the hp website, no problems. I went through the setup for the m515, no problems. I tried to hotsynch the first time via usb from the cradle, and was prompted by windows to install the usb driver. When I attempted to install the driver, I got the following message:
"The driver cannot be installed because it is either not digitally signed or not signed in the appropriate manner. Contact your hardware vendor."
Since then, I have uninstalled 4.1.4, reinstalled it, got the same message, uninstalled it again, tried installing 6.2, same message, uninstalled that. I've hard reset the m515 twice. I've made sure everything is plugged in, turned on, etc.
    Please help!

    Just some general thoughts...
Are you absolutely sure you have a 32bit Vista system?  It sounds like the error you get when trying to connect to a 64bit version...
Did you connect the device before installing Palm Desktop?  USB devices need their drivers in place prior to connecting the cable.
A "Clean Uninstall" sounds in order before trying anything else.  See this thread by smkranz for instructions.
I'd stick with version 4.x if indeed you have a 32bit system.  6.2 will require another program to get the database structure correct with older PalmOS devices.
(Speaking of "Clean", make sure the HotSync port on the m515 is clean, and the fingers in the cradle all look straight.  They can be cleaned with electronic "contact cleaner", or carefully with a q-tip and isopropyl alcohol.)

    Perfect, thanks.
I see that one's got an SPI firewall:

  • How can I create digital signatures for my users using Windows 2008 Active Directory Certificate Services?

    Hi,
I need to create local digital signatures for my users. How can I do that using W2k8 Active Directory Certificate Services? We are gonna sign Office 2010 documents.
What company offers cheap digital signatures solutions?
    Thanks in advanced

    Consider the following:
if you use your local CA server to issue digital signature certificates, there is no cost, because you are eligible to issue so many certificates as you need. However, documents signed by these certificates will be considered trusted only within your AD
forest and other machines that explicitly trust your local CA. Any external client will not trust your signatures.
If you want to make your signature trusted outside your network (say, in worldwide), you need to pruchase a certificate from trusted commercial CA (VeriSign, GoDaddy, GlobalSign, StartCom, etc) according to respective vendor price list. In that case you
don't need to have your local CA server, because it is not used. All certificate management is performed by the external CA. A most common scenario is to purchase signing certificate for particular departament principals (head managers) or few certificates
for a whole company (all documents are revised by a responsible person or persons who holds signing certificate and sign them after review).
so, it is not clear from your post what exactly you need.

  • Can I create digital signatures for other people?

I am trying to determine if there are rules/software limitations that prohibit me from creating a digital signature for other people on my PC. As an example, I support a Vice President-can I create his digital signature and store it to use on his behalf? I would also have my own signature created and stored.  Thanks.

Pls HELP me! I can"t install it Itunes on any of my computers. After downloading it ( Run now or Saving it) it will no run because I keep receiving a message saying that Windows can not open this file because it could not verify Apple's Digital Signature. I had an older version of Itunes so I tried to install the update and it wouldn't work because so the same message about not being able to verify the digital signature.  I uninstalled Itunes and Quicktime and all other Apple programs on my system. • The digital signature for this package is incorrect- error itunes install

I won an ipod shuffle at MacWorld Wednesday. I need to update my itunes to 7.02, but keep getting this error after install is attempted:
The digital signature for this package is incorrect. The package may have been tampered with or corrupted since being signed by “Apple”.
    G5   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Ok..... got no help, but through lots of trial and error found the following. If I download the file my work on a flash dirve it installs fine. Best I can see is it must be some issue with my Netgear router.
Try downloading on another system. File comes in as .dmg and then opens to a .mpkg when all is fine. Mine would never open the enclosing folder.
    Best of Luck!

  • Itunes wont install on vista, No digital signature

I had a problem were Itunes would not update or anything Apple related (quicktime etc) so i deleted Itunes and tried to run it as a fresh copy.
Yet when i download it and try to run the application i get the box from windows asking me if i want to run it, but in this box next to publisher it says unknown.
When i click run nothing happens. The box disappears and thats that.
If i click on the application and go into properties and go into digital signatures it says the digital signture is not valid. Ive tried downloading it with Explorer, Firefox incase that was it. I have even done a clean install of windows and tried to install itunes first incase there was a conflict.
Can anyone please help because its driving me nuts!

Mr. Peck-- Would like your advice re: where to post this question. I cannot update ITunes and Quicktime to the newest version using apple update in the windows environment. I have tried disabling antivirus software without help. Error is that it is not receiving a "valid signature." Installation on the mac side of updated quicktime and Itunes works fine. Windows version is XP SP3-- with appropriate updates.
Is there a solution that you know of? Where would you suggest posting this question?
    Thank you,

  • Can't Install iTune 7 because missing digital signature

I have a new Dell with the notorious Vista. I downloaded iTune 7 but got this error message. What do I need to do? Thanks,
    Dell   Other OS   Vista
    Dell   Other OS   Vista

hmmmmm. if you were on XP, i'd be checking through the techniques from the following document:
(MS) You cannot install some updates or programs
... but the situation is less clear with "missing digital signature" messages on Vista.
does turning off UAC (temporarily) help?

  • I run Windows 7 and the newest version (10.6) of iTunes will not install. The installer won't even begin, and when I run the Apple Software update, it tells me that iCloud and iTunes have invalid signature.

When I run the Apple Software update, it tells me that iCloud and iTunes have invalid signature and will not be downloaded. When I DL iTunes64setup.exe, the program will not start (there's a bar that flashes but nothing actually begins). I've done everything short of reinstalling Windows to fix this (system resore, unistalling all Apple products, taking down firewall, running Windows FixIt - which either won't find the problem or gives me an error saying that the troubleshooter cannot be downloaded at this time, going into the security features to allow programs without valid signatures, trying to install earlier versions of iTunes). It all started when I downloaded the Decemberists new album on my iPhone, and it wasn't downloading it properly so I connected it to my Dell, but some songs still wouldn't DL - also, the newest OS for my iPhone still won't install via WiFi - and so I uninstalled iTunes first, but nothing is helping. And I don't have any security issues (Norton has checked). Any ideas? I'm at my wit's end after 3 days of this. Thank you.

Ok, so after like 4 days of going through all these different issues, I figured out that several programs weren't downloading, and it was an issue with my wireless connectivity messing up the digital signatures, so if you plug in your comp to the modem and delete your temp files, it should start to work!
