iTunes 10.4.1 does not open (Win XP, 32 bit) crashes always when trying to start Itunes.
Tryed to repair, new installation, nothing worked.
Can anybody help me, any idea?

Sorry for this late answer. I had not to time hanging around on the pc. Thank you for your help.
I solved the problem, lucky!
After deinstalling all Apple Software (except safari) I started the PC again and installed Itunes another time.
It worked, so I am happy, still not knowing what was the problem.
The best thing is, that my mediathek is still running (I hoped so, it was put on another harddrive.)
Updates should not stress that way...

Are you seeing your music listed in the iPod screen, or in Win explorer as in your earlier post?
I can see all the songs in my Edrive>al's Ipod> Ipod Control> Music folder.
A corrupted iPod database, will report zero music used, and have your music size reported as others, so you wont see the music in the iPod screen. Sorry, I thought there was some hope for you with iPodAccess, in recovery of the corrupted iPod database with your ratings.
You can try to borrow and use the Mac Disk Utility ->First Aid ->Repair.
Of course, if your iPod Hardisk is in a bad state, from the Disk Diagnostic report, then all my suggestion are futile. -
I updated my Itunes the other day and now, when clicking on the itunes icon, the program does not open?? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, resetting the computer, checking permissions, running as adminstrator.. nothing is working?? Help!!
Amazing steps you've done so far! The great news is this is very unlikely an issue with your iPhone.
I've run into a similar issue lately as well. I narrowed it down to one song that was causing 30 songs not to sync. I removed the song from the sync list (unchecked it) and all 29 songs were able to sync.
You may be running into a similar issue. This may be a problem with this version of iTunes, an issue with one song or a group of songs; hard to know for sure. It's important to narrow down and isolate the cause. Most imporantly get that music back on there!
The way to narrow down the casue add just a few songs at a time (even 1, just to get that first sync finished). Manually syncing is what you'll need here.
Plug in your iPhone, on the Summary screen (shows a picture of your iPhone, the iOS version, Restore iPhone....; etc). Under the Options area at the bottom choose to Manually Manage Videos and Music then choose Apply in the lower right. The music that's on your iPhone now should be removed from your iPhone now. You're now able to sync music manually.
The link below explains how to drag the songs from the iTunes library on the computer on to your iPhone which will start the sync. Add just one song just to see if you can get 1 of those hundreds of songs on there. If you can, awesome! Keep adding until you find the song or group of songs that are causing this issue.

When I click PDF file, the file does not open and installation software for creative suite automatically begin to start. Even after re-installation of creative suite 5.5, only acrobat reader dose not work and the same phenomena occurs.
Did you ever install Acrobat? It is not installed automatically with CS, but requires an extra installation step.

Try and force iPad into Recovery Mode
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times. -

I have an iphone 5s, does not boot, blinking white screen with black logo, when trying itunes restore from mac and pc, error code 4013 which is usb error, any ideas? Does a totally dead battery have that effect? I have had it plugged in to a computer overnight, but maybe does not charge when totally dead?

Downloaded Latest Itunes but now it does not open at all, with no error msg
I have downloaded the latest version of iTunes for my Laptop. I have recently moved my internet to my laptop so i have been updating software for the past two days.
However, when the download of Itunes is finish i can not open it. There is no error message at all, it just does not open, it just begins to load with the 'hourglass' waiting symbol and then stops. I can't open it at all.
I am runnin on Windows XP and had no previous trouble with the older version of iTunes. I am now regretting that i even updated. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Claudia.I had exactl the same problem, it drove me crazy for about one week. Actually both 7.1.1 and any 6.x version didn't want to install on my PC.
7.1.1 just downloaded ok and than after running it terminated with no message and no action.
I tried almost everything: from manually removing all WinXP Registry entries to checking the entrire Win installation.
I also tried to download itunes from a different PC, but again same result.
Finally, I gave it a try to download iTunes from a different web site and... everything worked flawlessy!!
The only conclusion I came to is a possible issue between my network/firewall/ISP settings and Apple download services.. very hard to justify in real world but I can't think of anything else.
So my advice is to look for another web site hosting iTunes for donwload and give it a try!

Itunes 10.6.1 does not open- Windows XP
Good Evening Gang,
I recently reinstalled windows XP and downloaded the new itunes 10.6. Itunes starts with the end user agreement and does not open after I accept. I have tried everything and nothing seems to work and I cannot sync any of my apple devices. I have 1. Reinstalled itunes 2. Trusted itunes in the anivirus program 3. Reinstalled XP. I have not had this problem of the past 5 years. Below are my specs. Is this an issue for 10.6 as this is frustrating as I cannot buy music or sync any devices? Is there a workaround? Can I get a previous version?
Any help would be great.
Computer: Dell Dimension 8400 (Old School but still running like a gem)

iTunes recognises my iPhone 5s attached, but does not come up with the scanner/camera wizard giving me the option to upload pictures. I've tried going to control panel on the computer to try and open it that way, but it does not acknowledge that any devices with a camera are attached. It gives me the option to manually add one, but then it gets too technical for me. Anyone any ideas? Help will be greatly appreciated. - Thanks

When I go through the Run option on Start, it just says Firefox has had a problem and has crashed, we will try to restore your tabs and windows when it restarts. I click on "restart firefox" and then it opens up another window with the exact same message. Also, I cannot remove firefox through the add/remove programs option on windows. I click on remove and nothing happens.
You can try reinstalling Firefox. You can get the latest version for free, as always, at [http://getfirefox.com getfirefox.com]. Just install it over your current install. No data will be lost.
If that doesn't help, it's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. i've been forced by my comp to shut down several times by holding the power button because of the inability to select the apple and shut down correctly..idk if i got a rare mac virus or bug.. and some programs simply won't open when clicked on.. i don't know how this is possible after years of great performance..
Where did you get this "dmg file"? To install the newest version of any Apple software, including iTunes, all you have to do is use Software Update from the Apple menu. This doesn't download any dmg, it automatically installs the software for you.
Maybe try repairing your permissions from Disk Utility (in your Utilities folder).
Also - What version of OS X do you have? Please update your forum profile so we can help you better.

ITunes & QuickTime will install but not open after Windows XP laptop crash
Alright, this may be a repeat question from a long time ago, but I don't have the time to dig through 1,000+ posts so I'll just put it out there. Here's the situation:
*Backed up my entire hard drive including iTunes 8.1 and library to external drive using Roxio Back Up My PC (BUMP) creating a large .QIC file
*Two days later, entire computer crashes - says can't load from BOOT.INI upon start-up
*I re-install Windows XP service pack 2 operating system, install driver update and recovery disc, go through Windows Update and upgrade to service pack 3, etc.
*Do a system recovery from External Drive using same Roxio program, instead of a full restore, it duplicates the files I re-installed and maxes out my C:\ drive.
*Try everything I can to troubleshoot the problems on my own, defragment, disc clean-up, registry cleaner using RegCure, use Windows Installer Cleanup Utility, use File Duplicate Finder to wipe the dupes created by the restore, run Symantec Antivirus 2007 scan just in case, etc...
*Anyways, NOW getting to the iTunes related part: after the system restore, newest upgrade of iTunes 8.1 and Quicktime both don't work at all, they are installed in the same location in Program Files where they originally were housed, but when I click to open, it sends a standard Internet Explorer type error message, prompting either to debug, send troubleshoot message, etc.
*Finally, I un-install iTunes, re-install, same deal. The curious thing: practically all other programs work just fine, incl Windows Media Player, MS Office, all restored and in operational condition. Why the exception with anything Apple related?
Any advice would be MUCH appreciated considering I have 300+ gigs of music. Thank you in advance!!Try these steps..

Dragging a tab out of its place does not open it in a new window always. Behavior is erratic.
Dragging a tab out of its place is and dropping it (say) in the middle of the screen is supposed to open the tab in a new Firefox window.
But this behavior is often erratic and sometimes it simply does nothing, which is frustrating.
Is there a bug already filed for this issue?Did this setting in about:config get changed recently?
